Two weeks ago, I sat at a Honda dealership debating between 2017 Sport 6MT and 2018 Sport 1.5T 6MT. Price was 2K less for the 2017 so not much on monthly payments, maybe another $30 so the price wasn't relevant. I had them literally line them up like this in the video, I drove both, sat in both, stared, repeat...3x times. At the end, I couldn't go with the 1.5T turbo. It felt sluggish, interior looks terrible, even the RPM gauge is not real, it's a screen, that center piece has so much sun glare on it...The 2017 2.4NA engine is linear, elegant acceleration, interior is "raw", almost old school, no fancy gimmicks, a real driver's car. So...I now own one :) I get looks everywhere, people think it's a $40K car, not $22K.
Adrian Sanchez starting to feel the same way. More detailed videos are helping with that. I always thought the interior was great but the shape of the car is growing on me. Have to see it in person first though.

I do like the added technology but I think they took 2 steps backwards on the exterior (and even interior) design making their premium car look more like the cheaper civic.
I picked up one of the few 2017 Sports left a month ago. Even the dealer said lots of people like the look of the 2017 more. Plus here in Canada we get spoiled with Sport standard features (push button, sunroof, bigger audio system, touchscreen nav).

2017 looks better. Better design inside & out and better looking rims (in Sport/Touring trim), However, the 2018 has better tech & I love the fact that Honda threw in a lot of features for this new Accord even in the base LX model.
I have a 2016 Touring and I don’t mind the chrome at all. Wheels are much better looking then the 18/19 years. No comparison ppl rather have the power of a 3.5L V6 then a 4 cyl turbo 🙄 She’s very luxurious looking. At times reminds me of a Lexus, BMW or Mercedes. New Accord? Not so much ESPECIALLY the back! Looks like Honda’s design team got lazy in that dept. For me that was a deal breaker. 2016 Accord Touring 3.5L V6 w/25k miles for 23k out the door > 2019 Accord Touring 2.0 L Turbo 4 for 35k+ out the door. 🤔🤔 For me it was a no brainer.
I saw both of them yesterday and to my opinion the 17 looks way more better than the 18. You don’t have to design an ugly car to make it efficient.. perhaps when you compare the look with the new Camry the Camry looks way more better than the new Accord.
I work for Honda myself and I’m gonna say this straight up, that the 18/19 models are nowhere near better then what the 17 Sport had to bring to the table.
Thank you for this confirmation. I stuck with the 17 touring, 2018 and 19 are just not my liking. Question, why honda went and put back the automatic stick on the 2020 and not the electronic 18 - 19.
yadiel871 The Honda Accords in my opinion working there needs to go back to the original platform with a regular transmission, the CVT is just not cutting at all. Yes, the luxurious work of the Accord is very elegant but they ruined what the 2017 brought to the table. Even then they should’ve kept a regular transmission in the 2017 to perfect it, too much lag and interference with the CVT. Although the Accord will keep its platform for the next few years I hope the Civic does change since a refresh is due soon! 🙏🏽
I don’t know but here in Canada the 2017 accord sport have push button start, keyless entry, have the touchscreen, and the audio system of the touring Model, it also have the lane watch camera with the led turn signal mirrors, and I like more the design of the 2017 I think the 9 gen is the best accord sorry honda, it would be good if they put the 10 speed auto with the 2.4 🤷🏻♂️
Traded my 2014 sport sedan for the 2017 sport se before they were all gone after seeing the 2018's, guess I'll be waiting to see what the 11th gen is going to look like. I'm very disappointed in the 18...☹😕😞
I love the 2017 Accord sport it actually looks like a mid size sedan and not like the 2018 that looks more like a Civic hatchback and that touch screen on the 2018 looks awful and distracting. The only thing I like about the 2018 is the headlights, hands down 2017 model takes the prize for me!
I feel the interior is way better than the 2017 because of its features, the screen, and the nobs but still give me the 2017. I cant get over at how bad the rear looks on the 2018 and dont understand how you go from a 2017 rear looking amazing to an old ugly rear design.
The rear of the new Accord still hasn't grown on me. I don't like the shape of the taillights or the trunk lid. Camry really stole the show this year in my opinion and why would Honda still incorporate a CVT in their cars is beyond me.
They had a very beautiful car (2017) to reference off, but Honda decided to self destruct once again. I was looking forward for my girlfriend to purchase the 2018 accord, but obviously we changed our mind now.
I agree with you. Looks like an elongated civic. The front is very nice! But when I saw the rear, I had to do a double take to make sure I was looking at an accord and not civic lol the rims in my opinion don't look premium. Between this design or new Camry, I say Camry takes the overall design. (Idk about performance but just saying for design)
I prefer the 2018 interior but the 2017 exterior. I am going to wait until the midcycle refresh before getting rid of my 2015. I assume the refresh will be in 2021.
the previous version is by far more elegant and handsome over the new gen any day. How did the previous gen do in sales? I see them all over the roads and the NON Fastback version rocks. Honda should have not added the fastback. New version looks too much like mix of hyundai elantra, malibu, and 2017 Dodge Charger.
MetalsForBrunch Lol I actually seen one in black at night it’s really nice with bright led but it just doesn’t stand out in daylight at all. 17 is definitely better look wise
Leo Ramirez, the 2017 front grill is plain UGLY!!! Looks like a 5 year old kid grabbed a huge fucking ugly piece of chrome and stuck it in the middle of the grill......... ugh!!!!
@@robertjohnson4401 hmm I’m torn between buying 2016 Accord 2.4L NA vs 2017 Civic SE Turbo 1.5L. The prices are almost identical in my country due to fast depreciation of the Accord maybe because of new model came out already. My concern is the fuel economy. I heard the 1.5T civic averages 12km/l in city and Accord around 7km/l in city. Also the acceleration in the civic is better. 0-100kph in less than 7.8s while the accord is close to 10s. Another concern is that in my country the Accord is being seen as a passenger car while civic is a driver car. 😅 Btw both are still less than 40k miles. I will only keep it for 5 years with maximum of 10k miles per year.
@@fernandol4773 The 0-60 miles per hour on a 2016 Accord Sport with the 2.4L is 7.5 seconds. I get 40 miles per gallon gas mileage on the highway. Don't know what you mean by the the Civic is a driver car and the Accord is a passenger car. Yes the Accord is larger. The Accord Sport should outhandle the Civic with it's low profile tires and tuned suspension.
The bigger question of 2017 v 2018 is V6 v 1.5T? Also a 2.0T is coming, so V6 v 2.0T also! BTW, love my V6 power on the turnpike. It's very easy to get out of the traffic.
Got the 2017 Sport, love the car looks, room and all, just hate the CVT, you could get run over , the car has no real acceleration off the line, when it comes to get go off the line even my 1992 Mazda MX3 with a 1.6 can go faster, Honda as I see it has screw up with this CVT transmission not to mention, this nonsense of no more 6 cylinder power plants, given a choice I will buy the Toyota Camry XLE V6 300hp with a real transmission.

Got my 2017 red sport model 2 month ago with a smoking deal. And aftet i found out the new interest rates and price and specially the ugly fat looking side view of 2018 model, I am so glad that i bought 2017 model
You guys in the comments need to understand that this is first 10th generation accord being compared to the best redesigned 9th gen accord. If you don't get the point, try comparing the first 2013 9th gen accord to the 2017 or even the 2018 model. It's completely trash. Even with the 10th gen, will take another 3 years where they adjust and redesign the perfect 10th gen. Be smart, and wait for now if you really want a banging 10th gen.
Jamaican Me Crazy it wouldn’t look right on the 18... the only selling point for me would be the full led headlights and the push button start... would it kill them to include a standard sunroof after all this is the Sport so make it sporty... if I wanted a Civic I would’ve brought one shame on Honda
Time will tell. If sales on this new accord are bad, i am sure the engineers will have to redisign the car. I have accord sport 2015, love my car. Dont like the 2018, have always love accords, in fact my first car was a two door 1993 accord LX.
I own this exact 2017 and for all you guys doggin the 18 I can tell you I'd rather have the 2018. I didn't think I'd like it it...I love it. It's everything the 2017 should be but isn't. This is about more than bells and whistles, this is about a whole new level of car from top to bottom. I've had the 2015 sport to. They felt cheap, so does the 2017. This 2018 I'm telling you drives better, handles better, has much more room and is way more comfortable. When you look at all the upgrades it's as if someone took an accord and put in 10gs worth of upgrades. Turbo, better thicker seats, way more leg room, bigger trunk, better safety tech, better tech, better radio and speakers. I'm not a fan of the rear like most but it does go with the rest of the design of the car. I can confidently say the 2018 is miles ahead of the 2017.
The 2.0 2018 sport comes with alot more then the 1.5 2018 sport. It has a sun roof and if im not mistaken it also has smart entry as well as navi. Im sure theres more but the kicker is, the 2.0 sport is 5k more then the 1.5.
It’s nice to see they did away with the shiny reflective fake chrome pieces that were located around the shifter in the center council on the 16 model. It can really blind/distract you when the sun is shining.

It’s all about the future ya’ll. You guys want the 17, get the 17. I test drove the 18 Lx and it feels just as sporty as it comes in. I’m almost 27 so I don’t feel the need to be a adrenaline junky when I still have my 2010 FA5. Although it does sit and feels real low in the 18 Lx. It’s basic and it’s simple and mind you, I test drove a red one and I was breaking neckkkkkks all day son! Can’t wait to test drive the 1.5 Sports trim.

For me that was a deal breaker. 2016 Accord Touring 3.5L V6 w/25k miles for 23k out the door > 2019 Accord Touring 2.0 L Turbo 4 for 35k+ out the door. 🤔🤔 For me it was a no brainer.
i'm going to wait it out for the mid-cycle refresh, Refresh tends to look better then first gen, it's only 2.5yrs away it will go by fast too
Honda took a step down with the design !!
2017 is a way better looking cat !! Hands down
lol...no, no its not
18 is superior
dropthe_bass 21 the 2018 beats that 17 in every way take for test drive when your done you be handing over the 2017 key's.
I agree....it looks like a big hatchback to me. 2017 looks more sporty
I saw both of them yesterday and to my opinion the 17 looks way more better than the 18. You don’t have to design an ugly car to make it efficient.. perhaps when you compare the look with the new Camry the Camry looks way more better than the new Accord.
lol...no it doesn't, the camry is ugly...esp the interior. The dash is a disaster.
I work for Honda myself and I’m gonna say this straight up, that the 18/19 models are nowhere near better then what the 17 Sport had to bring to the table.
I feel like as far as driving experience goes the 18 is much better.
17 look more luxurious
@@adrandradez should i go with a 2017 accord or a 2018 2.0?
I love the 17 much more! Pro chrome. Like the 17 exhaust better.
Not a big turbo fan. I do like and enjoy your videos 😋
i like the 2018 accords structure of the car yet the 2017 is classier and more relaxed
I don’t know but here in Canada the 2017 accord sport have push button start, keyless entry, have the touchscreen, and the audio system of the touring Model, it also have the lane watch camera with the led turn signal mirrors, and I like more the design of the 2017 I think the 9 gen is the best accord sorry honda, it would be good if they put the 10 speed auto with the 2.4 🤷🏻♂️
Just bought a 2018 Accord Sport for my wife, We love it.
The good news for people that do not like the 18 is there is still a bunch of new 2017 Accords on the lots cheaper than the 2018.
Waiting for the 2.0T sport to finally decide from sport 1.5T , 2.0T and the EX 1.5T. Your videos are helping out a lot thank you brother
+Andrew Ferrer You’re welcome. I am also waiting for the 2 L turbo. Can’t wait.
Just purchased the 2017 Honda Accord Sport it is badass!!!
2017 sport for me. Exterior looks way more sporty/lux. Interior looks/feels more welcoming. As to the rectangular dashboard on the 18.
Looks like he was sinking with that high center concel!😂
the 2017 looks so much better to me. I like the new profile but not the front end or the rear
Still love my 17 sport L E.
By the way, the tail lights on the look like they are trying to resemble the Civic, the 2017 look more elegant like a Mercedes or a BMW.
I feel the interior is way better than the 2017 because of its features, the screen, and the nobs but still give me the 2017. I cant get over at how bad the rear looks on the 2018 and dont understand how you go from a 2017 rear looking amazing to an old ugly rear design.
DengBangs lol ur the only one who thinks that 2017 and below had the worst interiors and looks dated af to 2018
The rear of the new Accord still hasn't grown on me.
Why? The 2018 looks nice on the outside and waaaayyy nicer on the inside...esp the dash
Saw the 2018 recently, it’s far superior to the 17
I agree with you.
Everybody hating on the 2018 probably because they don’t have it, looks way better imo and if you have any taste in customization the 2018 ftw
🧢🧢🧢
the previous version is by far more elegant and handsome over the new gen any day. How did the previous gen do in sales? I see them all over the roads and the NON Fastback version rocks. Honda should have not added the fastback. New version looks too much like mix of hyundai elantra, malibu, and 2017 Dodge Charger.
2017 honda accord looks good in every angle. 2018 honda accord looks bad at every angle.. smh honda...
MetalsForBrunch Lol I actually seen one in black at night it’s really nice with bright led but it just doesn’t stand out in daylight at all. 17 is definitely better look wise
The 2018 fastback looks really great
Sorry 2018 smokes it in every way. Get in and drive one you will be bringing the 17 back and saying sign me up for beautiful 2018 😆
MetalsForBrunch looks like a fucking Camry on the back I will stay with my honda 2017
Leo Ramirez, the 2017 front grill is plain UGLY!!! Looks like a 5 year old kid grabbed a huge fucking ugly piece of chrome and stuck it in the middle of the grill......... ugh!!!!
I own a 2016 Accord. My next car will be a Camry. I don't want a turbo.
Why?
@@fernandol4773 The life expectancy of a turbo is about 100,000 miles. I typically keep my cars at least 200,000 miles.
Btw both are still less than 40k miles.
Omg what an ugly rear end on 2018.
What were u thinking when u design the rear honda???
Hire me i will make ur accord sexy at every angle
Got the 2017 Sport, love the car looks, room and all, just hate the CVT, you could get run over , the car has no real acceleration off the line, when it comes to get go off the line even my 1992 Mazda MX3 with a 1.6 can go faster, Honda as I see it has screw up with this CVT transmission not to mention, this nonsense of no more 6 cylinder power plants, given a choice I will buy the Toyota Camry XLE V6 300hp with a real transmission.
They had to steal the ugly buick design i guess.
I went to my closest Honda dealer and was about to trade in my 17' EX-L V6 but after really taking a closer look & test drive, I passed on it.
DANIEL ALEXANDER
My cowoker was about to get the 18 touring on black friday but he passed to. He didnt like it at all. He said is a let down from his 17 touring v6
Interior looks good on 18’ can’t stand the rear ugly as hell . Glad i got 17’SE . I don’t regret it
The trim and seats in the 2018 1.5t Sport are not Leather, they're Vinyl (leatherette). The shift knob and steering wheel are wrapped in leather (per sticker).
I have Honda accord 2017 I love it people hate the 18
16 accord..luv it too
2018 progress ? Without the pull up hand brake, In Michigan Winters I can not spin/slide the back end around when I park at work nor slide into my driveway coming home. Less Sport.
this man is in love with the chime lol...every video it gets him
I got both and I actually like the 17 body but the 18 is growing on me
You got both?
I'll take that 17 over 18 anyday
The 2017 is sexier
Thanks for the video Edward. I’m glad you did the comparison. Love the 2018!! 👍🏼🚗💨
I wanted to do this while i still had a 2017 in stock!
Your Honda Man very Smart. 👍🏼
I love the Audi A7 type look of the new Accord, loven my 18'
Great video for people looking at these models keep it going awesome!
Got my 2017 red sport model 2 month ago with a smoking deal.
And aftet i found out the new interest rates and price and specially the ugly fat looking side view of 2018 model,
I am so glad that i bought 2017 model
16 model..luv it!! Basuque pearl red
In my opinion all of the 9th gen accords look good and I actually like the 2014 better than the 2017 for the exterior looks
Who do I have to kill to get the 2017 19s on the 2018
Jamaican Me Crazy check out the other options for the 2018
Jamaican Me Crazy it wouldn’t look right on the 18... the only selling point for me would be the full led headlights and the push button start... would it kill them to include a standard sunroof after all this is the Sport so make it sporty... if I wanted a Civic I would’ve brought one shame on Honda
Just bought a sport 6 days ago and totally loved it.
A 2017 Honda account sport/touring owner, I guess.
Grim Reaper me too!!! Love it!!!!
I like some chrome, but I dont think sport model should have chrome.
Only improvement in the new sport model is the interior but the exterior looks way better on the 2017 sport
The 2018 looks wack inside n out
Time will tell.
🧢🧢🧢
The 2.0 2018 sport comes with alot more then the 1.5 2018 sport. It has a sun roof and if im not mistaken it also has smart entry as well as navi. Im sure theres more but the kicker is, the 2.0 sport is 5k more then the 1.5.
It’s nice to see they did away with the shiny reflective fake chrome pieces that were located around the shifter in the center council on the 16 model. It can really blind/distract you when the sun is shining.
Just pick up a v6 accord sedan 2017 ... Got a great deal ...
Good job on the comparison Honda Man!
I saw this review coming lol.I remember ya 2013 vs 2012 Accord review. Your 2016 vs 2015 Accord review & I commented on ya video of your review of the 2018 Accord asking for this comparison one & a few hours later, here it is lol
+Baasil F. There’s a lot of people deciding between both models right now! Thanks for following along!
The 2017 looks like a BMW. lol
It sounds like everyone is in love with the 2017 Honda Accord, but people think that the 2018 Accord is a worse car. I think both have their pros and cons.
2017 better! The 2018/19/20 1.5 turbos mix oil and gas and the engines won’t last as long as the 2.4 L in the 2027 9th Gen.
2.4 L engine is a tank, the 1.5 L turbo not so much!
Do you honestly expect a salesman from honda to say he likes the 2017 better? So in 2019 he'll like that one better to.....haha.
9 gen forever the best accord plus you can get coupe 6 speed with 290 hp
2016/2017 coupe and 4doorc way better hands down
10 gen best looking inside and out of all time
The 1.5 is slow as balls just test drove one. I will say it looks good in person. Hoping the 2.0 is better
YTDC exposed
The 2018 accord 2.0l is faster than last years v6. But I'll will take a 17 v6 touring
I have heard dozens of reviews and nobody has said that, so that tells me you are full of it.
The 2018 rims look better in person. More sleek
2017 looks better
The 2018 Accord Sport is the best looking Accord ever made. Can't wait to get mine.
If by 2018 you mean the 2017, you would be correct.
2017
Good lucking accord.2017👍👍😀
2017 all day
The only reason never buy a accord was that large chrome in the front I'm glad now they replaced to black on sport trim :) definitely my next car.
