I don't think it does, you have to look at it from their perspective, after you commit an action like murder, you can't just obsess over it for the rest of your life, that isn't exactly a good strategy, of course you will process it and being in prison will be a constant reminder, but you need to move on, and this is what any decent psychologist will recommend them
the problem with cases like this and people like this is the sensationalism surrounding it, oh Paris is some "high level psychopath" completely meaningless term by the way, they don't use those terms anymore, and we can get into the flaws of the antisocial personality disorder or the DSM entirely

@@2KMMC2 no I actually meant exactly what I wrote. He leaves his answers either open ended or in the form of a different question to deflect away from what they’re asking. It’s very common in narcissists and sociopathy. They add words that could’ve turned into an answer but then twist it to turn it back into the person asking the question. It’s leaves the questioner feeling they got an answer and it also makes them move to a different question because they have to think of an answer to the socio/narcs without even realizing it. The questioner without even realizing it ends up asking the question the socio/narc wanted to answer all along because that answer was preplanned and is a good answer that works to their advantage. You’ll realize when the socio/narc finally gets to the question they’ve wanted the whole time. Their body language becomes more arrogant, loose and there is usually a slight upturn of the side of the lips as if they are holding back a smirk. They also answer that question very fluidly with no interrupter words like “well” or “so what you’re asking is…”. They don’t even have to take the time to put the perfect answer together because it’s all part of a memorized script they have in their heads. Go watch again. Tell me what you think.

I can understand he said that sentence. I am a Mum of two and I can't even think about such a tragedy. But I know that it is always hard for a child to be thrown off the throne by the arrival of a sibling and all parents should be absolutely aware of it. I left the younger one every day 1 hour longer in the Kindergarten to have mother/daughter time with the older one. I went on a one-week holiday with the first-born to spend quality time alone with her.
But I don't understand the verdicts in the US. So easily criminals are called monsters. He was a CHILD. He was somehow lost. In my country he would get special treatment to enable him a second chance in life. He was at the verge of a child to a teenager. He should be somewhere else. Specialists should take care of him not prison guards. In my country , we don't see prison as a punishment forever. Who by the way found out that he is a psychopath? Maybe it's convenient to label him like this in order to keep him in prison for the rest of his life.

All those are signs of psychopathy. It wasn't just something that happened. He planned it, tricked the babysitter to leave and did that to his sister. He didn't call police after but chitchat with a friend over the phone like nothing happened. Then called police when he knew she was dead and pretended to do CPR. Why children and teenagers can have easy access to weapons? As long as politicians don't change the laws on weapon, nothing will change. And if this boy here is a psychopath , how comes the mother didn't notice earlier. Impossible not to notice it?maybe he was neglected. She is also responsible for his actions. Instead of keeping children and juveniles locked up, they should get professional help and education. Although punishments are harsh in the U S. , it doesn't deterr people from breaking the law.

These are the ones the mom filmed. I'm sure there were plenty not filmed. They were there. And he told her he had been fooling them all along. He faked his emotions. You asked about increasing crimes? I know there has always been crimes but I know it's easier for them to get caught due to DNA and other technology. Experts constantly dismiss the actual truths that killers admit because they don't want to acknowledge the humanity in them, or the capacity for savagery in any of us. He didn't say he was soothed by the horror, he said he was soothed knowing there were other people who had been in dark mental places and could articulate what he could not. He said it was like connecting with them.
As someone who has only experienced not caused prison worthy trauma, I can't suspend my disbelief in the banality of most tv or movie plotlines either. But, when I do find a character riddled with real human complexity, it is like gasping fresh oxygen after only surviving off recycled airplane cabin ventilation. I would be more curious to know what kind of horror he enjoys, the topic needed more detail to diagnose. I for one can't read books about child abuse or movies with jumpscares, so anything dark but not retraumatizing.

I can tell bc at one point I lost it all and didn't want to eat much and started reading Yahoo news of police stories. And I'm not a Psycopath at all. It’s not a pentagram it’s a Norse Cross , it’s origin isn’t evil or dark .. like the symbol for The Natzi Regime wasn’t - But it was adopted by them and that symbol is associated with evil today .. Alister Crowley used it - Paris is intelligent enough to have read about this - I guarantee he wore that hoping to be asked what it meant .. Also the ONLY jewelry in most maximum security prisons inmates are allowed to wear is a plain wedding band & a religious necklace .. As you can imagine the most common ones are Jewish Stars & Crosses - I can only imagine Paris had to put in paperwork and declaration of his beliefs to be allowed to wear it - Prison officials may not be as familiar with that as the others & would most likely reject his request initially .. I’m sure this was entertainment for him - he can assert himself intellectually certainly more than other inmates.. He is not physically dangerous than 99 percent but is smarter than 99% of the inmates .. All of his words and actions are self serving and intentional

So why bring up his peers when this was about his mother.. I think he killed because he wanted to create chaos, hurt the people around him. Seeing the childhood tapes, it seemed like it was on his mind given how he joked about it and sort of had the subject in mind. He had a fixation and a compulsion to kill his sister, but had to make up this story about hating his mom to rationalize the murder for people around him, cause he dont want to be known as the senseless killer who has an OCD to kill. He seems to me to have a deep hatred and rightly so, as he was kept as an “animal” for a long time and for other reasons as well. I believe he would kill again, but in a very methodical way. If I were in his situation, I would obviously want to get out of prison. It's a strange circumstance.

@@eathansx what's it like having that high? Mines not as high but it's above average. But that's a good point cause I do see sometimes it being focused on alot with serial killers as if it's an actual factor which isn't a fair thing. Almost like people get scared of high IQ's

Kid knows exactly what was going thru his head from well before the murder. He running the guise of this poor me revenge on my mother when in reality he admitted to how perverted the entire crime was for him. He ain’t running that script cause it looks terrible and he wants to seem reformed as possible.

It’s always odd to me in these interviews how they don’t broach the subject that he s-a his sister at the time of the incident. Perhaps he refused to interview unless they excluded that fact. I very much hope that he never gets released.

I'm a psychiatric nurse and foster carer, I see and hear some terrible things involving children and adults, I have worked with psychopaths, and this man will kill his mother, I really believe this.

…and my question would be, why are all of us watching real life horror? Is it soothing to us? Why do we personally seek out the criminal mind? Does it make us feel better about ourselves or our situations? 🤔

Wouldn't be a psychopath since he exhibited emotions in the 911 call. That's a sociopath who's had a failed maternal bond with his mother.

I don't think he's a psychopath, he made a mistake that was the result of a momentary feeling, and experts exaggerate the fact that it adds dark characteristics to him
