I definitely want to see the Bison to stay Bison. We don't want to out breed Bison 😫. I'm glad that you and Dusty are preserving the Bison. Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe. May God continue to bless you and your family. Ps. Love the music.
I've been looking into these bison vids on youtube. Never expected a bison farm so close to me. And only five miles from where my daughter lives. I drove by the ranch and got to see a small herd grazing and just doing what bison do. They are so cool. I'm gonna visit that farm after I hear back from the owner. They raise many types of animals.
Yes when I first got into Buffalo I thought the same thing. There really are bison farms everywhere but they’re just not very well known. Hopefully we can change that!
@@BrokenArrowBison I understand that Ted Turner owns the largest private herds in N. America (Pure Yellowstone Bison)and when he dies, he wants the land and animala to be preserved. He wants it to remain undeveloped- or rather no more development so it remains as natural as possible. hange
I was just wondering if the white bison get as large as the pure bred bison do. I know from watching the Cross Timbers videos that they get very large.
That would be considered a Beefalo?? White moose and deer are awesome. Then you get the Pie Bald they are very cool. Stay safe & take care of you all. Thanks for sharing eh :))
No. There is a whole association for beefalo. I believe they have to be over 33% cattle to be considered but I’m not for sure. These white Buffalo only have about 1/32 cattle gene. True white Buffalo are either pie bald like you say or albino. Your welcome!
I know the Native Americans consider a White Buffalo to be sacred and an indication of good fortune to come. They hold a big celebration whenever one is born. Let's not devalue them through cross breeding. It's not the same thing.
I really am interested in a white Bison .Mostly I had the idea that white animals had pink eyes (albino) maybe not healthy and a shorter life. Charley cattle were raised for beef. Not sure of spelling..A farmer we new went from dairy farmer to raising beef cattle. We did have a beautiful albino deer roaming are farm for a few years.
Not all are are cross bread. Some are naturally white which are very very rare and others are albino. Just these ones were crossed with cattle. Thanks for watching in joining us!
No not all the bison or cross breeds. There are white buffalo that are albinos and there are white buffalo that just have a genetic mutation. The white buffalo are extremely rare and the albino are rare also.
Thank you for educating us on white Buffalo. I knew they were sacred to Native Americans but did not know that some of them were a result of cross breeding. Glad the Bison Association is trying to keep Bison bloodline from cross breeding. 🥰 🦬
Cool... I just bought one from them... that's how I recognized it... PS... I like what you're doing with your bison... and if I ever get started, I'll go with the electric fencing that you're using... 👍
Those poor beasts at auction.... They don't understand what's going on. Very stressful. And everyone knows a stressed animal is a dangerous animal. I don't have a solution, but I do see the problem.
Buy them and give them a good home that will keep their bison blood pure... and not crossbreed with cattle... voila... They face more stress on the wild when wolf packs come catch up to them...
Not all white buffalo are breed. Some are naturally occurring but I believe the statistics are one in 10 million! A true white buffalo will never be at auction.
This is what I learned from Native American elders about why the White Buffalo is Sacred. I am not an expert but I believe the story to be true. Many many years ago before the white man came, one day two young men saw a white light approaching across the plains . As it drew near they saw a very beautiful woman all dressed in white, she seemed to float, her feet barely above the grass. One of the men had inappropiate ideas about her, she motioned him to come close to her and suddenly he was consumed and disappeared in smoke as his intent was evil. She asked the other man to take her to his people. She brought the peace pipe to the people and taught them how to pray to the Great Spirit with the pipe aka Cannupa. She taught them to walk in truth. and with honor.in life. A promise made on the pipe must always be honored. She taught many things and when she walked away, she became a black buffalo then a brown buffalo then a tan buffalo and finally a white buffalo calf. She had prophesied that at the end of days, the white buffalo would return. It would be a sign that the world would be remade and healed and the earth would be restored They watched her until the white calf disappeared in the distance. She is called Pte San Win..white buffalo woman. About the year 2000 I began to hear that white buffalo calves were being born, and were being carefully protected from harm. I am so glad to learn that no white one will ever be sold at auction. They are sacred to the Sacred Mystery.🙏🙏🙏🙏🦬🦬🦬🦬
Last year they ran between $1,500-$2,000 for a bull calf. This year manly in part to COVID bull calf’s are running $700-$900. You can expect $100-$200 less for heifer calf’s. Thanks for watching!
@@believeinyourself7511 I'm really surprised heifers cost less being the have the babies, which in turn can be sold. But perhaps the male are the ones they take for food production?
Yeah there are a lot of intricacies that go into pricing. The males are typically used for meat and that is why they sell for more. Higher weight has something to do with it.

Yes keeping them pure is very important! Thank you so much!
I didn't know about white Bison until now. I do agree the bloodline should remain pure.
There are some white buffalo out there but they are extremely rare!
Great facts about the white Bison. The more I listen the more I love bison.

Yeah his story behind the animals is very intriguing. I think he started out with only a few thousand.
Thank you for showing and explain the white animals.
We has a white born in WI a few years back. Not only was she cute she was adorable.
Wow! Do you still have her??
I was just wondering if the white bison get as large as the pure bred bison do. I know from watching the Cross Timbers videos that they get very large.
Please no bison cow crosses. We need to preserve the true bison
My thoughts exactly!
when I was a kid in the late 1960s our nieghbour would cross breed buffalo with hereford called beefalo
Yeah those are crazy animals! Thanks for watching!
Thank You! I never heard of a white bison!! 😊

Absolutely agree.
Interviews are new for me!
Coming. Thanks for watching!
I can't watch the auctions, knowing the panic the bison are in being alone in front of a crowd of noisy people.

Is there any recording of albino bison? I mean, with no mix with cows
We had one born at the royal gorge bridge. He was no a cross.
That is very cool! They are very rare!
Hope this was your first, I started from last one and watched down to this one
Not the first but close. Thanks for watching!
Very interesting i was aware of the white Bison they are very spiritual for some people but i never knew they were cross bred.

1 out of every 10 thousand bison can be white. Although it's really rare . The Native American consider them to be sacred.......
You’re right!
enjoyed the video
Thank you for watching!
Nice looking bull at 5.45. BTW, glad you shaved the beard off, just sayin'.
😁👍🏻
Are all white Bison cross breeds? Are there or have there been Albino Bison that were pure? Paul St Louis

Yes it is! 😎

You are right. Bison live 20-30 years on ranches and around 15 in the wild.
These are hybrids!
There are a few beef/buffalo cross in here, yes. Not all though.
Stop scaring the Bison, your just mean old men 😡😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬
If that is true then why did the Indians speak of the visions or the year of the white Buffalo?
