While it isn't my favorite guitar the Strat should've been Number 1. It's the best selling electric guitar of all time and it's got such an insane legacy. And while the Les Paul would then be the obvious choice for number 2 you could make an argument that the Tele should be number 2 and Les Paul number 3. My favorite guitar of all time, the ES-335 came in at a very respectable number 4. I can live with that.
Did the people whom put this post together not realize that the Les Paul went out of production from like 1960- to 68 ? While the Stratocaster ,.like the tele and Gibson SG,..have remained in due production since introduction? hell,..,its the extra low production years for the "burst" ( 58-60) that is the reason their so super expensive.
How come in a list of and I quote "based off of sales and overall enduring popularity" the guitar you say is the best selling guitar (Fender Strat) takes the number #2 spot? Makes no sense, unless your a Les Paul fan...
For a channel that calls itself the "All Guitar Network" you would think it would be more professional and at least have narrators who knew what they were talking about and didn't mumble. Pathetic!
Strat #1, Les Paul Standard #2. Reverse the top two and it’s a solid list. Although the Les Paul Standard (both Gold Top and Burst) is considerably more valuable on the vintage market, Strats are more versatile and have sold apprec- ably more than Les Pauls. And the reason is quite simple: the price. You can buy two brand new, American made Strats for the price of one Les Paul standard. Totally different guitars, both super great for what each does. But the Strat has to be Numero Uno in my book. One can also make a case for the Telecaster as top dog, but not to me.
Nice list. Each of us might change the order - it's all subjective. Next, make a TOP 10 list for bass guitars, please. And then acoustic guitars. Take care and stay safe.
Very misleading. Where were the acoustic guitars ??? The posting should have read Top Ten Electric Guitars Of All Time. Nothing but a bunch of boring electric guitars. Too bad it couldn't have included some real guitars.
I agree the post should have definitely read Top 10 Electric Guitars. But categorizing electric guitars as boring and not real is nothing short of idiotic. I can't imagine a real guitar player not recognizing the unique beauty of both acoustic and electric guitars.
That is exactly what it reads now. Perhaps they changed it. A solid body electric guitar always reminded me of a cutting board with strings. (And yes I used to play them a lot - SG's mostly.).
Rubbish. Strat has to be #1 based on sales, Popularity, wide use, and continued status.
Fender Stratocaster should be # 1 Gibson L.P. # 2
Absolutely. This man must be sponsored by Gibson
100% Les Pauls are not versatile....
@ bob swan ~ You’re right, actually. The “All Guitar Network” is sponsored by Gibson.
Great list. Should be titled "Top Ten Electric Guitar Models of All Time" though.
@Tin Man ~ Agreed.
What about L5 then?
There’s just something about playing a 335. I just have a cheap Epi model, but it’s one of my favorites 🎸

I agree with pretty much you said. Could go either way
@@benallmark9671 the telecaster is probably the best though because it's everyone's desert island guitar
Strat and Lester are equals....
Too bad you don't know the best jazz guitar of all time - Gibson L5

Overall I agree. We have favorites... The older I get, Telecaster is mine.
What is a "chare-velle"?
The Gibson SG Standard is my dream guitar. :)
Yep
Like the content but the narrarotors voice is terrible

It would be interesting if the facts were correct.
Strat is #1..💯...!...
Yep
I would probably opt for the Custom 24 rather than the CE24, but otherwise this list is solid but very similar to the Watchmojo list as well.

I noticed that Amena didn’t make the list.
Neither did Karrera.
Thanks AGN. ⚓️.

Nothing boring about an electric guitar man! 😂

No Jackson Rhoads ?
LP weighs a ton, get an SG instead.
Or both
