Your mechanical abilities are incredible, but what's more impressive is your videography, it is unmatched. Your camera angles, and editing are the best on RUclips.
Hey Simon, Leonardo from Brazil. I’m sorry about your snowmobile but I’ve got to say your RUclips channel is in another level. No talking, no ego. Just plain mechanical ability. Thank you for that.
I dunno.. He was already pretty damn smart! LOL. I don't think he could have learned too much from this except "Don't forget important things". Which I suspect he already knew. Sigh...... So sad.
Jesus, another masterpiece of yours. Signature stuff, there's revival, drama, death, sadness and hopes for the future. It's sad to see the horrible death of the snow mobile, but it made for a very engaging plot.
I saw you blocked the overflow pipes on the bottom of the carburetors they should have long pipes going away from the engine to the outside then if a float sticks it doesn't put fual in the airbox and set fire just goes out the overflow and you smell it before it sets on fire hopefully i love your videos also sorry you lost your snowmobile
I had it out for about 20 minutes prior before leaving the brake on. At that time I popped the hood and checked on things, it was running pretty great.
You're seriously revolutionizing youtube content with your cool, level headed, no frills professionalism and unmatched shots. Serious time goes into these videos. A shout out to anyone else helping you with this, if such person exists. Change nothing. Ever. So many tubers blow up and forget what got them there in the first place. Cheers from a 53 year old teacher from Budapest, Hungary. I don't even own a car.
Having recently binged most of his videos, the thing that is amazing to me, besides of course the knowledge and skill in auto repair, or amazing cinematography, is that he doesn’t freak out and swear when stuff goes wrong. I’ve worked on cars and other stuff for years and when you make a mistake that wastes time, or stuff you buy doesn’t fit, or fails, it’s aggravating. Maybe he’s just really conscious of being on camera, but that is so hard! I am so emotionally invested in my car repair stuff because it’s generally fixing up old cars that family will drive, I can’t help but get emotionally angry. So I have the utmost respect for this guy. Even when his project caught on fire! “I just gotta let it go…” AND he was out on the ice?! Call him Elsa Fordman! You need a Merch shop with a tee that says Let It Go, with a arctic cat on fire
So much love and care went into this machine. Sometimes we question ourselves and our capabilities. From experience I can tell you I too caught my rig on fire once but was lucky enough to have access to a fire extinguisher. You have balls for not only fixing the Cat but posting the video. A real man isn't afraid to admit when an honest mistake is made.
I live in the lower mid-Atlantic states and snow is rare, so I know nothing about snowmobiles. But this whole video was fascinating! Very impressive work. The last 10 minutes were beyond sad. So glad you’re OK and back home safely!
Hi Simon, we all make mistakes, it's part of learning, I'm also sorry about your snowmobile, don't be discouraged you have great mechanical skills. Thanks for that.
Most wouldn't try to put together something that someone else has torn down. Simon is fearless and just crazy enough to not care. If it can be done he will do it. Another fun Simon video that I watch every minute
Definitely was not expecting this.. But still , finding your channel on RUclips is the best thing since vice grip. Your videos are a piece of art. And if you continue your amazing content next year you'll be buying a new one. 😊 Thank you. And greetings from Holland!
Well that was just the best viewing. Brilliant to watch the way you work, methodical and knowledgeable. I must say, setting fire to it clear away mouse nests was a bit over the top😊. Main thing is that you're OK. Also, that 2 stroke sound, it took me back to my old dads Wartburg Knight from the 70's ❤. Wonderful. Thanks for a great 90 mins, didn't stop smiling, awesome!
Awesome videography, so sorry about the snowmobile man, that sucks. Quick comment from a dude your age that learned the hard way cause I work on my projects alone as well; just be careful lifting and moving stuff man don’t hurt your back or something. Know it sounds basic it did to me too until one haste-fueled mistake! But you work very methodically anyways man love the channel, every vid has my full attention and you never have to speak a word!
Thank you. Yea, I was starting to feel it in my back with all the pull starting, dragging the thing around, and lifting the engine. I do need to be more careful.
Nice to see a real mechanic, you can tell by the way he cleaned the carb sliders, going around not vertical! Thought the mouse house was never going to end! ;-) Gutted for you Simon, what an ending!
I'm an Arctic Cat guy and have worked on several of the cats in this generation. The only good thing about triples is how they sound. That's about it 😂. Sorry that happened though, that sucks.
Man that really blows! I really hate the feeling after putting so much time and effort into a project just to have a bad accident, sorry that it happened to you, as always though you did a great job and you make great videos! Thank you for still posting a video on this project!
I'm only 33min in and I can't imagine how that thing's going to rip in the snow. My little RD350 was the fastest bike I owned and the only two stroke I've owned. Accelerated faster than my XS1100. I love the sound of triples, too.
I used to have a couple sleds… but then we stopped getting much snow in the winters and I couldn’t justify them anymore. So I sold them and bought a truck and some new tools. Worth it!
We all make mistakes, hard to catch everything all the time. Good experience putting it together and getting some fun on the snow and ice, looking forward to seeing the continuation of the story. Keep up the great work Simon
Two stroke snowmobiles… I could only dream of such fun. Thank you for sharing this and great work as usual! A bit of advice with spark plugs from experience. I daily a two stroke car and used to clean sparks with a wire brush. They don’t like that, after a couple of heat cycles they gave up. I just don’t clean them anymore. You can spay them with some strong carb cleaner to get the grime off. In any case, I hope you can find a good sled. Keep it up!

Sorry about your snowmobile, you put a lot of hard work into it. Don't give up Simon, you learn from your mistakes💪 and your videos are very well done. Greetings from Italy 🇮🇹
I'm impressed by the weather in your country, I also thank you for putting the temperature in Celsius, I can't even imagine what it feels like at -19. As always, I'm enjoying your video from start to finish.... I think they're hypnotic, good health.
I am so jealous, how deeply you can dive in for what you are doing. I am impressed how many different projects you have and love the way of your video editing. It is so relaxing to watch 🙃 and most important -you make me think what I would make differently in same situation. Well the end of snowmobile is very sad, but most important, you are safe. So we can hopefully enjoy your next projects 😊
Look at it this way, If you ever have kids, the first thing you will tell them when riding a ski is don't forget to release the brake! Life lesson for sure. Great video, painful loss of a nice machine. Look forward to what your next plan is!
oh my gosh, that sucks so bad. but plastic fuel filters in engine bay are a no no. at least it was an old sled. and when removing those carb float pins try a spring loaded center punch. they do great shocking stuck pins without risking breaking off the stands by hitting with hammer. if those break the carb is pretty much junk.
Wow bud. Great video. I know that mistake stung a bit with the police department and everyone looking on but the saving grace was that it made great content. Keep going Simon, you have something special going on here.
That was heartbreaking to watch, Simon. Your content is still some of the best out on RUclips and the channel is criminally under-viewed. We'll be here to watch whatever you put out.
While I can sit here and say "Great video as usual" I am sad to see the outcome! But it really was a great video to watch as usual! You put out some of the best mechanical videos on RUclips right now.

Truly. I'll never get past doing a few dumb things here and there, always learning.
@@SimonFordman we are all (and should be) still learning! Cheers!
I almost burst into tears at the end when the snowmobile burned down, everything was so good, it's just really good to watch...
Damn what an absolute bummer. You did a great job getting it running.
Yea, thank you
Hi! The good news is :You are Ok! 😊 sometimes life sucks. Thanks for the honest content.
Serious carnage! Good to see you show your mistakes as well, on this channel. Makes your videos more relatable.
