Let's start off by saying this - Cody Baker no longer wants to kill me. We met up in Norwalk and talked about last race. His car broke a convertor and had tranny issues and it just wasn't the faster car that race. Love you, Cody.
The 2nd Amendment Car is getting faster every week and we hope to hurt some feelings this weekend in Norwalk Ohio at Summit Motorsports Park. Our feelings were hurt since we missed out on their famous fried bologna and ice cream. Maybe next year.
We had problems in testing on Friday against #ryanmartin and our exhaust fell off on the track! Thanks to our awesome track staff keeping everybody safe and for holding the race until we could locate the missing pieces that flew off. The car isn't running on all cylinders besides, but we have some help from #daddydave and his mechanic Drama on Saturday. Little nervous with Daddy Dave on the keyboard because he blows shit up, but we'll see what his tune-up can do against our first draw. We hope we can draw someone and get in their head a little bit, but instead we draw the guy who's 3rd in points in our first round.
Right outta the bucket, we draw Jerry Bird of Bird Boyz Racing who just last week, won NPK Bandimere. We think we've got The 2nd Amendment car running on all 8 cylinders now & have fixed our wiring issues. We're going to give Jerry Bird everything we got and mow down the tree. He thinks he'll be ahead of us by 2 cars. We're about to find out.
Jerry Bird isn't happy with us. Like Cody Baker, he thinks we jumped the light. We didn't, we mowed it down! With help from Daddy Dave & Drama, The 2nd Amendment car is now as fast as it can be, and probably as fast as it's been all season.
Second round, we draw Larry Larson. We hope to send him back to Kansas or Missouri, or wherever he's from, lol. By the way, the left side exhaust has fallen off with every pass and is holding on tight to the O2 sensor. EVERY. PASS. Anyway, let's hope the bailing wire holds another round and maybe that Jerry Bird tune-up will work with Larry Larson.
Larry Larson & I leave the light at the same time and we are even till around 330ft -I grab the scramble button and there goes the exhaust again, dragging all the way. SMH. Back in the pits, we apply more bailing wire and pray.
Next up, third round we draw ‪@KyeKelleyRacing‬ . After outrunning Jerry Bird and Larry Larson, plus knowing that Lizzy will be coming to pick Kye up after he loses, we're ready for this round!!
We pull up to the light, I let go of the button & see green. Kye's in my periphery, then he disappears. I look over and see his win light is on. As I made a pass, I heard lots of popping and noise from the motor, and of course the fucking exhaust is dragging by the O2 sensor. I'd have ruined a $100K motor just to outrun him and make it to the final 4!! I let off, threw it in neutral & still was ahead. We both didn't see the red light, but I was so far ahead that Kye didn't think he'd won till he saw his win light. Hats off to Kye - he got it done. I anticipated the light and went red. You just can't guess on these lights - proven!
