Apparently the names "Fanny" and "Ortensia" were used interchangably for both Oswald's love interests - after both went nameless for some time. So the names were later retroactively used when referring to them. So you could argue Fanny sort of "evolved" into Ortensia rather than being intended to be a character separate from her. Like how Oswald started off cranky and old and then was redesigned to be younger.
What if fanny died in the thinner disaster :o

That Person That's what I was thinking too or from giving birth to the Bunny Children which I think she was their biological mother and Oswald's first wife.
I know I made her an angel in my Oswald comic and I wasn't sure if toons have souls in which I figured if did get thinnered perhaps saving Oswald, she gained a soul for her kindness and sweetness.

I can't remember...did the character of Oswalt sorta "create" Mickey Mouse? Which means that Mickey wasn't Walt Disney's first creation?
Ye , oswald came first but mickey came and took the spotlight.
Walt crested Oswald when he and Ub Iwerks and Roy were still working with Universal. However they had a falling out with the studio and due to some terms in the contract, they weren’t allowed to use Oswald after going independent. So they created Mickey.

Technically the Bunny Children predate Ortensia (they were delivered by storks in Oswald's debut short, Poor Papa, which was the style at the time), though they are seen in the next shot in bed with a bunny woman. Likely intended to be Fanny.

@@Angie2343 Fair point. I'm not sure if Epic Mickey confirmed they are Oswald and Ortensia's biological kids, they could be adopted for all we know.

I'm not sure I care too much about them changing Sadie's name to Ortensia. Sure Mickey and Minnie and Donald and Daisy share beginning letters... but they have those letters for alliteration with Mouse and Duck. Oswald already lost that since his name doesn't begin with an "R" for Rabbit.

I think Fanny was originally Oswald's wife and biological mother of the Bunny Children until she died and that's why Ortensia is in the picture.
That's weird, because according Epic Mickey 2 and the comics ("Tales of Wasteland"), is clear that Ortensia is the mother.

@@shademoonrisereilly5843 Epic Mickey is its own canon to the shorts. In the shorts the Bunny Children are around before Ortensia enters the picture. Epic Mickey also pretends the post-Disney Oswald shorts never happened, or at least are never referenced.

Actually I think that ortensia might in fact be fanny when the world for the forgotten was being created she and Oswald probably reunited with each other and she was changed into a cat by some kind of magic and when Oswald saw this he asked her if he could call her ortensia because he felt the name suited her better with her now being a cat and she agreed because she liked the idea and her new name just stuck

@ilikethecoke Oswald was not Walt's first creation but did come before the well known characters like Mickey and Goofy. Pete however was from Walt's Alice series and therefore older than Oswald.
this comment has nothing to do with the vid but the one before the Haunted Mansion vids can you please elaborate more on the characters for that attraction? And my favorite is either Mattehorn, Pirates, or Space Mountain so could you do any of those as well?

No. Oswald's mother was obviously a rabbit, but their father was Disney himself. X^) . 'Ortensia is a kitty, and I think they could have picked a name for her that was more like Minnie and Daisy. Why not Olivia?
Man i was so frustrated on this! There was a concept art called fantasyland that showed mickey in a twisted version of the classic alice in wonderland with a giant cheshire cat missing a tooth in the background.i thought it was a real world in the game so i looked EVERYWHERE to find it.but i realised it wasnt.what a waste of time. YAYYYY. >:(

@tessatoz Maybe in appearance, but Ortensia has the other girlfriend Fanny's personality, so this cat Ortensia is NOT the same as Saddie.

Something you should have pointed out is the shipping war between OswaldXSadie and OswaldXFanny. Some people don't like OsXSa because Sadie has done bad things to him from what i heard (something about Sadie Cheating on Oswald) and that she's a cat. So they prefer Fanny because to my knowledge, she always looks out for Oswald and she helps him in some war as a nurse. I hope i don't get flamed for mentioning this.

They should've have named him Reke the rabbit and if I was a cartoonist my star would be Cario the cat and his girlfriend would be Carly the cat and his enemy is Pete but has a difference with the Disney Pete he's a bear no peg leg no Spenser's and wears just pants I've made other characters like Harold The horse Hannah the horse and also Cario has children like Collin and Charlie the cat and one character I would make are Mario the mouse and Elvin the Elephant as Cario's two best friends and other characters like Tyrone the tiger, Benny, Jerry the jaguar, Harry the hippo, Ryley the Rino, Glioth the Gorilla, Mark the Monkey, Harry the Ostrich, Henry the hound dog, Wario the wiener dog, Calvin the Ranger, Shark man, Thalia the cat, Galvin the goat, Freddy the fox, The shadow man and more.
