Thank you for this video I was worried about those links and if I should order them wasn’t sure if they’d fit but now I know they do so I appreciate it for that! 👍
Just bought one of these on the strength of your review, Ive actually bought the FTX Utah which is the same I am led to believe. Loving it up to now, just have to save up now for all these mods lol. Appreciate your time and enjoying your vids.
thoose axles just finish that car off looks really cool with them and defintely brought that extra weight from stopping it just lifting the front end great vid as always m8. I bet u are 1 of the only ppl enjoying all this rain aswell in the uk so u can go extra mudding during the summer lol
Thanks very much mate 👍 Yeah I was really happy with the difference it made. I'm sure it could be even better with brass wheels as well, but I really like these ally ones. 👍 🤣 Unfortunately I haven't been able to get out in it, been busy building my truck for the RC event next weekend! 😬👍
Some pretty cool upgrades there. The shafts look cool. Shame they didn’t fit this. Maybe machine them down. I wonder if they do them for other mini crawlers?
Thanks very much mate. I'm sure you could work your magic on the shafts. 👍 Yeah they do stuff for lots of other brands too. I already run their axles on one of my FCX24 K5's and my TRX4M High Trail. 👍
Nice vid man, thanks! I just got a FTX Utah, which is just the same as the Evo Pro but licensed for Europe.. (Same as the HobbyPlus GOAT too!) These axels look really good, but got to save up a bit more before I can justify spending.... : ) Those axels, the aluminium Links, and a new steering servo, that's my shopping list haha! : )
Thanks very much 👍 Yeah they're all basically the same rig. I really like the axles, really nice quality and definitely made a difference with some extra weight. You could just buy some brass wheels instead, that would add some nice low weight. The stock tyres are OK, but the Injora Cling Ons are awesome. 👍😎
Great content! I have the same rig with same rcawd upgrades, for better weight distribution I use stock plastic rear portal covers on this rcawd rear axel. I also noticed that slop on the portal shafts, i’m almost sure there is too much play in the portals ball bearings, I have to try hobby plus/furitek bearings set
Thanks very much 👍😁 It's an awesome rig isn't it. Yeah I wondered that on the bearing, but the pin is really thin, so it looked more like movement on the pin, as the brass cover just sits on it like a normal hex adapter. Will see if I have some thicker pins to try. 👍
Thanks very much 👍😁 No they're not waterproof, the motor is an outrunner, so it's not sealed. You can see the board on the ESC too, so I wouldn't trust getting it wet tbh. Furitek are bringing out an all in one fully waterproof esc soon, like a Fusion for a tenth scale. 👍
Hey. Have one too and mine has extreme play in the portal gears, wheel hubs and diffs (ftx Utah version). This is extremly annoying when gowning down hill. When the drivetrain gets load free due to gravity it simply rolll forward. Depending on terrrain this results in sloppy movement. This is much less apperent when going up the hill. Taking about~1" or 25-30mm of movement Especally an issue with larger wheels the evo pro has..
mate a similar things happening to me. my servo cant cope with the weight ive put on the fcx18, ive contacted multiple companys asking for a direct fit upgrade and no one is replying. those rcawd axles look good
Yeah the stock steering servo on the FCX18 can't handle much extra weight. The FCX18 uses the different connectors, but I think you can get adaptor cables, pretty sure I saw one recently. The Evo Pro or FTX Utah just use a standard receiver, so you could fit any micro servo. 👍
@@DoURC added locktite 638 to the pins the hold the gears to the shafts and also added so PTFE tape around the end of the shafts where they go into the diffs. So much better now. I have a video on the difference it has made on my channel if you want to have a look.
Are you in the US? I only ask due to the Amazon US links and in other videos you say dollars instead of pounds or maybe both. The truck looks good, a lot of money altogether mind you. Edit: Might be worth removing the link for the driveshafts seeing as they don't fit.
No I'm in the UK. The Amazon links are because of the Amazon Associate program. I say dollars as most my viewers are outside the UK and most the sites list all their stuff in dollars, so is just easier. 👍
I'm really happy with them, had no issues and I run them on 3 different rigs now. 👍 Got a discount code in the description if you buy direct from RCAWD. Also there is 20% off in the Amazon Prime Day Sale. 👍
@@DoURC thanks for that, I'm looking at cheaper options, would love their set up but a bit rich for me at this moment in time. Do you happen to know if the FMS axles fit bu any chance. Sorry to be a pain 👍
Yeah, it's all about cost saving I guess. So far the stock plastic ones have been OK. Hopefully Injora or RCAWD will do some soon, as I think it will become a more popular rig now some other brands have taken it on as well, like FTX. 👍
@@DoURC my driveshafts gave out as have many others. The cr18 line is very confusing to find proper fitting shafts. Rcawd says they make one for the evo pro t hunter but the rear is 4mm too long. Need 45mm front 60mm rear.
@DanhNguyenster64 Ah ok. Yeah I guess it's similar to the TRX4M and FCX18 where they have different wheelbase models. I'm surprised the CR18P Evo isn't more popular tbh, as its such good value for money. 👍
@@DoURC As someone thats looking at getting the FTX version, do you know if there's anything different spec wise between the two that would sway you one way or the other?
@aidaningham7484 No I believe they're identical, you can get a brushed or brushless version. Only differences are the bodies to my knowledge. Most the FTX rigs are other brands, just rebranded. 👍
My brushless Evo Pro is looking pretty bare right about now… This is EXACTLY the video I’ve been waiting for somebody to make!!
Thanks very much, hope it was helpful. It's a great platform, the best brushless rtr imo. 👍
Ikr I’m probably getting this next in the brushless version, now I know where and what to get

I had to buy the red shell too for the same reason as you watching the motor and servo in action whilst youre driving lol
Thanks very much, glad you're enjoying them. 👍
Yeah it's the same, just re-branded. For the money it's an awesome deal and insanely capable. 👍😎
🤣 Yeah it's so cool isn't it. Sometimes it's the little things that put a smile on our faces. 🤣👍😁
@@DoURC just as well lol 😜👍
These are sooooo nice, I want some😢😢😢 Very expensive though unfortunately.
Well done. Thanks for sharing. I’ve yet to use anything from RCAWD.
Definitely looking up there products now.

Yeah the stock hex extenders had loads of play on mine. The actual portals themselves seemed OK on mine.

the slop/backlash in these is sooo bad. Good job i have fixed it with my Ftx Utah
