Who else thinks that Disney should make an Epic Mickey animated movie?
Unfortunately that's never going to happen. Warren Spector, director of the EM games wanted to produce a film but Disney wouldn't budge.

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit character is now at Disney's California Adventure Park, and I'm glad that he is getting a lot more recognition thanks to game, Epic Mickey. I'm really looking forward to seeing him when I go back to Disneyland next month. :D I'm going to wear my Oswald ears when I take a picture with him. :D:D:D
Because of that I’d like to think he got a heart sure not as strong as mickey’s but strong enough to leave wasteland because enough people remember him

I don't think of Oswald as a villain, just misunderstood just cause he was jealous of his brother doesn't mean he can't have a HEART. I can see what his backstory be in Kingdom Hearts III.

The story and the game would have actually been more interesting if Oswald was one of the villains, even if it means having him transform into the Blot, but then again that probably would have made the game a bit more darker then it already is. So this story works too :)

with the mickey shorts being brought back i hope oswald is fully brought into them(and not as cameos like in "get a horse" or when mickey was taking out the trash.) as i loved his story so much(kinda wish in power of illusion we saw the storm blot as a final boss instead of just fighting maleficent the entire game.) and like how along with sora(be awesome if he & goofy's son max appeared in kingdom hearts with sora,kairi,riku donald & goofy exploring the wasteland.) he's started to appear in tokyo disneyland.

Mickey Mouse's Half-Brother in the Cartoons on Disney Channel. It'll be a Gold Mine, with Frank Welker reprising the role of the Rabbit, and I don't mean Roger Rabbit.
I would still like Roger to appear on more cartoons and Disney channel more often as well. Hopefully with Charles Fleischer reprising the role.

Gotta love Oswald, even if his cartoons are simple, a lot like Mickey's old ones, they still have that humorous and lovable charm. I knew that another person took over the Oswald cartoons, but I didn't know he kept appearing until 43'. Great find.

My introduction to Oswald was a wrapped canvas I found at a Disney store at the mall.
Great bio, with one minor quibble - Iwerks' name was pronounced "ubb" (as in "bubble"), not "oob." But that's a minor detail. I think I've developed a softer spot for Oswald than for Mickey - at least the Disney/Iwerks Oswald - and I'm glad he finally got his time in the spotlight.

Yeah it'd be nice if Oswald started appearing in new stuff at Disney- not only in the Epic Mickey games, but perhaps in the new Mickey Mouse shorts, or that famously rumoured 2D Mickey Mouse film (an actual animated feature part of the canon- that's a novel).
This was the first video of Animat that I have watched. It’s also where I fully learned about Oswald’s history.
I envisioned a live action/animationed film focused on the Disney characters and taking place in Disney World park inspirationed of Epic Mickey, House of Mouse, Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Oswald the lucky rabbit is an iconic animated star that needs to come back as he has made cameos in films like big hero 6 sine Disney brought him back in 2006.
Why do I have a feeling that now that Epic Mickey's out and thanks to the story of Oswald starting to like Mickey again in the game, there's gonna be a MickeyxOswald fan pairing, along with fanart and fanfictions?
It just goes to shows, how 1 character made an impact with 3 studios. (Disney, Mintz, and Universal.) I'm glad that Disney got him back.

Totally! I think the series should be about Oswald's adventures in Wastleland (the series would take place after the games) and then when the series ends they make a movie about Oswald escaping Wasteland and entering the real world and visiting Mickey again! And lots of plushes and merchandise!
After over 80 years they finally got Oswald back, well better late then never. I wonder if we'll see Oswald again.

that's right, it's coming in fall 2012! There is going to be a co-op mode in that game where one player plays mickey mouse and his magic paint brush, and player two plays Oswald who uses his little taser and can fly with his ears. It's called "Disney epic mickey the power of two".
I wanted to see Oswald fuse with the blot and fight Mickey in an ultimate battle of revenge.

@SilverZeo88 Rumor among Disneyland Resort cast members is that Oswald will be included with the refurbishment of the entire California Adventure park. They are going retro in the park and emphasizing on the vintage Disney characters, including Oswald.
I would like to think Walt would be happy about Oswald being back into the family :)
for me if they ever give oswald his own show i think they shold have billy west voiceing him and Mae Whitman doing the voice of the girlfrend i think they do a good job

Amazing video, I enjoyed this so much. I am personally a HUGE fan of Disney and Nintendo, the truth behind Disneys many wonderful and forgotten characters is truly amazing, when I first saw it in Best Buy when I was 9, I immediately bought it. After the near 7 years this game has been out, it was and still is my favorite video game of all time, thank you for this amazing serious!

So orginally Oswald was ment to be a Villian who wanted to steal Mickeys heart so he could escape wherever he was stuck and get his fame back? Talk about dark.
It's extremely disturbing that all inhabitants of that land.....lose their heart......THAT IS DARK AS HELL.

Actually, Iwerks was not always on Walt's side. As we know, he did leave him to start his own studio once.
I want an Oswald plushie too!! But even though I had found pictures of Oswald plushies and stuff in Disney shops before my recent visit to Disney World, I couldn't find any of it in Disney World or a Disney Store in a mall near where I live.
they say that in the game yes but from everyone who has made the games, and disney corperation itselfhas said oswald is mickeys older brother.. even promoted it that way... so again will always be mickey's older brother.
Nice job, Mat. I hope that Oswald, Gus, Ortensia, Mad Doctor, and Phantom Blot get used again in future Disney CArtoons. Heck, they can even add Oswald and Ortensia to Mickey Mouse Club House.
Part of me is sad that we never got to see the original pitch of Mickey vs Oswald in the game.
Buuuut the company DID work hard to get his rights and it would be a waste to make him outright unlikable.
HOWEVER!!!
What they should have done was have the Blot take on oswalds image to play against Mickey. Make the mouse unsure of the rabbit or not. But once Oswald reveals the sacrifice he had to endure, the blot then takes on BOTH attributes of Mickey AND Oswald to mock the two of them.
We would’ve had our cake then ate it.

@AnimeYoshiGirl: Walt overlooked the fact that he himself didn't own the character, so I don't think he would've been able to sue Mintz in that case.
Just a little cool bit Id like to mention here,in the new short that Disney made that premiered before showing Frozen called "Get a Horse" if you look closely at the end of the short,you can find Oswald popping up before him leaving.
You know I sure wish you could continue with the epic mickey files including some of the characters you forgot like mickey mouse,animatronic donald,animatronic daisy,and animatronic goofy I just know you can do it because everyone has to know about the characters from epic mickey
No, he's not a Meet and Greet Character yet. The gas station is a reference to the character. He will be a Meet and Greet character someday when the character's future is determined.

It would have been so sad if Oswald ended as a villian in the game, they seemed to have a lot of ideas that never come trough. It feels like a behind the scenes of a Disney Movie and hear about stuff that was "to epic to be in the projekt". It looks to me that it definitely will be a follower to this, not a 2 but a game with Mickey in it. Would be fun if disney started more with games and could tell wonderfull stories in them like this one, I think it will work as long they don´t hold back.
I first heard of Oswald At Disneyworld in a biography video about Walt. Later, I saw him in Nintendo power, got nerdy, decided Oswald was awesome...had trouble waiting for Summer to end and the game to come out.
