Exjw critical thinker did a video on this and if I remember right he said that technically loushe is right.but if the rank and file were to an announce this very same thing to the elders that they would be disfellowshipped.my thinking is that if any governing body member has a vote in decisions then he is in fact a member and he absolutely lied to the courts.I guarantee you he has corporate credit cards in the orgs name and his name.that should be enough proof right there.and he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law for contempt of court.

@@exjehovahswitness Thanks for responding! I have not attended since about 2003...Some family try to get me to go back and other family have "marked" me. I just do not even like to talk to "them" any more as no one addresses my "rebuttals" directly, then they go into shut down mode. To be honest, there is so much "information" from GB I really do not know what they believe any more (and more importantly, why they believe that way...like it is OK to lie if you are under pressure...LOL/BS). Guys you have to show governments and people in charge of protecting human rights directly from the official website of Jehovah's Witnesses videos where they totally exclude people who choose not to follow the rules imposed by the governing body, only in this way can it be that the government realizes the gravity of the situation
Isn’t it also true that the Watchtower’s definition of lying is to tell a falsehood to someone who is ENTITLED to the truth? Anyone deemed as not entitled to know the truth, therefore, can be told falsehoods.
If I only knew then what I know now, I could have added fifty productive years to my life. Instead I was robbed by the JW’s of the best years of my life, they absconded with my 50+ years and I can’t replace them.

Every JW on the corporations must be an elder. If any elder on a corporation does anything out of step with the Governing body, the Governing body simply deletes that man as an elder. Once removed as an elder he is automatically deleted as an officer of the corporation. This is how the Governing body fully controls each corporation without being an officer of them.

If I still was a JW I would definitely feel very embarrassed. If a member of the GB acts that way what should I expect from those who are under his “direction”? I don’t know. I guess active JW would imitate members of the GB because they are viewed as the “exemplary brothers” in the organization.

This is just a corporate play on words. As an individual he claims he’s nothing yet when he joins the other idiots in a meeting together then they become a corporate entity as the GB and only as a GB does he have any authority.

It's quite awful that they make the excuse "Jesus didn't respond to every accusation against him" when trying to use legal loopholes to avoid testimony. Except that Jesus responded to most accusations against his character with hard evidence and sound logic, and just refused to answer silly questions like "which wife does this hypothetical dude get in paradise?" Though I'm agnostic I do enjoy reading Jesus calling out the Pharisees. Legally speaking and in the context of the WT corporation, Gerrit may have been right, but ethically speaking, it's horrendous and cowardly behavior. If he's appointed by Jesus wouldn't he imitate his beloved sky-brother and courageously defend himself and the organization? Or admit that there was a problem and assure everyone that he would work hard to implement better policies? Nope, just go hide behind legal jargon to avoid telling the truth. So much for courage...

I think Gerrit is exploiting technical loopholes. For example it's probably technically true when he says he doesn't have these authorities as an individual. He alone doesn't and cannot direct anything. It's done by the Governing Body as a collective. There is also the Watchtower vs The Governing Body angle. Legally and technically speaking, the Watchtower is not under the direction of the Governing Body. Watchtower is a corporation headed by other men who are under the _religious_ direction of the Governing Body. From a strictly legal and corporate standpoint, these men might not actually be accountable to the Governing Body. They are only religiously accountable to them and will face religious consequences - be deleted as elders or have their membership in the religion terminated - if they don't act in accord with the wishes of the GB. There might be clause in the corporate rulebook of Watchtower that says one must be a JW elder in good standing to qualify as a director of Watchtower or some other similar criteria that indirectly makes them accountable to the GB without them actually being legally under the direction of the GB. Part of the reason they have all these various corporations is so that they can play these kinds of games exploiting loopholes to get their way while technically not breaking any laws.

This CLEARLY means that The Governing Body is The Most High God over Jehovah's Witnesses.
God means Authority in the Bible. There is a Most High God/Authority.
That is why God recognizes there are many Gods but says there is only one God. There are many in position of authority over others but only ONE Authority they should all be obeying and following- The Most High God/ The Most High Authority.
Example: The Most High God made Moses like a God to Pharaoh. (Ex 7:1)
This meant that Moses was given Authority over Pharaoh and Pharaoh had to listen to Moses, while Moses had to listen and obey the Most High Authority/The Most High God.
To reiterate God means Authority and The Governing Body is claiming to be The Most High Authority(The Most High God) over Jehovah's Witnesses.
