I grew up w/ Navratilova as might favorite women's player. It later went from Venus to Serena cuz Serena is the GOAT of the WTA and Venus made me crazy w/ her erratic serves & droves of UEs.

The stats are a little misleading. Actually Martina has a total of 59 Grand Slams, its just that 41 were doubles. People who really understand can see that no one in our lifetimes, in this era, has even a remote chance to win 60 slams. It's really crazy.

Martina owns this record for all time. There is zero chance of anyone breaking this record.

The woman shown at 28 may be a “Svetlana Kuznetsova” but definitely not THE Svetlana Kuznetsova

Respectfully, while I agree with most of the selected players, the ranking positions are off for several of them. Just going by titles won is not the way to rank them. You can win 15 titles at 250 level events and, 10 at 500, but have 1 major. That doesn't make you better than a player with 14 titles overall but 6 1000 titles and 3 majors. Serena has to be at least top 2. Swiatek needs to be higher, as does Henin, while King, Wade, and Davenport should be lower.

I disagree... with the Serena should be in the top 2 comment. She simply has too few tournament wins. She's 30 below Steffi and almost 100 below Evert and Navratilova... that should account for something. Her stats get even more watered down if we divide her wins (or that of all players) by the time they played. For example: She played 10 more seasons than Graf, but won much less than Graf overall...

Not at all. These comparisons are a popularity contest unless the same measuring stick is used on everyone. Titles, including Slams, is very straightforward and fair to all pro players unless you change how you will measure success and greatness. For example, Serena made far more $$$ than Martina and Chris. That really is one way to measure success! But it doesn't necessarily mean she is/was a far better player measured across history. Also, it's obvious Serena turned into a more powerful player than virtually all players, including for example Chris Evert. But did that get her more tournament wins across decades of competition? Nope.

@@Will-yz7oi Prize money is never an indicator of success in tennis. Especially not in comparison with players from the past. In the past a GS victory gave Chris / Martina and Steffi sth like $50k (basically what players today earn in the first round). Obvi prize money increased and by 1999 Graf earned $500k for her FO title.

Margaret Smith Court won 192 Titles. If it is 92 through Open Eras ! Why Grandslam remain 24 ? Will be lesser than 24 counting only from Open Eras
