That concludes my third and final test video with the Samsung s24 ultra. It seems like with each experimental video I learn something new with these mobile cameras. My final takeaway is to use pro mode over expert raw in these more creative situations. Thanks for watching!
U can use all lenses in expert raw at 12mp you had 50mp mode on
Check ! Double check ! Triple check ! Before you post?
Expert Raw do support all the lenses just need to change the resolution in settings!
you can use all of the camera if you set the resolution up to 24mp ,, 50mp will apply to certain lenses only
you can shoot ProRAW all the lenses, you have to pay attention to resolution
True 💯 as he selected 50MP Resolution
you can shoot expert raw in ultra wide, you just have to switch to 12mp
I realized that while phones can give more than sufficient images, there is a feeling that holding a camera gives. I found that using a camera and looking at the frame for longer imprints the image longer in my mind. Especially with film cameras, every shot I take, I can recall in my mind very well. Maybe its placebo, but I think using a camera that makes photography enjoyable leads to better shots.
That's mainly due to evf/Rangefinder/optical viewfinder
@@datdudeinredwell even my coolpix i like to mess with has only a digital display but it still feels different to me idk
Nah I know exactly what you mean! Last year I did make a picture with my iPhone that ended up in my book and I clearly remember it also tho. So there may just be a bias towards getting the “shot” and remembering it well. Which tends to happen more frequently with a tool ( camera) that’s more consistent
I really appreciate your honest reviews. Especially when there are so many "everything is awesome" videos out there. I was thinking of switching back to Android because of other reasons than photography while at the same time hoping a new phone could be my EDC not just my emergency back up. Will honestly say that timing has always been an issue with my street photography. Probably why I tend more to abstract and architectural street photography - no people.
Glad to hear someone else has the small issue with timing. I honestly had high hopes because I loved the pro mode test. I think it just comes down to which mode you decide to use which isn’t something I’m used to as an iPhone user
I haven't start watching the video, but watching last copule of your videos (back to back), I was thinking to post comment and ask if you could use this for your Street Photos. :) Thank you.
I have been using smartphones for my street photography and videos for a long long time and I always enjoy seeing an experts take on this.
Glad I could deliver! Thanks for watching!
Finally a realistic photography review on thus phone's cameras
The pixel phones are rated amongst the best for photography, but I don’t see any videos in your channel?
Hrmm. I've seen Japanese photographers on Twitter use OPPO Find X7 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra for their street photography and Cafe photography. It's on a whole new level. I say Google is good for the casual point and shoot though which is what most people will do anyway. But these blokes from Japan aren't using Pixle phones lol.
@@sleepy1171 Exactly, I have also seen them and they are using the Xiaomi 14 ultra, Vivo X100 pro or Vivo X100 ultra, Oppo find x7 ultra.
Correct me if I'm wrong but you definitely can use the uw camera but only in 12mp mode in Expert Raw. As for the capturing the moment instantly, yeah Expert Raw isn't good for that but I believe pro mode is perfect for that, problem is you don't get the expert raw bonuses but thats true to "dslr" level raw files no? I do know the pro mode doesn't have that added sharpness of Expert Raw though.
yup only 12mp which sucks
That’s a valid point that I didn’t really think about. But also what’s the point in promoting something as the “best way” when it only works the best at a lower resolution. Also I think it’s more software based. I showed that screen recording where initially the image was correct but after processing changed. Not sure the cause I’m sure there’s an explanation if I did a deep dive
@RanftEvan I completely agree with you. I was only correcting expert raw doesnt support uw lens. Which technically isnt correct but its also correct 😂
@@RanftEvanbut the UW camera is only 12MP, so there is no way it could take a 50MP photo unless we are talking about some sort of super resolution/upscaling.
I almost always shoot on Pro mode. Sorry, but Apple Pro Raw and Expert Pro Raw are worthless. I cannot stand the processed look to smartphone photos. For quick snaps of family or events, the main cam jpeg is great.
Do you know any settings to make the photos as natural as possible, especially the red colors on Samsung photos are really bad, the tone is so much changed.
I have the ultra wide in my expert raw? You have to be in 12MP though
Also, there's a setting to take photo when you tap... I'm not sure why it's not the default, nor if it would solve your lag issue...
I can already open my eyes
s24 ultra camera update coming up in april. do another video after that update please.
This video sounds like it was made by an iPhone user lol
😅😅
Exactly. As soon as you see the apple watch, you know this video is going to bash samsung. Apple users always find stuff to complain about even if it is a 2 second fix.
Exactly 💯 bullshit apple fan 🤢
Facts lol
That's what is in my head
After some years away from Samsung for being annoyed with phone lagging, fingerprint scanner never working, camera with a very delayed shutter lag and aggressive processing over the image, I'm back with the S23+ and just because Samsung now allows you to completely switch off auto HDR and also force the camera switch regardless of the situation.
The phone is much faster, it lags much less than before and the cameras are very good but I still don't like the color rendition of my photos, since they always look off, with some magenta or green tint to them. Shutter lag is still a problem, especially if you move fast to a new scene and the phone still didn't have time to adjust the settings.
I was very annoyed with my previous iPhone 13pm because suddenly Apple entered this trend of changing completely the photo after being taken, and everytime I opened the photo after taking it, 1 second later the photo magically changed to a completely different thing than I planned!
Well, I guess you can't have it perfect.
last picture I'll rank -5.0 out of +5.0 ... expert raw is horrible I deleted that app and stuck with reg pro which I feel takes better pictures
Same, I don't know how they even get these photos of off that app 'cause they look horrible and over-sharpened. Don't get me started on the night photos,
this doesn^t capture 3x portrait with the 3x lens it used its primary lens
❤❤
At first I was like, oh, he rarely revisits so that must mean he loved it lol.
Use pro mode bro
Yeah, been using s24 ultra for a month now and not happy with camera, wanted to change to iPhone but the way the purchased limits exchange or returns
🤣🤣🤣
😊
🙏🙏
You should try OnePlus 12 after the latest update its great. 👍
Just gotta get my hands on one!
Expert Raw is not the best way to get great pics out of the 24 Ultra
I've been waiting for you
🙏🙏🙏
try the pixel 8 pro
The OPPO Find X7 / Xiaomi 14 Ultra have the new Sony Lytia 900 1" sensors. I think he should try that. But Google is okay too, but more for casual point and shoot.
Try to use pro mode, not raw expert, and then edit in photoshop
Samsung really needs an update that allows you to go back to the original photo. I've had too many pictures that I was happy with initially, only to watch them be destroyed a second later by the post processing. And there's nothing you can do about it. It's so disheartening. It makes you not want to take pictures just so you don't have to watch the senseless destruction of your photo's.
Or, hear me out, don't edit your photos?
@@willbuschmann No. The camera automatically edits (post processes) your photo a second or so after you take it. You see initially that you took a good photo, and then a second later the camera automatically destroys it with sometimes some really unnatural terrible post processing, and there's no way to get the original good one back. Samsung needs to fix that so if you don't like what it did you can return it to normal and post process it yourself if you choose to do so. In many cases the original looked fine.
@@escheidl 200-50 mp lerde olur bele bir problem.. 12 mp de o hallar yashanmir
@@escheidlWell I understand what you are saying this problem even in my Iphone 15 pro max I just realized that when I took some RAW pictures the real RAW I only see when I click edit photo but the original one isn’t the same it’s just weird I find that I must crop it or do whatever small edit after that save it to get the real RAW process image which is so stupid .
Shoot in pro mode. There is 0 processing in pro mode. Not expert pro raw
Horrible software for a good Camera. Doesn't ZOOM in and out at 100x in VIDEO MODE unless going to Camera mode and zooming at 100x and holding down the button. That is really stupid.
I have the 24ultra..wanted to use it for pics etc.. after having seen the horrible processing of samsung..I went and bought a Sony A7CII ..simply No comparison...the 33 mp will shame the 200 of the samsung..
So now I've money on the samsung I do like it as a phone ..but no way would it replace a real camera with its AI generated processing that is well sad really ...
Nobody buys a phone expecting it to replace a real camera, if you have the space in you backpack, bring the camera, if not, these kind of cellphones offer good enough results to keep memories of places that you don't hate
Consistency, Samsung does not have
I more like S23 Ultra from last year
The new S23 ultra has disappointed me alot
The reason why I liked the S23 ultra was because it had a ten times optical zoom, that way you can shoot things that your iPhone buddies can't
Now that they degraded the super tele lens from a 10x to a 5x you cant get those unique shots
And the expert raw is just a market gimmick, regular raw mode is FAR BETTER that that
I think they introduced the 5x tele lens because they wanted to compete against apple
But why replace the 10x with it? What about the 3x? I mean if your shooting on 3x digital the difference is barely noticeable when you compare ut with the 3x optical
But they have upgraded the tele to 50mp. You'll get the same 10x shot as the s23ultra
@anveshn8609 Marques and many other tech youtube has deeply tested both of them, and the 10x optical has more detail than the 5x optical
This is noticeable when you zoom in 100x
In the 10x lens the image quality is decent and sharp
However, In the 5x optical zoom the image looks mushy, soft, unsharp and ai
@idklol286 bro, I'm using my s24 ultra for a month now, and my friend has s23ultra. 5x shots on s24ultra were good compared to s23ultra, and the 10x shot on both devices looks the same
S24 ultra ❎ new s23 ultra ✅
@@CptThisGuy for me, s24 ultra is better than s23 ultra
The raw files coming out from S24 are... just SO bad. Especially ExpertRaw. They're NOT RAW, but processed crap. Returned the phone.
Well you lost me by saying the iPhone 15 pro beats the s24 ultra 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 laughable
I still prefer a real camera
Same!
I was looking to make an investment on a camera and unfortunately I fell for the s24 ultra promotional videos. Never in my life had I spent 1,500 on a phone that, to be honest, feels like a scam.
The picture quality is amazing if you know nothing about photography or if youre not looking to print but if youre looking to something remotely resembling fine art photography (and I mean remotely cause no smartphone can beat a real camera) then this is not it.
Don't be fooled by #samsung . $1,500 for whatsapp, a useless pencil and a mediocre camera are not worth it.
Samsung fanboy here!
I regret buying s24ultra lol idk why when i watch most of these review vid the samsung one is the worst broo😭😭😭
The Google 8 pro is better
If only this smartphone could reach a decent level of photography it would have been great.
I got some good stuff after using it for these 3 videos but I think I’ve had a better overall success rate with the iPhone!
@RanftEvan getting some good photos is always possible, with any camera if you know how to do it. The problem is that this phone has serious issues in low light and shadows with regards to the noise and in highlights. Recovering an image is hard, and you have to tune the setting for each situation... raw files are bad, very low information. I mean, I also took great photos with this guy, but I also lost many moments, as it happened to you and the walking subject on the sign.. Basically, it is very good for Instagram. That's it.
@@RanftEvanthats the problem with all samsung phones initially. Look at how s23U performed at start and now it is undoubtedly the best camera phone os 2023. The same will happen with s24u.
You don't have a good test 👎👎👎
Guys this video is totally biased
And the guy don't know that you can shoot UW in expert raw too
This is the dumbest thing I can expect😂
Take some knowledge about other rather than your iPhone😂
I have iPhone 14 Pro in few months I will get my S24 ultra 🎉
