Driving Laurel Canyon in Hollywood Hills.
======================
Laurel Canyon is a mountainous neighborhood in the Hollywood Hills region of the Santa Monica Mountains, within the Hollywood Hills West district of Los Angeles, California. The main thoroughfare of Laurel Canyon Boulevard connects the neighborhood with the more urbanized parts of Los Angeles to the north and south, between Ventura Boulevard and Hollywood Boulevard.
Laurel Canyon became a nexus of counterculture activity and attitudes in the mid-late 1960s and early 1970s, becoming famous as home to many of L.A.'s rock musicians, such as Cass Elliot of the Mamas & the Papas; Joni Mitchell; Frank Zappa; Jim Morrison of The Doors; Carole King; The Byrds; Gram Parsons; Buffalo Springfield; Canned Heat; John Mayall; members of the band The Eagles; the band Love; Neil Young; Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys as well as James Taylor, Jackson Browne, J. D. Souther, Judee Sill, Linda Ronstadt and Stone Poneys, Ned Doheny, Bonnie Raitt, Harry Nilsson; and Micky Dolenz & Peter Tork of The Monkees. Cass Elliot's home was considered one of Laurel Canyon's biggest party houses with all-night, drug-fueled sleepovers, well attended by the hippest musicians and movie stars of the era.

Great drive.. I love the addition of the notes along with street names. It really helped. Keep up the great work. GOD bless
Thanks Susan! Glad you liked the additional info. I'll keep adding them to my videos
The notes are great indeed 👍
Thank you!
I had family that lived on Carmar Drive right above the Laurel Canyon Dog Park. Used to visit all of the time when I was younger. If you ever get up towards there, that would be a dream drive video for me to revisit the nostalgia and see how it’s changed. Thank you!
I'll plan to include that street when I do another drive when I'm in that area ❤
Great work. Very interesting and beautiful. Thank you very much. I need to be there
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much!
First to comment on this cool video from Bulgaria, we are coming soon to buy a cozy home there, with a panoramic view towards the Hollywood sign, love the vibe. Thanks for sharing. ❤
you must be a millionaire a tleast
Sounds great! Hope you find a beautiful home here! Thank you for watching! ❤
Another very interesting ride, thank you. I adore properties with character and can honestly say that the near endless supply of square box and glass look dwellings on display leaves me cold, I don't care how many millions they sell for. Also, for such an affluent area the roads are in a shockingly bad state of repair.😕 Seattle Drive looked particularly awful. I hope your car suspension was ok afterwards! 😊
I totally agree! repair and regular maintenance is needed! Haven't been to Seattle in ages!
Beautiful ! Love these videos ! Thank you ! ❤ the Hollywood Hills !
Thank you! Glad you like them! ❤
Video number 100! Lets gooo! I'll watch this after work
I swear, 25:50 is the first old-ish car I've seen
31:40 looks real nice though,
All in all, another excellent video. And the notes add a lot more information and make the video much better
Thank you! Yah that looks like a bmw from the 80's? Yah that house was nice! Glad you're liking the additional info!
I live in one of the shitty parts of Louisiana, and I'm addicted to channels like this. I also take drives like this whenever I play video games. Keep up the good work
Glad you're enjoying my videos! Thank you!
Love your tours! Thank you.
Glad you like them! ❤
I really want to go to California, but I haven’t had the chance yet. This helps me a lot. Thank you
It's lovely, theres an energy to California. I won't lie I preferred San Francisco to LA. My heart belongs to Vegas though. The desert speaks to me.
Hope you get to move here some day! Glad I can help!
Debbie I use to live in San Francisco. Great city too!
@@Omwvlog used to seriously think about moving to the states as I'm the most non-british person butttt the healthcare system put me off
@Omwvlog young man I don't even know your name, how rude of me. I understand if you want anonymity. Also do you have social media for your channel. I follow some other content creators like Grimmlife Collective and Lou C on socials.
Hello from Thailand. I’m delighted that YT recommended your channel. I enjoy virtually exploring places with you in California. It would be wonderful if you could take us to explore West Hills. Stay safe.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video! I don't know West Hills well.. But I'll do some research to plan a drive
This video is great! Thank you for sharing and adding notes!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Chào bạn tôi nói là bạn chia sẻ rất hay cảm ơn bạn
Cảm ơn bạn rất nhiều!
Don't forget "Blues from Laurel Canyon" by John Mayall.
Mayall lived in Laurel Canyon where his house burnt down in 1979.
Ooo good info! Did he end up rebuilding?
@@Omwvlog I don't think so. All sources say he lived there until 1979, the year of the fire.
The fire took away a huge record collection, diaries, book collections, magazine collections, videotapes, selfmade guitars, even a erotica collection dating back to the 1800s, antiques and much more. On top of that he even handmade the house himself.
It was on Grand View Drive. I'm not sure if you drove by it. I don't think so. About 20-30 house were destroyed. You can look up old newspapers with one witness declaring "It was like a war up there".
Oh wow that's a lot of stuff gone. I did drive Grand View on another video and the time stamp is 37:18 when I drive past his home. Can barely see it but it's the brown home to the right. ruclips.net/video/QKGCqLcvQHw/видео.html
@@Omwvlog Yeah, that's the place.
Great view from that house.
Cool you did drove by it once.
Great job! Thank you! The captions were very helpful. I'm in NC and am reading the "Harry Bosch" books by Michael Connelly, and just wanted to see what the setting for the series is actually like. Such a beautiful area!
Ooo I'm glad it was helpful! I really do enjoy the Hollywood Hills. It's so large and the vibe is different depending on the parts you visit. Thank you for watching!
Great vid. thank you
Thanks Albert! Glad you enjoyed it
Those large mansions are so close together, walking seems challenging here. They need to build an Amazon community convenience store up there for the residents
That would be a great idea! But due to local zoning. I doubt they'd allow it. They really need to loosen up zoning laws so we can have a more walkable city! Thanks for watching!
@ 11:20 What kind of trees are those I wonder. @ 12:14 Gas blowers aren't banned yet.
yah not sure what kind of trees those are but I bet they look nice when its full of leaves. I thought there was something passed about banning gas blowers but maybe that's still in process
This one remind of hollywood hills.
Do you like this area of the hollywood hills the most? Also, thanks for watching my videos Lisa!
Perfect antidote to a naff Monday.....and relex 😊 On a separate note that house at 11:32 ❤
Thanks Debbie! Yah lovin that house too!
@@Omwvlog great minds think alone eh 😉
hehe yes I agree!❤
Love from Indonesia ❤
Thank you!! ❤
Lots of vegetation, no flowers.
it never gets cold in southern CA.@BobV-nk1yq
@BobV-nk1yqcame to say this.
😀👍
Thank you!
Please drive to the very top of Woodrow Wilson Dr. There you will find the iconic house of Sid Krofft.
Ooo I'll be sure to drive that particular street of Woodrow Wilson Dr next time!
👍
Thank you!
Beautiful terrain but all the garbage cans seem very unsightly!!
Yah. those garbage cans are definitely unsightly! Thank you for watching!
I expected to see mudslides disaster zone.
I tried doing this drive 3 weeks ago. But there was road closures. There was a particular area in the video where it seemed like the hillside was tarped/covered to deter more erosion/mudslides for anymore rain
Why is there so much noise?
Noise?
How it saddens me to see countless Mercedes, Audi and other luxury cars in this once beautiful haven of the simplistic, the dreamer, the free spirited. Today, it is an enclave of hypocrisy. So sad to see it fall into the pit of hypocrisy.....
Beverly Hills?Mulholland Drive?
I'll do some more Beverly Hills soon. I'm waiting for Mulholland Drive to completely open up from the mudslide closure to do one ☺️
Thanks for that. I lived on Woodstock Rd for 20 years so it was nice to see the old neighborhood again.
Glad you enjoyed it! Has it changed much since you lived there?
It's obviously trash day😊
lol yes!
😭😭 I want money so bad 😭😭
Same!
Do you drive an EV? 🤔
I’d love an EV. Would save on all the gas! But I have an old accord
Too bad the ugly power lines are so visible.
You don't notice it as much while driving through the area. I think the video catches so many things you normally wouldn't. Thanks for watching!
@@Omwvlog my pleasure.
