Cameraperson is also amazing and deserves props, but he is amazing in doing a different thing. He is getting around physically like Bear, but would be allowed to use other equipment (like ropes instead of finding natural vines) to help and other comforts. Bear is demonstrating how to improvise with the materials around. Cameraperson has the skills to do the camera work. Bear has the skills to do this while clearly explaining what he's doing in a charismatic way and deciding the best routes and choices for this continuous demonstration. I'm not saying that one is better than the other. But it makes sense to me that Bear is the one that is featured, and that we don't see what happens with the camera people and other crew. It makes for a better program to focus on one person.

You can use rattan to make a fire thong too. You split the rattan and cut it off at the desired length and find a piece of wood that should be between soft and hard, then you drill a hole through the flat side and make a groove for the rattan in the other, you then set it on another stick to get the piece off the ground, and start pulling on each side really hard until you have an ember, and you can use dry bamboo or something to make the fire.

I think if this was a tutorial on how to launch and execute a special forces bag and tag operation, it would be quite valid. But the fact that its supposed to be what to do in a survival situation, makes almost everyrhing he does, fucking insane.
