I bought a rg351p and its great i love all the games i grew up with but i came across videos of SMW rom hacks and i love the idea of homebrewed mario maps but i havent been able to get them working on my rg351 so fingers crossed that this is all i need to do and if so then you sir have made my week

Thank you, this brings new life to the old nes. Might get a nes clone system. And a cartridge that takes micro SD for hacked roms. Until then I'll just use my firestick with RetroArch. New life to old console.

My question is can i use ips patching to re enable patched glitches in any games you can ips patch (for instance updated/later release pokemon roms or even up to stardew valley on switch) 🤷♂️🤔
idk why, but when I put the patch on it doesn't work, it just gives me a white screen. the original game was 8 mb and then after patching with a patch that was 455.37kb the game turned into 455.37 kB, I don't think that's supposed to happen but can you please tell me if I am doing something wrong?

My problem is when it ask me what rom to apply it to the rom always disappears
hello denver, my rom came with pcm files and it says "You MUST rename the rom to exactly "f-zero-hybrid.sfc" (or simply "f-zero-hybrid" if you have file extensions hidden) for the soundtrack to work" which i did, but the pcm files don't want to work. thanks for your tutorial, have a great day.
Those are sound files for an enhanced MSU-1 rom. Those need to be in the same folder as the rom and named the same, iirc

Okay i patched the file with the orignal rom.. but now i cant open the rom hack with the original..?? it says 'Choose file from archive' and theres nothing to choose from. [Btw im using the fceux emulator and i want romhacks to work on it..]
Ok, so there's a lot to unpack there. Romhacks can be kind of finicky. Make sure you are patching the correct version of the original rom. Some roms got revisions to fix small error, such as SMB3. Which rom are you patching? Another thing is, try different emulators. A romhack that doesn't work in fceux may work in nestopia

I can't select the ips patch to use because it's inside another folder and when I click it it says it's not an ips file but I also can't move the file out onto the desktop cos it wants a password. Wtf what password? I have no idea why I need a password to do things on my own computer. What do I do?
Turns out the password is in the readme file. I should've known that sooner since I was born with psychic abilities.
Is it possible to apply the patch using an android phone instead of a PC?
To answer my own question: Use the UniPatcher app found in the Play Store

Hmmmm you may need to use the unzipped rom, I am not sure. It's been a long time since I did this video. Which game are you trying to patch and where did you get the patch?
@@DenverGamer i downloaded the rom in the description of this video ruclips.net/video/4QZgmsy-WqM/видео.html. i get a zip file and then i just put that in my folder with all my other roms. but it isnt working even if all other roms are zip files as well. if i unzip it i get a .bps file.
@@Zejoant Ok, first of all, that game looks like it's gonna be brutal, so I hope you are a badass. When you unzip the file you will notice it is a .bps file, not an .ips file. Here is an article on the same site about how to use "Beat" (a patching program). I have never used this program, but will probably make a video on it. My problem is when I download a file from romhacking, it downloads as a rar file. So the lunar doesn't recognize it.

The lunar doesn't read my original rom. I tried to unzip my rom and still nothing. Any advice? It's a USA rom as well. I'm confused. Thanks.
TipsyLand sometimes you have to have a certain version of the rom. There should be a read me file that was downloaded with the .Ips file. Otherwise you can to the website and there should be instructions.
Doesn‘t work on my Computer, because the Programm states that the IPS File is not an IPS File…
It could be that you do not have an IPS file, or the extension needs to be changed if it is an IPS file. I have not heard of that problem before. Thanks.
@@DenverGamer Its a "Floating IPS File" but i don't know how to Ptach it, because the Programm can't find the Files. I can only Copy+Paste them, what resolves in the Message that the IPS File is not an IPS File...
Just remember that everything is unzipped before you click on apply patch,then click first on the patch then on the game you want to patch and there you go😁

now my question is... why the fk does no one release the patched game? what is the point of making an ips file? Half the time they break for no apparent reason.
Knight of Carrion Because the ips patch is not copyrighted material, the rom is. They usually break because you have to apply them to a certain version or revision of the game, usually stated in the read me file.
Word shit is so frustrating considering this used to not be so much of a thing. I'm sick of having to look up tutorials to do simple shit we used to be able to do
@@DenverGamer weird, thought i replied to this. Thanks for the tutorial. The ips file I got didnt have a read me. I guess the rom hacker didnt think about telling people what version was needed.
