      This is great British comedy. I can see why some people who are not used to this brand of comedy might feel uncomfortable, but exchanging jabs between friend and peer comedians is par for the course in British comedy, and is both endearing and hilarious.

      This is why Ricky seems to get so much flak from people. Not to be condescending, but it seems very apparent that people just don't understand the intelligence behind most of their humour, because even the seemingly ridiculous stuff is dearly perfectly executed and comedy fucking genius.

    Man i love Ricky, he's so quick with his wit.
    Nevertheless, i prefer Steve, he's SO sharp his comebacks pack more punch and there's an intelligence to his jokes that floor me every time. - His comedic blueprints are all over the office and extras. - Without Ricky as the mouthpiece those shows wouldn't have worked, but without Merchant the timing, pace, and content would have fallen flat. - Steve has my vote everytime.
    Even tho the Office is a daunting comedic project to overcome, i truly hope they reunite and start having fun writing together again.

      It really is; and because they just talked bollocks, and not about much topical stuff, other than Pop Idol and a few other TV shows, it hasn’t aged at all, really.
      I pretty much listen back to all the radio shows, podcasts, audiobooks, etc, at least a few times a year (because I’m sad that way haha), and they still make me laugh like they did when I first heard the XFM show, around 18 years ago...jeez, that makes me feel old haha.
      I always look for the XFM comments on RUclips, when I watch certain videos that have some connection to the show; such as songs or bands that were either played on the show, or were featured in either ‘RockBusters’, ‘Songs of Phrase’, ‘Song with a Story’, etc- particularly when I watch/listen to ‘Wonderful Tonight’, by Eric Clapton haha.
      Them talking about ‘Wonderful Tonight’, as it plays, with Karl trying to convince Ricky and Steve that the protagonist of the song is a “little fella in a wheelchair”, with seemingly less than zero evidence, is one of my favourite things of all time haha.

    this is the most awkward yet funniest things i have ever watched, ricky and steve are two of my favourite comedians but i still feel like there is tension between them sometimes. it must be difficult living in rickys shadow. stephen deserves more recognition !

  • @Isleofskye
    @Isleofskye 11 лет назад +4

    No tension at all, my friend.
    Steve prefers the background which is why even their combined Website has only Ricky's name. Its all a funny act.

      bentnob I have a crush on Stephen too, I think he's a great guy.

    • @bentnob
      @bentnob 9 лет назад

      why are you telling me? i think he is a comedy god, his xfm material doesn't depict him as the most altruistic man though, and he is pretty unattractive as far as i can work out as i am heterosexual man. but yeah looks aren't everything. i think any woman who fancies him should try to let him know because even if he's not interested at least he will be flattered and it will help his confidence.

    • @yenee94
      @yenee94 9 лет назад +1

      bentnob ahh, if only there's a way to do that :) I think he's too big of a celebrity that he'll hear that all the time anyway. Btw I'm not really attracted to his looks, it's his voice that I think is really attractive. yup.
