- In this episode we’re hitting up Puno, Peru. And more specifically the man made Floating Islands of Uros which are made of reeds and Taquile Island, a UNESCO site known for its unique textile art.
We learn not only about the culture of the Uros people and also go for a ride in a classic Lake Titicaca reed boat, but also how the Floating Islands in Peru are built and maintained.
Then on Taquile Island Peru we meet the Taquileños communities and have a traditional lunch of quinoa soup, Lake Titicaca trout and try Muña tea. We learn about how their fascinating customs and how what they wear signifies whether they are married or not.
Watch on to discover why Puno Lake Titicaca simply has to be on your South America travel itinerary.

wow . amazing beautiful place .
Stunning isn’t it!
My tour to puno was the second most exploitive tour I've made in the entire world. I felt sick to the stomach on the floating island with nowhere to escape it.
Most exploitive tour was the mines of potosi in bolibia
Amazing! You managed to travel there from Uk last year?
No, we had been in South America for almost a year by that point and this was filmed a while before the pandemic. We actually got repatriated from Peru last year at the start of the pandemic 👍
How many feet long and wide is
the biggest Uros Floating Island would you guess?
