As a child fan of elo in the late 70s i had no idea of their evolution and overlap with the move at the time. All these old clips emerging are absolutely fascinating.
This was filmed just six days after their Top of the Pops appearance for California man. They have worked out some choreography (the leg kicks). Their costumes are pretty much the same as the last performance, except Bev is now wearing the raspberry beret that Jeff was wearing on Top of the Pops.
@@highpath4776He wrote songs played and sung on the first ELO album and played (uncredited) on the second. He left to preserve his friendship with Jeff. They remain close friends to this day.

@@lhpl I think Mark is referring to Rosie Langley, the violinist who has toured with Jeff Lynne's ELO in the past, not Rosie Vela, she's been out of the picture for around two decades.
Curious that despite Woody not appearing with ELO, they're using the customised bass he used in The Move, and would also been seen with in his later solo career.
It's 10538 Overture, first song on the first Electric Light Orchestra album, album title as sold in the US was "No Answer" which if I read correctly was a mistake, record company asked what the album title would be and they noted there was "No Answer" which someone thought was the album title, if I'm not mistaken in the UK it was just released as "Electric Light Orchestra". Enjoy! :)
Offspring was a short-lived English pop duo of the early 1970s, consisting of Mike Brayn and John Howard, who met at Hurstpierpoint College in Sussex, United Kingdom. They released just one single, ‘Windfall’ (1972). Their planned studio album was never completed. Members • John Howard • Mike Brayn • Vijay Amarnani: Bass • Jo Czarnecki: Percussion • Bill Boston: Flute single: • Windfall / She Lives in a Big House (1972) • Windfall / Deeper Magic
This is just pure seventies, two great lead singers performing together, what a combination, remember it well 🎸🕶️❤️❤️🎹
Nothing could have prepared me for the wardrobe on the first performance
Loved this era of ELO, Eldorado, etc
First time this ELO fan has seen this. Lynne's piano skills are niftier than I realised.
great times... greetings from Italy...

Gracias por estas sensacionales imagenes de nuestro amado Jeff Lynne

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻... Tremendo hacer doblete como The Move y ELO...
Anyone else notice how the riff from Paul Weller's The Changingman is taken directly from the ELO song.
My first real rock concert were in Odense, Denmark. Warm up group: The Move - Headliner: Deep Purple :-D (Y) 1970/71 not sure :-D
“California Man” pointed in the direction that Roy Wood would take in Wizzard.
"The Move" was a 'groovey' band, 4sure! Jeff Lynne & Roy Wood...together! How cool, is that?? XO 2023
CADA VEZ MÁS SORPRESAS EN EL MEJOR CANAL ELODEVI 👏👏👏
Esse Jeff é uma figura kkk
I sure wish my world would turn again
Good work!
Finally one ,with that amazing quality !( thanks),ready for evil woman from supersonic :)
Great group The Move
this was the month roy left elo no wonder whys he's not here
He is there singing lead.
I think you're not here! He's in the green with the huge saxophone thingy.
@@seltaeb3302 As in Roy is in the Move, but not in ELO (though he played on the record of 10538) Roy left and formed Wizzard.
I just saw this video where Roy goes into details on why he left ELO. ruclips.net/video/CMAN9MxfA9k/видео.htmlsi=S892EbIMd82C_eQi

super
roys in the move in the green jacket but doesnt appear with elo.....great footage though
This is a nice slice of early Jeff Lynne. Will he ever tour again? Let's hope so. And don't forget to bring Rosie on board again!
I don't think Rosie Vela has been in the picture for years - more than a decade perhaps?
@@lhpl I think Mark is referring to Rosie Langley, the violinist who has toured with Jeff Lynne's ELO in the past, not Rosie Vela, she's been out of the picture for around two decades.
WOW!!!! Did not know California Man was by The Move. My respect for Cheap Trick went down a notch.
Cheap Trick were huge fans of the Move. That should be your takeaway.

He was initially in ELO, but left as they were too wild for him.
@@seltaeb3302 More a mix of Don Arden wanted Two Groups for double management fees, and there was a musical drift from Jeff's future Ideas
whoever that is miming on Roy’s bass probably didn’t have one of his own.
So Roy played with jeff & Bev as the Move in part 1 and then not for ELO by part 2? Was this the last time they performed together maybe?
Endcof and era. Start of a new
very symbolic that Jeff appears dressed as the pirate ship captain for ELO, accentuating the fact that he is now the leader.
@elodevi what is the name of the second song ? I never heard it, it sounds great
Or the tv show from 1974 (on the third day medley)
Na primeira parte baixou o Jerry Lee Lewis no Jeff, só faltou tocar piano com os pés igual Jerry Lee fazia
All bands are at their best when their at their weirdest.
Jeff está parecendo Jerry Lee Lewis no piano
Funny 😄
That second song sounded great, I'd never heard it b4, what is the title ?
10538 overture ELO first single
10538 Overture. It was the first single by The Electric Light Orchestra (as they were known then). It's a great track.

Jeff's vocal's sound just like Roy Wood's.
Maybe that's because he's miming to Roy's vocals on the ELO track?
ELO song brilliant, never liked Move one, but love the Move band
In 0:51, what's this Offspring band?? I don't meet information for this band, only about the band of 90's.

Thunderclap Newman - 'Something in the Air'
It's Debris by The Faces, Ronnie Lane on vocals about the market at Club Row.
How to double your fee on a TV show.
....and we got lip syncing on American Bandstand
Pretty forgetful song, but loads of funand the band shows it.
Countdown man has lost his marbles, after transferred from the Big Match.
That intro music was ripped off from Frank Zappa, “Hungry Freaks, Daddy”
no, they both rip off The Rolling Stones’ Satisfaction
I was never a fan of the 50's revival ELO. Much prefer their synth and strings sound later on
God, ELO sucked. They sucked so bad.
Says a fucking nobody.
