    I put cardboard scratchers right outside of the litter boxes to cut down on the sandiness of this litter - cardboard is great for tracking control. I run my vacuum in the living room at least every other day. I have a new pet-sitter who asked me what kind of litter this was because it was the most impressive stuff she had ever seen. It's $$$, but I think it's worth it for the odor control. I paired it with stainless steel litter boxes.

    I recently switched to this litter brand after going through so many others and It's hands down the best one. It's rather on the pricey side, especially for 2 cats, but absolutely worth it. I'm never going back.

    Litter mats are best with that. I use the small grain for my cat because of his asthma. Yes, you vacuum frequently but it’s better to vacuum than deal with asthma attacks and vet visits.

      I know this is old. but I have used a reptile scoop with my ultra fine sustainably yours for years now! its stainless and easy to clean. Only downside if my store sometimes doesnt have the multicat plus ultra small kind and just has the normal size, and all of the normal pieces dont always fall through. its not enough to lose a TON of litter but its still rather annoying. I wish they would come out with a scoop that works well for their litter

    I use this Sustainably Yours (SY) Litter as an additive to the clay litter I use (Special Kitty clay clumping litter) and it’s the perfect combo for me. It lasts forever using it this way and doesn't track everywhere, but I get the incredible clumping action SY litter has has, and the smell of it isn't overpowering, or smelled over the clay litter scent. If anyone is not wanting to use any clay litter, they could still try mixing the SY litter with other kinds of litter to see if they find a combo that works. My ratio is one scoop of Sustainably Yours to 4 scoops of clay litter. I used to fill the box with clay litter and then sprinkle SY litter over the top and mix it up that way - which probably used even less SY, but I got tired of 2 litter containers so I combined them into one container at the same ratio -and it's no extra work to use both now. Just a suggestion, thanks for the video!

    • @sactownaimee
      @sactownaimee 7 месяцев назад

      @@chunswae8840 I use Special kitty clay litter from Walmart- I get the 40lbs box if it’s in stock, or just get the 14 lb scented or fragrance free type- seems to work well with either type. The fragrance can break up a little, but it’s not like it would if used by itself. I have 4 cats, and three of them use the boxes with this type of litter mix and it keeps up with them - I clean the boxes 2 times a day. My 4th cat will only use boxes with crystal type litter- but the other 3 prefer the clay mix litter much better, and seem to notice if I don’t mix in the corn type of litter if I run out of it. They make more messes kicking the litter out, and get in and out several times before they finally use the box- so they seem to like having the mix of litter types.

      You are a natural on camera. I worked for 40 years as a radio DJ. Now a 60+ senior, fixed income. I tried the Sustainably Yours multi cat type and it was the best. But, because of the small granules mixed with the larger ones, my fake wood floors got slippery in spots due to the sandy texture. I was afraid of falling. So I switched to the large grain, it scatters but only around the box. Trouble is, it only lasts 7 days tops. The clumps are TOO big. I can't afford $22.00 four x month. Thinking of getting the Multi-cat again. Putting a pad under the litter box doesn't help. It's a covered top entry and my cat just jumps out over the mat. Also use a local store brand wheat litter. Lasts a long time, but scatters absolutely everywhere and stinks!!

    I tried Garfield's litter that is also cassava, etc. same result fine and lovely for cat paws but oh my gosh the tracking. I put down a brown piece of carpet by the litter box and I could see which way he exited because I could see the trail. It clumped okay but I felt it had a weird odor, even my cat would have the litter dust on his fur. I stopped using it and switched to pine cobbles from PetSmart, a terrific "find" and we are happy with it, smaller pieces (he is not a fan of regular pellets) he uses this and it doesn't smell.

Though my cats trot along the runner, they STILL have litter in their paws 🐾 all the way to other end of my house.

My cats were sneezing a lot with the Arm & Hammer Slide cloud control, and I also started to see tiny dark dry spots on one of my cats private’s areas, and I got scared thinking it could be blood traces and the beginning of a blockage. I never had any problems like this with SY before. Also, I can check the color of the pee and if there’s traces of blood with the SY. BTW, the tracking I had with others were way worse than SY.

    What we found was that it might help to get a larger litter mat, giving them the ability to walk on it out of the litter box so that it helps to clean their pads a little bit better and then they’re not tracking as much on the ground when they walk out because putting a small litter mat They put one or two on it and then jump off the rest of it but with a larger one when they jump off the litter box they’re still on the mat and they’re walking away the mat so they’re tracking all that litter onto the mat as they walk off the matworking for us

    I use pretty litter and it clumps poops ok, not great but ok. I have an elderly kitty with IBD. When he has diarrhea it breaks up into tiny bits similar to what you’re describing, I find what helps is to spray enzyme cleaner (make sure it’s an organic type like Biozyme) directly onto the tiny poop clump so the moisture from the cleaner creates a bigger clump around the poo, then I can at least scoop it out that way. It’s still time consuming but it saves me from having to toss $40 worth of cat litter out.

    Owns a robot vacuum. and complains that daily vacuuming of tracking is required... O.o?
    Tracking patterns are very predictable and cats tend to do their business around the same time every day so it would be very easy to just set up a litter zone on your robot vacuum's map and schedule a spot cleaning at typical tracking times to completely eliminate tracking to the rest of the house. If you have a Litter Robot it's really easy to do because the app keeps track of the time when your cat goes into litterbox and you can review the data for an entire month to approximate the best times to vacuum. Otherwise, if you can't save up for a litter robot but can still manage to afford Sustainably Yours, you could invest in a motion-detecting camera and aim it at the box to figure out what your cats' bowel movement schedule is. In my experience, very bonded cats tend to use the bathroom one after another and they always take a dump immediately after a meal.

    Has anyone tried using a house mat like at the entry of a shopping centre instead of a litter mat? Just saying if the biggest problem is the sand...don't mats at the door stop it? l might try it. Thanks for the review

      For a 13 lb bag, with three cats, it lasted three weeks to a month.

      It is unscented. If anything, it’s a very natural light scent from the materials itself.

    I don't understand how people don't smell urine with this litter. We have 3 cats and the urine smell was so INTENSE, I had to throw out the whole batch. It does clump so well which made it even more disappointing that the smell was that awful.
