- The Alltrails app is a great tool for anyone who is looking to get out into the woods and do some hiking. There are two versions of the alltrails app, a paid version and a free version. In this video, I will be giving you a beginner's guide to the free version of alltrails. Alltrails can be used to find trails near you to hike, as well as navigate on those trails. I believe that the alltrails app is a great tool for anyone looking to get out and do some hiking.

Awesome content buddy.Why won't the map on my i phone 11 stay open when using.Stays on for 30 seconds then goes to screen saver until i open it again.My progress is being tracked from start to finish but want it on the screen for the ride.Is plugged in and charging while riding.Is it a i phone setting or the app?Stays open when using Google maps till the trip is over why not Alltrails i wonder.

I got interested when I randomly decided to go for a for a couple mile hike nearby. It all went from there haha

I didn't finish yet but thanks for putting this out. I've been playing with all trails. You look to be near us, do you have much experience at Tuscarora state forest? There seems to be a good amount of trails there. Relatively easy overnights would be great. Others in the Harrisburg area that you recommend would also be welcome. Thanks, I've been enjoying your videos.
I actually don't have any experience at tuscarora. I'd definitely like to check it out sometime. In that time frame from where I am I usually head to Michaux state forest. Tons of great hiking and camping there.
@@HikeIntoTheSunsetwe go to michaux some but I’ve always had trouble finding loops to hike, we end up just hiking out and back on the at. This weekend we did the Tuscarora flat rock loop parked at elk rd to start. It was a good hike, climbs pretty steep. It was tough for us dads, the kids did great though.
Is there a way to see how far to a pin or point on the trail?
@@dirtsmiles8098 there should be plenty of loops pretty much anywhere on alltrails. If someone dropped way points on there track when you click onto it you should see an elevation plot below it. If you slide along the elevation plot it will start moving a marker around on the GPS track with distance. This will give you a pretty accurate distance from start point to anywhere along the route.
