I know this is 4 years old, but I have to comment for anyone that might run across this video. I have watched quite a number of videos to learn how to create an accurate and professional looking project bag. This woman not only shows you how to do it, but she does it in front of you. I have watched several where they say how to do it but go on to do a sloppy job, not here! She shows you how to make it look professional and it does. Thank you so much!
That means so much. I’m glad it was helpful!
@@JennCrafts I sewed it yesterday and it turned out fantastic! Thanks for the great tips and instructions. So easy to make any size. I made the small one. Will be making many more!
I just found you several years laterr and this tutuorial was just what I was looking for. You explained it so thoroughly and then showed us as well. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. And thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Hi Jenn..........Just wanted to say I've been sewing for over 50 years and teaching sewing for over 30 years and must sat you've done a beautiful job. Not only with the sewing, but with the teaching as well. You were clear and very concise. There would be absolutely no problem with any level of sewer to understand the directions. LOVE your corners. Take care and have a great day!! Hugs from Canada! (Yes, I'm a hugger. We hug alot up here because it's so damn cold!!)
Hugs from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 I miss hugging people 💗 just out of our fourth lockdown thanks for being a teacher 💗
Hi from France. 🥰
I would like to thank a lot american craft women because you always find the perfect storage for all ... in yarn storage, in fabric storage and Floss Tube storage.
I saw your video for this pouch and I like very much. So this morning I have made mine, and it's nice.
Thanks a lot and happy crafting 🙂❤🌹
I am not a sew-er, I found a lady on Etsy who makes and sells these project bags. They are beautiful and so useful. I have oredered so many from her. I will gladly pay her whatever she wants for them, as I now see how much work goes into making them. Thank you for this wonderful tutorial video. Well done!!
When I insert the vinyl into the strip underneath the zipper, I run a light line of of glue from a fabric glue stick to keep the vinyl from slipping out. It has worked great for me.
I do the same and mine is always better this way. For some reason the vinyl always slips and is unevenly stitched if i don't use the glue .
I'd recommend unzipping the zipper, then using wonder clips along the length of the open zipper to keep the vinyl in place on that second strip.
Thank you. I cannot put into words how much I hate binding! You have changed my life!!!😄
I have had a pattern for these bags for at least a month, and I am not a seasoned sewer and I was scared to start. This video tutorial is remarkable, simply fantastic. It was so easy to follow, every question that I could possibly ask was answered. I am so thankful that there are people that make these tutorials. Thank you thank you!!!!
Oh my word, I love this project bag 💜 I've now made four for myself 15 x 12" and one for a colleague plus two at 13 X 10" and one for a colleague who has just started cross stitch. I made myself a chart for sizes 9 X 7; 11 X 8; the ones made up and 17 X 14" Going to go for even numbers next. They are so quick to make up and look so stylish. Thank you, thank you, thank you, from London, UK.
Update Oct 2021 - just made 2 more 15x12 this weekend. One for my 4 1/2 old granddaughter to hold her first sewing project - a quilt for her doll's cot and the other is for me, Christmas fabric for Christmas projects - a 12 days of Christmas quilt and tablecloth with cutlery keeper for my daughter.
Ornella Day wow you’re on a roll! That’s so awesome. Glad you found the video helpful :)
Is there a chance you could your share your chart
@@billiefrench1009 Hi, I replied earlier but I've managed to erase the reply! I have put the table on my Pinterest Board "BAGS!" and referenced Flosstube #23.5 Hope you can see it OK.
This is such a fun project, I have made many. They make nice gifts, too! Great tutorial.
This was my very first sewing project and I credit Jenn's tutorial for making it a big success. I didn't even know how to change to a zipper foot, so I appreciated that she did so on camera without bogging down the instruction with unnecessary information. Excellent pace, visuals, and tips!
This has to be the greatest video tutorial ever! I’ve made two bags and when I look at them I think I can’t believe I actually made them myself and it’s all because of your excellent tutorial. Thank you so much !!
I have been sewing for over 55 years. This is one of the best tutorials I've experienced. Can't wait to make mine :)
diane motley thanks so much!
Thanks for your tip about using your seam to ripper… I have that same problem with my fabric bunching sometimes. 🤩
Great video. I like the way you use the four inch strip on the bottom of the zipper. That makes a much neater finish. Thank you.
After struggling a couple times with other tutorials, I'm so glad I found yours! Thank you so much and I can't wait to make a bunch of bags for all my projects :)
So glad I can help! Enjoy! :)
I cranked out a bunch of these this weekend for holiday gifts for sewing friends. I watched a few different videos and this was definitely the most helpful one. Thank you!
This is an excellent tutorial. Very clear and concise. Thank you so very much. You have made this project bag very achievable.
Blessings Gail.🙋🏼♀️
Simplest way I’ve ever seen these made. Love your corners.
Some people think they are great teachers?? But you truly are!!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU for being so detailed and precise. This video was very consise compared to other videos I've seen. This is a WINNER and will follow YOUR video.
I've made a vinyl pouch but no fabric and wished I had seen your video before.
Again, thank you!!!
I watched this after watching about 10 others and this one was my favorite. Less steps and very clean looking bags. Looking forward to making some. Thanks! Bucky 😊
Excellent Video. The best and most efficient method and great instructions
I have seen many tutorials but your tutorial is so thorough and meticulous. This is my vinyl bag of choice to sew. Your finish and attention to detail is excellent. Love the fabric prints .Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge with others. Warm regards from sunny South Africa.
Thank you! You’re very concise, very thorough, & definitely a very awesome teacher!! I do sew, and I like to watch sewing videos. A beginner will be extremely happy to have found your channel!! Great job!!👍🏻👍🏻🤗🤗
That was fabulous! My bag came out great, couldn't be happier. Thank you. Much prefer this method to regular binding.
I’m so glad!!!
What a clever way to bind without having to mess around with bias tape. Loved the tutorial, plan on making tons of these.
I like your design and approach to using vinyl.
This is a great video. Thank you so much. I have made several of these for my self. First time sewing with a zipper. You are GREAT!
I followed your step by step instructions and had no problem whatsoever making this large bag. It was very detailed and easy to follow. I can't wait to make some more! The binding was so easy to do with your tips. Thank you for sharing this tutorial! I've subscribed :0
Just an excellent tutorial! Your instructions helped me make a better bag with fewer of the headaches I have had with similar projects. Thanks for taking the time!

Thank you for such an easy to follow tutorial on bag making. It is so sweet of you to share.
Perfect tutoring. Thank you so much for sharing. I have seen all kind of vinyl bag videos but nothing as great as yours. I appreciate that you think the way I think as a dressmaker, inside should look as good as outside. You did great, love it. Keep on doing and helping people, you really are good at this. Thank you so much. 😘 😍 💖
Very well done! Thanks for sharing 😊 I have been looking for projects to use up my fat quarter fabric stash and this one is a winner.
I've watched a lot of videos on Project Bags and I have to say yours is at the top of the best list. You are very good at presentation, and clear as a bell on the steps done in the order, with great hints on each procedure. I really appreciate how well you did this tutorial. Hopefully, I will be making lots of Large and Small Project Bags in the near future. Thanks so much. Well Done!
Thank you so much! That means a lot! So glad I can help! Please tag me on Instagram so I can see your finished project bags!
@@JennCrafts hi Jenny, I don’t know Instagram unfortunately, but I will be looking into it when I complete one of these bags. Thanks. MD
Best tutorial I have seen for making these bags-very precise and descriptive-thank you for sharing!
Very easy to understand! Now I feel comfortable making one, thank you.
Wow this was super fast. They will make great gifts.
Thank you for sharing this! I really don’t know how to sew but have made a few like these of varying degree of quality! LOL Your tutorial really simplifies and explains the process. 👍
The BEST tutorial on these that Ive seen! Thank you!
This is one of the best tutorials I have found for making project bags. I love that she does everything in real time so it's easy to follow along.
very clear and precise. Thank You. One of best sewing instructions I have seen!
Excellent Video. Great Teaching. You go slow and explain everything. Keep up the Great Job and hope to see you with other projects like this.
Thank you very much for showing how to sew the vinyl bags. I can't wait to make one to hold my crosstitching projects. I found your instructions to be very clear.
Thank you for this video. I have made 8 project bags the last two days. Very clear instructions.
I made this project bag today…you made it so easy..thank you so much. I will check out your other videos for sure. Have a great day Jenn
Thank you very much for this outstanding design and demo. Using your video i manaaged to make a project pouch as a gift in less than three hours. I plan to use this to make several sets of project bags in varied sizes.
Well done! Your tutorial is clear, to the point, and excellently executed. I will be using this one from now on to make my bags. Thank you very much!
One of the best tutorial videos I have tried to use. Thank you so much.
This is by far the best tutorial for this style of bag I cannot thank you enough for all the details
Thank you so much. I made another project bag with separate binding and it was very difficult and didn't come out good. This bag and your binding method is SO much easier! All the edges came out straight and the corners mitered. It looks wonderful. I made three large bags. You are a genius!!!
I got two little bags like this for Christmas and wanted to know how to make a bigger one. Your tutorial is perfect for me and I love how you did your binding showing how to make the corners so neatly. Thank you.
Just found your site...great video ...love the way you used the extra fabric to bind.. week be making these.. thank you
Excellently done! Clear to understand, and follow along! Thank you and for the tip and tricks…………and cutting sizes!
I've made this bag of yours numerous times because I love how easy it is and the style. If it's a while in between I always have to come back to watch you miter the corners LOL! thanks so much for the detailed, up close folding of them.
Thank You! I really enjoyed seeing how the binding was included with the backing fabric. Be Well off to make a bag!
Thank you so much for this exceptional video tutorial! Well done! I have made four bags using your method and I am pleased as punch on how they came out!
Thank you. Very easy to follow and for including measurements without going to an Etsy site.
Excellent tutorial! Just a tip..i don’t have a nice small iron like you do so i use a seam roller to press the 1” edge binding in. Works great and i can go slow and see what im doing. Ive only made the larger size and looking forward to trying your smaller size. Thanks for a great tutorial!
Thanks for the great instructions for these project bags. I have made three & have one more to do for Christmas gifts. Then going to make myself a few. Merry Christmas
This is one of the best tutorials for a vinyl front fabric bag so far and I’ve watched a ton.
Hands down the simplest and best bag ever! Your tutorial is very easy to follow. Thank you for sharing!
Lovely tidy sewing and end project is perfect. Thanks for this clear concise tutorial !!!!!
Tqvm for this tutorial!! I have tried to make one and it turned out superb! Will definitely make more.
Jenn, thank you so just make my first vinyl project bag, and bless your heart….and I’m going to make more!!! 💚
Made one large and one small one these bags. The smaller bag could use one whole fat quarter size 20”*20” fabric. Decided into three windows with top stitch on top tissue paper for vinyl material so that my machine would not stuck down. Thank you for making this video.
This is a wonderful way to make this bag. Instructions and sewing are great. I will have to make it.
EXCELLENT tutorial!!! I am so glad it popped up in my feed. So much easier then having to fuss with which direction everything is supposed to be going. Looking forward to making these!!!!
This best explanation I've seen. Thank you for sharing.
I do like the idea of the zipper being enclosed, however, I can say YOUR method will be the one I use because it’s so quick. Thank you for sharing.
You can either use a vinyl roller foot, or even put cheap low tack painters tape where you want to sew...slides right through!
Just completed my first project bag. Wonderful instruction video, thank you. Off to make some more. I need more zips, darn this lockdown!
Your instructions are so clear. I made the bag and love it.
Hi Jenn!! Thankyou again for this tutorial!! IT is amazing!! I just made my own bag following all your steps and came out beutiful!!
I don’t know if I commented the first time I saw this tutorial, but it has been AMAZINGLY helpful. These project bags are a joy to make with your detailed instructions. I think I’ve made 6 of them since I first watched a few weeks ago. I sure hope you read this, and I sure hope you come back to Floss Tube. All the best to you!
Thanks so much for your kind words! I’m so glad that the video is helpful for you! :) I will try to make more videos when I have a bit more time to craft. I have a 1.5 year old toddler who keeps mama busy lol
What a great instructional video! Your instructions are so clear and it looks so easy compared to other videos I've watched. I can't wait to try and make a bag like this. Thank you!
Love the self binding. So much easier than making/buying bias tape and having so many layers to sew through. And thanks for he mitered corners tutorial. I have just finished one of these bags using the bias way, but now that I found this much better method, I will be doing the next bag your way. Really excellent tutorial.
I’ve watched several project bag videos and this is by far the best! Thank you!
This is the best video I've seen on RUclips for this project which includes a sort of self binding mitred corner. Thankyou so much it has relieved a lot of anxiety for the ' first timers' I teach on a voluntary basis. Lynne (North East England) 🌹🌈
Made the large bag today and absolutely love it. Super easy to make and her instructions were easy to follow. Will definitely be making more. Thanks for the tutorial.
Excellent detailed tutorial. It’s the easiest vinyl zipper bag I’ve tried. Thank you.
Thank Jenn again for this video. Your video is still the best for making project bags. 🤗
Yours is the first video I watched then couldn’t remember where I saw it!!! Yay!
This is my favorite of the project bag videos. Thanks so much for sharing this process with us!!!
Excellent tutorial. I have made project bags in the past but your measurements and instructions make these bags so easy to make. Thank you!
You did an outstanding job explaining and showing how to create a project bag. I watched quite a few and they pale in comparison next to your tutorial. You made it so simple and easy. Thank you
Just made my 2nd bag. Your directions are super easy to follow. Thank you! I have the vinyl with the blue paper, seems really flimsy compared to what you are using. However, I bought a yard of it so I'm going to finish it up and get the yellow paper vinyl next time. LOL Thanks!
I like how you make this bag. Thank you for making this project tutorial! Very easy to understand!
Just made two bags one small and one large....excellent tutorial....super easy and super quick and I stink at sewing zippers...you explained it perfectly! Thank you!!
Lucy Strenkowski - Howell yay I’m so glad!! If you post them on Instagram please tag me! Or send me a pic via direct message. I love seeing finished bags!
WOW! I now have the courage to try this! Thank you!
Such a nice easy bag to make. I’ll be making a bunch of these tomorrow and I’ll definitely use the tip about the seam ripper on the corners! Thanks!!!!
This is the best vinyl bag tutorial I have watched! Thank you
Thank you for sharing...I did make this and the only thing I would recommend differently is to baste the layers together prior to binding and I like quilting the layers together and just using a separate binding. The layers seem to want to shift.
Ok!!! I love your tutorial. I have made four bags today and am so excited about how well they turned out. thank you, thank you, thank you for making this great tutorial!!
Excellent review on making the bag.Thank you.🌺🌺
WOW, really great instructions. Very thorough❤❤
