#31 Native Instruments SUPERCHARGER (Plug-in Review)
Recently Native Instruments released a FREE (for a limited time) plug-in called SUPERCHARGER. Native Instruments boasts that "Supercharger" is dripping with high-octane attitude of a one-of-a-kind tube compressor.
I've been able to get my hands on it and test it out and I like that its super simple to use. It's definitely one of the easier compressors to set up and begin working with.

Great review - especially for someone trying to work out and understand compression. There's a lot of back and forth between compression being on/off so you can hear the difference clearly
I've been using this for a week and love it. It would be a steal at $50.
Great video, im finishing my Komplete Ultimate install now! Just got the upgrade today. Was looking thru videos about saturation plugs and here this one is, perfect. Ill have to play with this one
I grab this the other day myself and I loved it for the color it gives it good saturation and gives it a little more bite to the vocals or whateva I really like it you cant beat it for a Christmas gift
i love this compressor
Wow this is a very powerful compressor
Supercharger is now FREE with Komplete start.
Thanks for the heads-up! Lovin the comp, what a steal!
Great review, I've been using this on almost everything now. Love that it has a real personality.
I was wondering, what software do you use to record your videos? I know most mac users use screenflow and I've not seen such a high quality Windows screen capture video before.
Very nice explained. I guess this channel is no longer active, so can someone else answer the question, if this plugin replaces normal compressors like Fruity Compressor for example? Can I use Supercharger for everything instead of normal compressors?
Yeah you can pretty much use this plugin on everything. It's easy to use and has amazing quality
esosemboy Thanks, I do so since the time I posted this comment 😁
thanks man
whats should be used more the input gain or the output gain...and should they be equal level ???
Hey, even though this is free currently, doesnt this VST do the same job as a basic compressor that comes with any DAW?
Well stock compressors would probably be more flexible and give you more control over certain settings but this compressor is much more colorful and has personality. Basically they are different, I would download this ASAP if you haven't.
Hey I had got my Supercharger plugin for free also, but now it says file cant be found, and being that it was free Native instruments tech support wont help. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
i love the way u used soneq to make the bottom end more fatter.. is it just an eq and u turnd the low end higher or did u do something more complex... the mix sounded sexy and full with that switched on. but i noticed it had a drive button on it aswel... is the drive on it not good enuff so you would need another saturation plug in like supercharger?
Hey Naya,
Nothing complex about what I'm doing, in fact the more and more experience I get, I find myself being less complicated about things. The SonEQ is strictly just adding low end, though it is modelled off of analog curves and circuits so I wouldn't be surprised if it was adding a little extra spice as I boosted. I just feel the low end curve on that plug-in sounds really solid.
I'd say 75% of the Drum sound is in the sound selection and the rest is just little tweaks. It's not that the drive knob isn't useful, it's just that I didn't need it, at least up to this point in the balance. Maybe when other elements are introduced it might be something I need to add. At the point the drums are add right now I don't think I really need any more saturation.
Cheers.
yeah this mix sounded soliddddd. not swuashed just nicely fitted together and sexy low end punch thanx alot for replying i really appreciate it :D maybe u could check my track on my youtube ?? i made it on reason but moving onto logic with vsts and ur video helped me so thank you agen mate :D
supercharger = soundgoodizer?
+Dylan Cartmell No. Soundgoodizer = OTT (xfer records/ableton)
Soundgoodizer is multiband, since it's literally maximus' presets (maximus has compression and saturation in it)
Anyone knows if this will work on Windows Xp Sp3?
Thanks.
It should being it's only an effects module check the specs on
Native Instruments to be sure but I don't think you should have
any probs with it.
I agree with RicochetRockNice - Check the website before downloading and make sure it is compatible. Or you could be like me and just try it anyways and see what happens lol.
Cheers!
Website says just Windows 7 & 8
Well that is your answer than. But like I said I would still try it anyways, I always do. Sometimes it works by fluke. I would say to upgrade to Win 7 if you can, it is much faster than XP.
I have a question, is this like (or somewhat like) Dada Life Sausage Fattener???
I'm not sure the inner workings of the sausage fattener but I'm sure you could get similar results.
@@ModernMixing Can you fatten my sausage?
wow!
Oh I missed your voice xx
haha thanks bud!
Excelent! :D
thanks man
