I feel you. I'm about to turn 44 and the 90s were some of the best years of my life. I'm constantly nostalgic for that decade. Life got so tough after that. Memories keep me going ♥
This song captures perfectly the feeling of nostalgia for me, that ache in your heart for a place that no longer exist. For me, 1982 Delta Colorado, Friday night, off work from Terrell's Restaurant, cruising Main Street, house parties later, I was 19, young and free and i didn't even know it. Memories lost and forgotten like tears in the rain.
Look up the meaning of the Portuguese word "Saudade". There is no English translation of saudade, very roughly, a deep, aching longing or yearning for someone or something in the past that you hope returns but in the very back of your mind you know it's unlikely or impossible.
Chris that was beautiful just reading your comment took me back, and while listening to this omg just wake me up when i'm done replaying this 10 times lol♡♡♡♡. Can we all get together and go back there😢😭
The day my mother passed away, I heard this song for the first time. She struggled for so long. But I know that, even though she moved on, this song was the epitome of how she felt about staying with me as long as she could. This song is as beautiful as she was.
Buffy, being 16 in the 90s....the dreams I had. I never appreciated those years, but something has to be said for the tears and the tiredness of life all before it really began. Now I am older, with teenagers of my own. I wish more than anything that they savor every second...being an adult can be so unkind...so harsh. This song is a painful reminder of youth.
Oh my gosh is it ever a painful reminder of youth 😩 how good we had it being a teen in the 90’s and didn’t even realize it and thought we were going to be young forever 😩
I'm a Stones fan, but every once in a while, a cover (like Joe Cocker's version of "A Little Help From My Friends") is just absolutely transcendent - the Sundays nailed this.
agreed 💯, Brian. it's extremely rare when someone can hold a candle to The Stones, but this version does. i grew up with 70's and 80's music, and personally speaking, i didn't care for the majority of 90's music too much, but this is gorgeous and ethereal. really captivating...
You nailed it. Exactly. Imagine thinking that you could take a Beatles or Rolling Stones classic and actually make it better. Joe C. and Harriett both said, "Hold my beer".
Harriet Wheeler's voice sounds angelic to me. I've never heard any voice that affects me like hers does. I'm so thankful for discovering The Sundays. Now my daughters love them. Makes my heart swell with love...😊
The 90’s was just simply amazing! I was in my 20’s and experienced the rollercoaster of music, love, heartache, dance, freedom, travel and exquisite joy! The BEST decade to be alive! Such beautiful music with the flood gates of memories!! This song is magical!
This is such a beautiful version of the song. Harriet’s voice is heavenly. Wish the Sundays were still active, I’d love to hear this live. I still play this on repeat.

Beautiful song !! She has such a beautiful voice !! This song is everything! heard this for the first time in movie fear with mark whalberg & Reese Witherspoon I love that movie !
This song reminds me of a girl I dated at the turn of the century. She was the only girl I ever loved more than myself. She brought me to the happiest I've ever been. She cheated on me and dumped me. I wish I didn't think of her when this song plays but I can't help it. It's bittersweet nostalgia. I'll never have anything like it again. Sometimes I just have to listen to this. It brings back all the trips we took together. Spending time with a girl I wanted to spend the rest of my life loving. She didn't see it that way. I wish I could take back the gifts I gave her. I miss her so much. That part of me doesn't exist anymore. It's not fair girls tear us apart like that. I thank the universe for this song. It means the world to me.
I used to sit out in my car and get so emo over this. That voice and those strings are hypnotic. I actually love the original now because of this, which I was never into before. Had a massive crush on Harriet.
I Love you so much Maghan. With all my heart and soul. Just as before, now, forever and always you will always hold the keys to my heart. Whether you value or cherish it, it’s always been yours. ❤️

It should be a felony how underrated her singing is....Haunting and beautiful. I really do miss the 90s music.
Every time I hear this song, my heart breaks further. I know it's because the memory is fading.
That's the truth. With each passing year, it fades a bit more. Both from our memories and from where we were as human beings towards one another.
@@WarmothGuitaristStill wanna slam my hand in a door. Fading, my ass.
One of the most beautiful songs of all times. The movie Fear taught me who the The Sundays were. I love her voices.
I grew up with song by the original artist, rolling stones..Then I heard this version,so much better then the original....Her voice is like heaven..
if I had a voice like that I'd never have retired from singing ;-) but at least we have her recordings!
Her voice is magical. Like a stream flowing gently down a mountain side
Ethereal. Leaves me breathless. Every time.
I forgot about this song and it unlocked memories and feelings. As well as a strong sense of the 90s and how badly I miss it.
Netflix show “Friends from College” brought me here...So beautiful! Verdict is out on the show but no matter what, it left me the gift of this sultry touching song! 💕
Her amazing voice made this song even more beautiful.
Buffy and Angel: True Love lasts forever
Heard this on a Netflix show and I had to find out what it was. Beautiful. It hits me right in the soul.
Was it a show called psych
Beautiful song !! She has such a beautiful voice !! This song is everything! heard this for the first time in movie fear with mark whalberg & Reese Witherspoon I love that movie !
Mark should’ve got an award for portraying a very sick psycho yet sexy too
This song reminds me of a girl I dated at the turn of the century.
This version just touches my heart,It's about what you feel when you listen to the song not about the
technique
I FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS SONG WHEN I FIRST SAW FEAR. I FINALLY FOUND OUT WHO DID THE COVER AND I LOVE IT!!!
Her voice is so pure.
So deeply moving still after all these years...💚
