I remember watching the documentary on this case; while they‘re trying their best to hide it there was a lot of disfunction in the family, I get narcissist vibes from the mother ‚these are MY children‘, also the son growing up without father figures, very very bad; and the rage he talks about, and the desire to hurt his mother, not very typical of psychopaths, who typically kill out of curiosity, momentary pleasure, shockingly shallow reasons,
also usually you usually have a history of torting animals for example from a very young age you don‘t just suddenly become a psych at age 13,
the whole thing is horrible and I‘m in no way exusing what he did, but I find that painting a distorted picture or making misleading statements about the whole thing isn‘t going to get us anywhere

Since everyone is playing armchair psychologist, I'll chime in. I don't think the mom is a narc, but the grandma FOR SURE is. Almost to the same violent and sadistic level as Paris. The mom may have some narc traits, but isn't one. I think this kid was neglected emotionally on an extreme level. It mentioned he lived with his grandma half the time, and I'm not sure the mom ever learned how to emotionally be there for her son. If his IQ level is extremely high, he will notice these shortcomings in his family very early on and grow resentful. There are too many other layers as well. It's heartbreaking.

Very interesting interview. I find it odd the 2 experts reviewing the footage, persist in commenting they have seen no sign of reaction or emotion. There are plenty of such moments, yes they are fleeting, but there are reactions to almost every question that challenges Paris to confront criticism, or alluding to it being critcism. In terms of behaviour, perhaps these days, it does appear "strange" to observe someone actually LISTENING, then THINKING, BEFORE replying, and reply intelligently, when so few people do that anymore. Kudos to Piers and whoever wrote the questions, likewise Paris for facing them. It's not for me to judge Paris, I don't comprehend what he did, nor excuse it, but if we remember he too was but a child, he wasn't exposed to abuse, how did it come to this. What a loss to all concerned. Big hug for Charity.

For the information I've got till now, here are some points I summed up:
    1. In some source it is said Ella is his half-sister. Where were his biological father and stepfather then, and what roles did they play in his early years of age ? If they had any influences on him ? Seems like in this case there are just the mother, brother and sister...
    2. If he did "love" his sister, as he said in this episode, he didn't mention any detail about how Ella reacted back then, like if she screamed, or she struggled etc. in his memory. No mercy.
    3. If you would pay more attention to his face expressions while he was saying "I loved her", his eyebrows raised, and again, two times. I guess it is a sign of being frivolous, thus, lying. And within this part about his emotions to Ella, his eyes looked more to the right side, usually it is a sign of making up stories, faking and lying.
    4. A son, in most cases, is the pride of a mother. And if a mother says that her son is a psychopath, I would give credit to.

He purposely stabbed her methodically while he carried out the other half of his assault that was most likely a motivating factor in all this. He may be a genius but he wasn’t just trying to hurt his mom he was going thru puberty as a vengeful self centered psychopath and this is most likely his only act of that form before and after. Bro, I would behave towards him just as she is. There could or would be no showing him how broken I really was. Never showing him more than a mere fraction of just how shattered i was. But showing him he didn't succeed (even though he did) would only be part one of the thwarting him. Part two would be reiterating all this time to him that not only was I not broken like he planned from the unimaginable grief, but that I even still loved him, wanted contact with him, and advocated for him. Wouldn't that be even more deflating for him, more a kick in the ass, as a sign he didn't succeed in using his sister to hurt me. I would never give him the use of my baby girl's life that way. I would owe it to Ella for her not to have been the pawn he wanted to her to be. I could live on the revenge and avenging of her alone to keep me alive if I had to, all to keep on reminding him he utterly failed. To torture him with it like he tortured her. And if he came at me when he got out, well, I'd be the one now who has had a LOT of time to plan too. In any environment I frequented, I'd have every scenario scoped and planned for, my self-defense weapons all hidden, everywhere I usually went, just in case. I would read every book about these subjects known to man. I would consult every expert I could who would write me back. And I would like my chances. If I was the last person standing in our altercation if/when he came at me or mine again, well, play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Now I'm prepared, asshole, what'd you expect. I would say to him as he was bleeding, after his attempt, while we waited for the emergency services I'd called to stitch him up and save his life, "this is for Ella. You may have everyone fooled about how you just had immature psychological tools to express your rage, blah blah. No. You loved it, because you fucking raped her. You came in your own four year old sister, and I state it that vilely because you are so very vile for it. And I know you know it because you tried to erase that particular piece of evidence with extra stabbing in her private parts you defiled. I also call bullshit on you feeling any affection for your sister in another way too - if it was really all about punishing me and not just the partly it was, you'd have killed her quick and not the slow stabbing you described. Now, they're gonna stitch you up. We can keep doing this dance if you want. I skipped tenth grade, got incredible grades, too, all of it. I'm just as smart as you. So I, my dear, will always like my chances." And then the most damning thing for him to hear, "I love you."

Paris Lee wasn’t born a killer; he was created by his violent and abusive mother. Mothers who batter their children during the formative years cause severe trauma and Complex-PTSD.
Psychopathy and NPD are positive adaptations that children develop to protect themselves from their violent parents and caregivers. ACEs (adverse childhood experiences) and genetics play a role in Cluster B personality development.
Charity Lee is 100% responsible for her daughter’s death and her son’s psychopathy. She is not the victim. Her children are the true victims in the tragic story.

Wrong, you're talking about sociopathy which is created from childhood trauma. Psychopathy is caused by a defect in the brain, which causes them to never develop empathy. And yes, the mother is also at fault for several reasons, but both these things can be true at the same time.

What he did as a kid to his littler sister was absolutely horrific, but, he was a kid himself. I don't like seeing all this set-up about what a psychopath he is so that everyone already is biased. I don't think the psychologist assessments on Paris are correct. Some people don't cry on demand in front of others. The therapist should know that when kids grow up, their memories of their childhood are practically gone because the adult brains takes over. Anyone with kids knows this. And any adult who looks back at their own childhood has limited clarity of it. It's seems to me Paris has remorse, self-loathing, and possibly cries privately, look at the dark circles under his eyes. His whole being is sad and melancholic. He's being scrutinized through a magnifying glass and what if everyone is wrong? I think kids who commit horrific crimes should be given some consideration for a second chance. Comparing him to Bundy is pretty cruel because Bundy wasn't a child when he raped and killed woman. Paris was only 13 and had a child's mind not fully grasping the adult world. I questions the prejudice coming from all the adults. And playing the spooking music as he speaks is pretty contrived. Also, hearing the psychologist make assessments on why he's not breaking down and crying while speaking to Piers, when he's given an honest and reasonable reason to me shows her complete lack of professional ability, smiling while diagnosing the situation. It's a difficult situation, but the interview is wrong the way it's been formatted.
