    I purchased the Quest 3 an hour ago, and it's noticeably better than the Quest 2. Interestingly, I saw others leaving with three of them before I entered Best Buy. To add to the excitement, I spotted the Tesla Cybertruck for the first time on my way out! 😊

      A lot of people have been buying 7 separate Quests 3's at a time to give to family and friends.... instead of buying 1 Apple Vision Pro ...

      Yeah, agree. It is a substantial jump up. I normally like to skip one release of anything before upgrade, but the release cycle for Quest is so slow that I have not. I knew that the upgrade would be significant and it was. I am looking forward to the ImmersedVr glasses, though I will wait for a few reviews on those before I give it serious consideration since I have found the ImmersedVr app to be very unstable. I do also have nReal glasses, but I don't really like them. They work, but they have a lot to do on the app before it is a suitable option for multiscreen viewing in my opinion. It does work well for gaming and as a screen for Dex thoug.

    Great seeing you cover Fluid imo the ease of use and option for desk work is better for me. But yeah these are probably gonna be less used once floating windows are here soon

    for work productivity... I think workrooms and immersed are pretty hard to beat. Just a personal preference of course. I like getting my work done somewhere else in virtual reality.. it adds a fun element and an escape. For recreation, I love the idea and concept of multiple screens around the house. Picking up a quest 3 this weekend hopefully if all goes well for my schedule. I can't stand the black and white horrible grainy passthrough of the quest 2 . Looking forward to the leap forward. Not to mention the much much lighter headset lol. I also saw someone 3d print a piece for their Q3 so they can use the soft knitted apple headstrap . As someone that likes to rest their head back and relax in vr, Im contemplating doing this myself.

    Love the video! But i have to disagree about third party browsers disappearing. I use Fluid daily and absolutely love it, especially with its new group browsing feature. I think that it will be a similar to how not a lot of people use Microsoft Edge (But on a far less massive scale). Since Fluid is from a new company working on only the browser it'll be a much more feature rich experience I think. I'm exited to see how the productivity world changes with this tech though!

    In the first few moments you said that the Reality Browser has to be installed via Sidequest and therefore Fluid is easier to install. Not true - Reality is an App Lab download, same as Fluid. So you've kind of kicked off the comparison on the wrong foot. Personally I find Fluid to be clumsy to use compared to Reality - the keyboard is dire - of course it's got some great features but I just find for me I feel like I'm doing battle with it sometimes. Reality is more instantly usable, while lacking bells and whistles. But if I don't need those bells and those whistles at the time, it's not a problem.

      I bought a quest 3 after buying an AVP. AVP is the better product, but I’m keeping the quest because of the value. AVP will be the future but right now, it’s an amazing iPhone replacement.

      I’m an all in Apple guy, but I just bought a Quest 3 after doing the Apple Store VisionPro demo. Vision Pro’s user interface is much nicer, but gaming and the price favor the Quest. I rather spend $500 for now and wait a few years to see where each of the systems stand before making a new purchase.

    Do you have any worry about privacy with these apps? I love what you can do with them, but I havent found anyone thats done a deep dive into what sort of information they track and store from your headset. So if you're logging into a bunch of applications and websites (potentially with payment methods stored), is that information being stored on their servers and exposing you to potential data breaches?

    • @johndagdelen3860
      @johndagdelen3860 8 месяцев назад +2

      Fluid developer here, we don't send any of that kind of data off of your headset. We track anonymous usage in an aggregated way by stripping urls down to the root domain so we can collect statistics on what sites users are trying to use and which ones are causing their app to crash or other issues. We also have an Incognito mode that turns even that off. Your data is safe in Fluid.

    So which is best for Samsung Dex, the quest 3 or the nreal2.?

    • @yandrosyoutube
      @yandrosyoutube 8 месяцев назад +1

      AR glasses are very likely to be a better fit for Samsung Dex, at least assuming you don't mind having the Samsung Dex screen follow your head movements (so that to look at corners you have to peek with your eyes instead). But the moment you want to play with spatial anchoring so that the display "floats in space, fixed", no matter how you move your head, then I'd strongly advise against the FoV-limited and spatial-anchoring-buggy AR glasses. Instead, mirroring the Samsung Dex screen onto a VR headset may be a better fit, albeit one requiring more setup than the "It Just Works" usb-c experience (for Samsung phones I mean: a bunch of other phones are very bad or just do not work with AR glasses).
      If, however, we consider that Samsung Dex is mostly an "AR glasses enabler", and envision using virtual monitors in VR outside of Samsung Dex, then I'd most definitely recommend a Quest 3 headset, for a similar price to Xreal + Beam, or even waiting for the future 4k-per-eye-for-1000-bucks Visor, over AR glasses; unless you intend to use them when in transit or when laying down in bed (in which case AR glasses are an excellent fit).

      "Just spend 7 times more"
      Absolutely not lol. AVP would have to be so much better than it is for me to even *consider* that. The reality is Quest 3 can do pretty much everything AVP can and it can do it well enough for me. It can also game because it has controllers and that's still my primary use case.

    • @ralexand56
      @ralexand56 7 месяцев назад

      @@scaryifliteral yeah I’m not a gamer so that use case doesn’t really matter for me. I’ve been looking for something that could do what the vp can for ages and probably have spent about $4k total on crap that quickly gets relegated to the closet. Be honest with your viewers and tell them to save up their money for something that delivers on the screen quality level expected in today’s computing world. 1080p just doesn’t deliver that anymore. Cumbersome controllers and mapping out spaces don’t deliver that. Clunky interfaces don’t deliver that. If we keep accepting mediocrity that’s what these companies will continue to deliver.
