Eh no problemo! PSP was definitely one of my favorites as well. Imagine trying to mod the PSP firmware to run on the PPSSPP emulator 🤣 I remember the day I first hacked my PSP 1001 to play Gameboy, and other consoles!
i recently downloaded the newest nightly build of ppsspp and now i can log into retroachievements. for me, retroachievements is one of the biggest motivation to keep playing games. =)
I seen they added this I don't care for achievements for older games myself but maybe that's my age talking lol. I think the achievements come with your mindset of a lot of old games, finding multiple Easter eggs, items, mastering each level a 100%, playing hardcore mode, playing every mode, the list goes on. With newer games (let's pick Minecraft) people get bored so they go to the achievements to see what they can do more on the game to keep motivated and keep Microsoft happy. Again this is my brain talking I'll look into the retro achievements perhaps but in the end it's all about how creative your brain thinks.
Well, i started playing games on my RP3+ by installing Retroarch, and i created a retroachievements account at the same time. It was normal for me to get achievements and i think its a nice way of keeping track of which games i played and what secrets i discovered. They are also very nicely displayed in the Daijisho widget section. So after playing some games on NES, SNES and other older systems, i was happy to see that PPSSPP added retroachievements so the trophies are added to my "collection".
I wouldnt say that i play games because i like to hunt achievements, but it definitely improves the experience IMO. Also i'm 33 so im not sure its only your age talking lol.
Anyone got a video for retroarch psp cause id rather do that than pay for ppsspp. 😅

Hey I followed the guide on the retroid pocket 2s, it works but the gameplay is still choppy, any help?
I followed along and downloaded everything, but when I try to open my game, it just takes me to the PPSPP app without opening any game

ive followed your previous setup tutorial, and im at the point where i have to extract the 7z file, but that isnt an available option for me. i can "open with, sort by, select all, copy to, move to, compress, rename, or get info". any thoughts on what to do from here?
Copy to is the same as extract IDK why the Retroid File manager does this. You can also download Rar Labs from Google Play it's a really good extraction tool for every type of compressed file type.
for some reason the device does not give me the option to extract to psp folder
You can use this app if the file manager won't extract properly, I find that some larger 7z files don't extract with the default File Manager so I did a bunch of guides about using this app.

Have you tried motor storm ? I got god of war to run good but motor storm gives me trouble.

I can download the games no problem, but then it never gets past the loading screen once in the game. Any advice?
No problem, are your files iso files? What games have this issue? I've never experienced this with the dozen games I've tested so this peaks my curiosity.
Is there a handheld system where all this is set up out of the box? I just want to turn on, and play. Not mess around with downloading, setting up files, changing settings etc.
Hey in regards to an all in one Android device, not that I've found. There is a device that runs a Linux based system called the Powkiddy X55 but would I buy one personally, not any time soon. But if you want a device that has what you're looking for without messing with setting it all up maybe the Powkiddy is your device of choice. 😁

would you recommend default ppsspp settings (especially vulkan) for the newer rp3+?
Hey I show what graphical settings to use in the guide, OpenGL works for most games Vulkan wouldn't perform for GOW on the 3 shown in this guide. I do have a 3+ that should be here this week and I am doing in depth guides for most platforms including PSP. So stay tuned for that, 😁

@aclong88 in the end that's what it's all about with most heavy performance emulators. Maybe one day there will be a scraper for every device specs and load graphics settings based on these specs 😁
So you dont need a computer at all to download games onto this and start playing?

Hey not at all, this device is technically an Android based device with gaming in mind! The 3 does not appear to be available anymore through Retroid either they seem to get rid of the old model a year after for some reason. The 3+ is the better of the 3 & can play a lot more when it comes to console compatibility!

@flamersss of course I have been utilizing the capture card for my later guides with the HDMI port. You can also live stream directly from the device as well, I have yet to do this for long periods but it works decently for none heavily demanding consoles.

No it's just the 3 it is capable of playing every console up to Playstation pretty well.
