The Ret 6% buff is compensation for losing some DPS talents in the Class tree for utility. Damage will be 2-3% lower with the possibility of a greater burst if we overcap on holy power to get two stacks of Blessing of dawn. Not saying it can't be a buff overall but damage according to sims will be lower.

Doom Winds does not auto-cast stormstrike on nearby targets, it does stormstrike (physical + nature) damage. Blizzard is bad for using the same terminology for multiple things (they did this with Stormbringer hero talent tree and Enhancement's proc that reset stormstrike's cooldown and renamed the latter to stormsurge now).

I don't think anyone of stature was saying it was gone. The thought process was that it might not be so dominant that the other two specs could become playable. The reason why it's so good in pro play//high mmr is that the games are typically longer and rot based dmg excels in dampening.
Solo shuffle is difficult as a healer. You’ll have to deal with MASSIVE DPS and because you’re a healer you won’t get much CR if any. (On my 1400 MW, 0 gain on a win and 15-20 a loss is most common for me).

So youre saying arcane mage needs *more* buffs to fix its fundamental issues 😎 bring it on. Perhamps make arcane surge do 35% more damage, auto proc touch of the magi, and increase spell damage by an additional 10%. 🪿🪿🪿
