Baby's Conversation With Grandmother

- This is my son (who was born in 1997) when he was around 1.5 years old, before he could talk. I guess nobody told him speaking the language was necessary for conversation! This conversation is still legendary in our family. Sadly, his grandmother passed away in 2009. She is missed every day. She was even more wonderful than she seems in this video.
Приколы
He is showing us he knows something about language. He is using eye gaze, intonation and phrasing to show a variety of expression and he is demonstrating conversational turn taking skills. Now all he needs is the actual vocabulary to fill in the jargon. Language development is fascinating. There is so much going on in this clip.
Me talking to my grandson… we are more alike than we think…😂😂😂😂😂
Tout à fait d accord l intonation y est ,il a le sens de la conversation vous àvez raison, ne manque que le vocabulaire ,
He has so much he wants to say, God bless him. He will be good at language. Full marks to grandmother for "conversing" with him. This will give him so much confidence in expressing himself.
You must be a speech and language therapist! Your observations and clinical impressions are spot on!
And at the end he said something that he thought was funny.
I love that Grandma isn’t using baby talk……she’s really encouraging a good conversation with her little man! ❤❤❤❤
Bless this Grandma; she's not only teaching himhow to talk but also how to listen!
Hello Yvonne
How are you doing today?
And she manages to keep serious without laughing. Wonderful exchange. ❤
This boy is so lucky to have his conversation recorded. I would have loved to know how I sounded as a child. He can now look back at this with hopefully great enjoyment and fondness, if not amazement.
I agree. Technology has evolved to the point where almost no parent should have an excuse from capturing precious moments like this in your child's development.
Experience speaking....You won't regret it and will be glad you did.
@@musicman4712 It becomes a "living legacy." I have photos...and memories, and that'll have to do. What I wouldn't give for my RUclips-like memories though.
I have a few of my boys. I cherish them.
That is how children need to be nurtured...beautiful...faith in humanity restored!!!!
That woman could talk to the wall !!!
"I can't understand you when you talk with your blocks..." 🥰 What a treasure this grandmommy is.
Hello how are you doing? My name is Richard p
What an amazing conversation between this grandma and grandson. She is amazing how she waits for his response and is totally engaged in him. Beautiful video, thank you for sharing.
That's so nice of you.... very amazing how are you doing?
Hello Leslie
How are you doing?
I watched the video many times because of my great admiration for this child, and I swear I almost died of laughter at his manner of speaking..Did you notice that he is waiting for his grandmother to finish speaking to respond to her..Now, I think he is 28 years old. Greetings to you, wonderful man.
That was a priceless conversation. Absolutely adorable.

Very true 🤗😘😂😂
This is so Nice.
Boy he's gonna be a talker! This is so adorable.
Mmm, that was 1999, hope he is being a talker now, 😂
Very fascinating to see that he has mastered expression in vocal cues such as pace, pitch, volume, etc, before words. It indicates that expression through vocal cues is actually fundamental in
communication and more important than the words themselves. Also, watch when the eye contact occurs. It is very specific. Amazing to watch!
This is the cutest talking baby, especially when he chuckles at his own conversations. Great grandma in bringing that out of the future orator!
Hello Cynthia
How are you doing today?
That little guy is taking up storm. He actually has cadence to his communications. What a delightful child.
That sweet child knows exactly what he is saying. We're the ones who need a translation. This is so sweet.
Hello how are you doing? My name is Richard Phillip
His Grandmother is a good listener , she didn't interrupt him and she treated him with respect !!
Oh my goodness this is too cute! He is carrying on a conversation that’s riveting! I love his expressions and his little face! I’m a Grandma so I can relate 🥰
Simply adorable, I love how he was trying to explain and laughed at his own jokes lol
He is certainly making several important points here in this conversation.....it’s so cute to see the baby talking to his g-ma......and she is loving every second of it! So sweet!

Ahhhhh, wouldn't it be lovely if everyone had a Grandma like this?
Yeah..... that's so nice to have a wonderful grandma
Hello Jean
How are you doing?
The laugh at the end and the grandma’s kiss & smile is like the cherry on top of this pure love and connection video.
I am a grandmother. I’m here to tell you all that there is absolutely nothing like it! Pure joy!
I just became a grandma for the first time 2 years ago to a little boy. He is adorable, keeps me on my toes. My daughter is having my second grand baby and it’s a girl still baking in my daughters womb. Will be done in April. Can’t wait to meet her. I told my daughter you aren’t a parent until you have more than one kid. She will be guessing which kid is telling the truth. 😂😂❤️❤️

All the best for your daughter and her little girl!🙏🏻
And may you have a lot of joy with your two angels!
It's the best time! 💝
@@alameas6358, thanks so much. 🥰🥰❤️❤️
I miss my gran so much. She raised me like a son. I felt sometimes my only purpose in life was to be there for her and sometimes it felt like after her husband passed away, I was a dear friend of hers. I used to pick her up in my car and we'd go for long drives, or i'd take her to the shops. Sometimes we had arguments but often we would share the gospels to one another and have church between the two of us. I found her on the couch and she passed in her sleep which was a blessing I suppose, I saw her last message was that via an sms from an old friend on the other side of the country talking about Jesus. In her Bible, she had a poem called "miss me but let me go". It's been such a long time but I think about her daily and I do not know how to function anymore. She had a really rough life, a sordid life in many aspects. She was a victim of many things and she overcame life threatening situations, the threat of being killed, losing all he possessions due to theft and incredible pain due to health issues. She never complained though, she was my "granny" and I loved her so much. It's been 4 years and I still tear up thinking about her. I don't know what to do but I know how proud she was of me, I was a washout but she'd call me her showpony and embarass me in public. It's embarrassing being an adult man and being called that but if I could go back, I would have given her a hug an and a kiss. I have many regrets, like not showing up for 2 weeks because I was out of the area, and not phoning her when I would do so every 2nd day... I ignored the instincts and paid. I just wanted to ask you, if that's okay... I you were in my shoes, and you were in hers... what do you think she'd be doing or thinking right now? That poem gets me... but it's difficult to let go. Every year things get worse. Everybody around me is dying. I wish I could go back.
@@cowboyanimal6700 Hello from California. I want to tell you that you are beating yourself up and you do not deserve it! I have so many beautiful memories of my grandmother, just like you. I was her eldest grandchild and, believe me , we adored each other. Looking back I know I had disappointed her sometimes especially in my 20’s and 30’s. When I was a little girl I lived with her on weekends at her Victorian home in San Francisco. She was pure love even though she outlived her husband and both sons.
Now, at 68, I realize that she understood that I had a young family, a corporate job, and so much to juggle every second.
I asked her why she thought it was difficult to tell children anything about life, and not listen to good advice. She said
“Dearie, younger people do what they are supposed to do, and older ones do what THEY are supposed to do.”
I promise you that you will see her again. Don’t worry so much about the past. The best is yet to come!
the baby speaks the language of angles and only grandmothers understand.
Is the baby speaking equilateral ?
Acute or obtuse?
He's acute one, but he's being a bit obtuse, am I right?
Elizabeth Wallace Geez, we're just making puns about angles.
How true you are Michael...I understand that language of Angels...
😄 He’s adorable and ready to talk. It’s so cute to see his lips and his tongue moving so fast. And then he laughs!.Thanks for sharing this. I really enjoyed it.

I love talking to my grandson! I can't wait to see him tomorrow!
How adorable this baby is. Gramma was serious conversing with grandson then at the end… 🌸
We may not know what he is saying, but HE does.
I also wonder what he thinks he is hearing.
This is precious. What a little star. 🤗 I love how Grandma really listens and leaves space for him to reply. So many adults don't do this.
Wonderful, brought tears to my eyes. 😘
Reminds me of when my niece wasn't talking like we do yet and had long chats on her toy telephone with all the intonation, and stresses that she heard others use when they talked. Beautiful too to see that special connection through eye contact between them at the end. 😍🙏💕
Makes you wonder what they’re thinking 😅
My youngest daughter used to do this. My wife would call me while I was at work in my office and would say that my daughter was missing me. I would then ask her to give the phone to my daughter. As soon as she heard my voice, she would go on this monologue for several minutes. I would just listen ... It was the sweetest thing I have ever heard.
Precious. The baby and the grandmother are equally delightful. He is such an animated conversationalist, and she is a wonderfully engaged listener to help him flow in conversation and feeling good about himself. 😊😌💜
I just love when she says I can’t understand you with your blocks in your mouth! Xxx
I know, wasn't that adorable.
So true... as if minus blocks he is completely understandable

Just beautiful ❤️ It doesn't matter at all that he's not saying 'words'. He's communicating with his adoring Nan, and she clearly is totally in love with him. If only all babies were loved this much. Thank you for sharing this very precious moment ❤️
This is a perfect Q&A between a loving sweet grandma and adorable grandson. He never hesitated with answers and she asked great questions!
This is how you talk to children, so they inturn learn to speak intelligently. Not goo goo gaa gaa!!

Just when you think the world's gone mad - this comes along.
I love this, and I want her to be my Granny. You know she’s a good cook, smells good, and tells a good bedtime story! I bet she has good cookies, too! She’s doing an amazing job teaching this baby how to talk. And I loved how she told him “I can’t understand you when you have blocks in your mouth” - just amazing!!
What a lovely grandmother!❤
There is nothing like a Grandmother's Love.
most grandmas
Exactly, that's exactly what I thought.
Too true!!! Most wonderful name in the world 😃😃😍🤩
And nothing more rewarding than a grandchild’s love in return ❤️❤️❤️
This is the ultimate response to feminism, most of them view families as a burden impsed on them by the "patriarchy", and the women who fail for this will never experience the comany and love of a grandchild. The rate of older childless women on antidepressants is off the charts.
He may not understand what he's saying, but he difinitely MEANS IT🌹
This is how children learn to talk...being engage with people who talk. At this point he may just be imitating speech patterns or perhaps he understood what she was saying, but didn't yet have the skills speak full words and sentences. I love the video of the little girl who has a very animated one sided conversation with the family bulldog...
He is SO adorable! I can’t wait to become a grandmother!
He's clearly talking. He's just not using words. All the intonation is there.

He looks like a toddler... I imagine he was talking within a few weeks of this video.
He is talking. You just don't speak Japanese. 😂😂😂 He even laughs at his own jokes. Steve Colbert lookout. Someone is going to take your job.😉😉😉
Indeed. Isn’t their development wonderful!
I wonder what they say, the language off angels
Everyone has a story to tell, all we need is a good listener. This is one beautiful conversation. Thanks for sharing.
If we listened with this love and open heart to each other daily with a true intent of understanding, what a different world this would be. So many beautiful lessons in this beautiful conversation. As a Grandmother myself I relate so much to the love being portrayed here. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL.so grateful you shared this with all of us on RUclips.

He thinks he's talking for real. So cute!
That’s an actual conversation he’s having with the grandma he loves. Total interaction going on there. and I really love how she talks to him quite seriously. He understands that.
Aweeee….What a great Grandmother and precious Grandbaby! I love how she really listens to him and he really talks to her! So much to say! LOL Thank you for posting this! Made my day!
He may not be saying words we understand, but he has a LOT of confidence in its veracity! 🤣👏🏼
Love how he puts emphasis into it WHERE needed. Lol.

I always talked like this with my children and grandchildren. I think it is important for them to feel like someone is trying to communicate with them. Makes them more interested in talking back and understanding. Love this video. Sorry the grandmother is gone. At least you have this treasure to remember her by!
😂😂😂😂😂 This is way too precious! I love it!
I like the way she made it into a serious conversation with no laughing.
What is so great is that Grandma keeps a straight face throughout!
So sweet! The funniest part is at 1:46 when she says "I can't understand you if you talk with the block (in your mouth)"
This is just the cutest. He's having a full conversation with grandma and even threw a joke in there at the end. Rest in peace to wonderful grandma.
My hat off to this grandmother who managed to keep a straight face til the end! ❤️❤️
Grandmas just have that knack with the kids.
They know that no matter what, it's ok with gramdma. Acceptance is so cool.💓😁
I've always said, being a grandparent is getting a 'do over', because we finally get to just have fun.

Hello Lynne
How are you doing?
I was just reading that studies show that conversations like this, even before the child can actually talk, are very helpful for development. This one is priceless!
Laura Miner definitely, you can see this baby has the opportunity to learn the rules of conversation, turn-taking, responding to the other person, eye contact, expressing himself with non-verbal, intonation, and the best thing, he is being LISTENED to and that will ensure his development will continue

He reminds me of my own daughter when she was a baby. She would get so expressive and talk with her hands. Friends from church and people in public would always ask me what she was saying and I’d be 🤷🏼♀️ she has her own language. 🤣😂

He clearly understand the give and take of conversation. Well done, little man. Lucky grandma!
Quite a conversationalist.Knows how to do the back and forth. Adorable.
The only people who would hit the dislike button on a video as heartwarming as this are those who never had a grandmother, or for that matter, anyone, who listened to them with such unconditional love and acceptance. It must drive them crazy to witness what love in action looks like, and the confidence and trust that it builds.

For the same reason you are a dictator. People have a right to their own opinion.

Some people cannot connect with babies. A man me and my daughter and grandkids shared a train coach with became annoyed because the kids were making "noise". Well he changed coaches which was good.
Some people do not like babies or kids of any discrption. They probably have their reasons.
