When you said "You can tell that guy grew up watching him." you were actually spot on. That was Sandro Tonali crying; boyhood AC Milan fan. When he was at Brescia Calcio and a young up-and-coming talent, there were a lot of football clubs looking to sign him, but when AC Milan came calling he only wanted to sign for us; he was even willing to take a pay cut to help fecilitate the deal. As for Ibrahimovic himself, he has cemented his place as a legend for this club. His second spell involved him not only contributing on the field, but off the field where he helped mentor and inspire a really young squad to not only qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 7 years and end years of decline and poor performances, but to become actual Champions of Italy in the 2021-22 season. He may not have spent as much time here at the club as other legends, but what he has achieved with the short time he's had with us is simply remarkable.
I had a feeling he did by the passion cry. Zlatan had a amazing career and the celebration of his career was amazing. It was so cool to watch and I know in that stadium 🏟️ that day was a day for all the fans to remember.
You'll never see so much love like in Italy especially like Milan.. and fyi none knew he was gonna retire from football, everyone thought he was just gonna leave the club to play somewhere else. Look how Cristiano was tributed and compare that to this.
