The change will be made when we stop making it about race. Yes, black people are "disproportionately" affected by police brutality but it's not exclusively their problem. It's not exclusively a "white cop" problem. It's a system problem in which we spent decades treating the police like they were soldiers defending our country from an external threat on our freedom. But not only do the police not defend our freedom, but they regularly infringe on our freedoms that are suppose to be protected by the same Constitution they swear to uphold.
If you change it to an economic issue, you will see that poor white, Hispanic and Asian people are disproportionately affected by problems with police than their better off counter-parts. Because there is more crime in poor neighborhoods, there is more engagement with police. The more engagement, the more opportunities for bad cops to do bad policing. If making black cops work black neighborhoods doesn't stop the violence then can we move on to a non-race related solution?
1) No immunity from accusations of violent crimes, civil rights or constitutional rights violations.
2) For every police force. A city/town/jurisdiction should set up an independent watch panel that receives all police complaints and has easy access to all bodycam and car cam footage to review complaints and give suggestions the local D.A. to recommend disciplinary actions or file criminal charges.
3) Bodycam footage, including audio, should remain on during the entire shift and any attempts to block the cam or audio during a detention or discussion with fellow cops about how to handle a problem, should be considered "obstruction of justice."
4) All police should have at least a full year of academic training on constitutional rights and higher court rulings that apply to constitutional rights. They don't need to "memorize" the Constitution and Bill of Rights word for word but they do need to prove they have a 100% understanding of these rights before becoming an "armed and dangerous" person on patrol. When I say 100%, I don't mean just getting a passing grade on a final exam.
5) Before becoming legally armed and dangerous, they must be physically trained in unarmed combat that gives them the ability to restrain a suspect without using deadly force or unnecessary abuse.
If you made it through all of that and found one thing you disagree with and want to argue that one point, acknowledge what you agree with first, so I know you aren't just being nit-picky or looking for attention. Because I won't respond.

This was a personal hit over a jealous cop, Tyre was fooling with his ex baby mama. If not for the pole camera, he, and his thug gang would have gotten away with it. The thug cop took a photo of Tyre propped up against his car, and sent it to his ex, this is caught on a body camera.

It's so sad, I can remember when I was growing up my grandparents telling me about how the police can kill us law. I've always disputed that by asking how can we as people get arrested for domestic situations and they can't, it didn't sit well on my soul. I didn't teach children that. The law is the law. CHANGE IS HERE
