  • The new bmpcc 6k pro is a great camera, but the Blackmagic pocket cinema camera 6k is also still a great camera for a Blackmagic 6k rig on a gimbal. Here's how I rig mine currently.

I just got my 6k, I've been buried in editing work so I haven't been able to really break it in, but I'm super excited! I was concerned about stabilization so it's wonderful to know the Webbil S can handle it! Thanks!

Any chance you would know if I could use the 6k with the battery grip on this?

Great review. What kind of camera is that? Who makes it? I use Sony A99M2 will the gimbal work with my camera? Will the gimbal attach to full size tripod? BTW, great job mixing background music with your audio.

One question, can I use a bigger lens on this setup or u recommend me to buy a Crane 3s or other gimbal for the setup

i chose panasonic s5 very happy with it but manual focus, if u want auto focus go with s5 ii . i couldnt deal with file size of black magic and tbh puting 4k on a camera body is too much money@@ShaneRUclips-jm3vj

This made it itch in my fingers, i just wanted to jump through the screen and help you, it sits way too high, thats why its not balancing correctly, theres a thumbscrew right under the big S where you can lower the center of gravity, you didnt touch it, and thats why it falls forward violently

Ultra wide angle lenses introduce too much optical distortion and coupled with perspective distortion is too much to deal with on a run and gun project. Rather use a 28 to 75mm or 28 to 105mm and use my feet to get position. There's nothing in a specific shot I want that far away from subject to deal with the peripheral distortion.

@@joecline__ I am a retired professional photographer. I'll give you a tip. Everyone thinks they need fast (small f-stop) but frankly you don't. Lenses aren't even their sharpest a large apertures like 1.8, 2.4, 2.8 or even f/4. Unless you're shooting in really low light situations large apertures aren't needed. Cameras these days have remarkably low noise at high ISO as high as 128,000. Focus may be problem because some cameras won't even auto focus with apertures smaller than 3.8 but that's what manual exposure is for. Really enjoy your work and happy to see a young man of color working in the field both video/photo and coffee.
