I believe the 93 suns was among the best teams to never won a championship, Sir Charles deserved a ring but unfortunately he still ringless to this day but he had a great nba career as a player. Top 10 power forward in nba history.
Nobody brings up the Suns loss Ceballos before the finals and Barkley hurting his elbow in game 2 of the finals which made him about 75% for the rest of the finals and STILL was a Paxson miss 3 from forcing a game 7 in their building. But with MJ none of the context matters like it does with LeBron I guess. Ceballos was the difference maker. Losing him along with Charles injury changed history imo.
Exactly 💯 I always say that Ceballos was an extra 17 points a game that would have made a difference. Because Dumas played well but he wasn't as skilled as Ceballos.
"Context" includes The Parts where both MJ and Pip have entered into The 1992 - 1993 NBA season exhausted, even from both playing in The Summer Olympics and winning gold therein in 1992; MJ suffering a serious wrist injury within The 1992 - 1993 NBA season; The Bulls overall becoming exhausted in The Bulls' 3-Peat run; etc., even while The Bulls ultimately 3-peating; etc. Now go call The Wambulance.
Cry me a river. Even with MJ averaging 41 PPG, the Suns and Bulls scored the same amount of total points. The Suns were a deeper team than the Bulls even without Ceballos. No excuses.
@@wnnfrhrw4452 Chuck played in the Olympics in 92 as well. But to even more fair the Bulls had been playing into June from 1990 on to this series. But oh well, the Bulls won and as a Bulls fan I couldn't have been more thrilled than seeing this 3 peat
Nice point. It is a mystery why Ceballos was like "a hot potato" during his NBA career. I mean, he is often traded despite a proven scorer. Guess he does score but liable in defense. Anyhow, thanks for reminding he was part of 1992-93 Suns but injured. His scoring prowess would be valuable "what if" in the Finals.
Suns went a very impressive 3-1 at Chicago Stadium in 92-93, unfortunately it didn't matter since the Bulls one upped them going a perfect 4-0 at the Suns new home America West Arena.
Very defensively lousy Suns team. Were very fortunate to even get out the 1st round that year and almost got swept by a the 8th seeded Lakers. In game 7 at home one of the most dubious game 7s in playoff history where they shot a staggering 64 FTs via the refs in a game that didn't even go to overtime.
Fun fact: This was on the same night of the Shaq/Alvin Robertson fight, which is referenced at the end. (For more fun, Ernie was in the studio that night showing that particular highlight.)
Including NBA Finals, the road team in Phoenix/Chicago games that 1993 season went 7-1 (The 1 home win: MJ went off for 55 and even that wasn’t decided until the final seconds)
Phoenix was a John Paxon last second 3 pointer away from taking prime MJ's Bulls to a 7th and deciding game on there home court, in the finals that year. That blew the 1st 2 games at home, most likely because the finals stage was a little too big for everyone on Phoenix except Barkley and Danny Ainge. But once they settled into the finals atmosphere, from games 3-6, they were right there with the Bulls as an overall team. I wonder how much not having Ced Caballos hurt them in that finals.
Prime example of Jordan trying to do too much in this game had alot swings turnover s. Just like in Game 5 in 93 alot swing turnovers. Great game. Overall game. Ceballos was making array ot shots. KJ 21Pts 16Asts🔎
Similar to game 5 and this game when Phx came out strong and majority of team came out flat so yes Mike had to take things into his hands or else they would’ve been blown out.
@@michaelallen8112 stop it, that run wasn’t much of a run because Mike tied it at 100, the game had been hovering around 8-10pts majority of the game and was down to 5 win the forth started and Jordan was on the court when the 3rd ended. 16:03 Bryan Russell moment. LOL Russell should've watched this game before Game 6. In 26:56 Barkley is basically talking about Lebron James when he says everybody can't do it - that guy that can't make plays in crunch time.
On top of thay Barkley getting seriously injured in game 2. He was never the same after dropping 42 and 15 if I'm not mistaken. That along with Caballos 100% changed that series. Remember if Pax doesn't hit that 3 it's a game 7 in Phoenix.

Oh f...k, this is bsketball plaing. Someone show me how to play like this in the NBA now, not to mention such commitment. Real basketball players. Now we have ccreens on the perimeter and lopsided 3-pointers, no inside-outside play, no position play, no whole team play. Bland times, bland basketball.
Sad thing is that everyone thought it was going to be the Knicks vs Suns, but Doug Collins called it on as his quote on Sports Illustratted (I think it was that magazine) was that it was going to be Chicago not NY in the Finals. Honestly it should have been Rockets vs Bulls, but Jordan begged Thorn in a post game TV Interview to not let the Rockets in the Finals.

Welp, the Rockets should’ve won that second to last game of the season vs a bad Mavericks team and they would’ve had HC advantage over the Sonics.
