I got a leather fossil satchel as my birthday gift this year and I could not be more happy and excited for my new companion for many years to come. I can't wait for my bad to age naturally with use and gain some character. For me a well worn but still loved and cared for leather is much more beautiful with an impeccable, brand new leather piece.

i still don't get how to tell difference between real full grain leather and geniune leather with pu finish on top which resembles structure of full grain.

It depends on the type of imperfections. Striations and pores are not imperfections but a natural occurrence that happens to animals of all kinds. But pimples under the skin, huge scars are a little different. Unless the brand is looking for "tough" weathered style leather, you won't find that on most bags with a decent price point and quality standard.

He is full of it. Leather that has too many imperfection is a cheap leather that comes from injured or covered with pimples and scars animals.

As much as I love vegetable tanned leather it looks very crafty. It doesn't have that high fashion look and the color range is very limited.
