you were big help on these as far as knowing you don't have to mess with wires. just plug and play. I would like to ask if you had to wire up a resistor for installing the rear break lights so it would drop voltage for led brake lights? thanks for any help. I haven't done any less because of maybe having to do the resistor thing.
I got a new third brake light like yours and can’t figure out how my reverse lights work I have only had the red brake light, light up do you have setting in your truck for a cargo light to check it they work? I have a Denali and when I reverse the break light doesn’t come on up top
They don't come on in reverse. It's just a cargo light. Your dimmer light for the interior lights. When it is turned all the way up and it notches over the cargo lights come on.
I don't believe so. The tail light bulb has to be able to light another coil on the factory bulb to get brighter when you touch the brake. They might make some but probably won't notice much since the lenses are red.
Installed a light simaler in my 2010 Chevy and it works backwards.Cargo light comes on with brakes and brake only comes on when you turn on the cargo light. Only plugs in 1 way. No way to plug it in backwards.
Literally have the same break lamp that arrived today, but with a second wire for the outer lights. How would I get those hooked up with out anything else to connect to besides the connected clip for the brake led?
@@packwoodperformance4x474 yea, it has a red and black leading into a taped ceramic block, with no connector coming from the other side. I could splice it in with the connection but I wouldn’t want white lights coming on when I brake
Hey I bought the same third led light and it’s weird but when it’s night that you can see it better does it not light on like the rest of the rear light ?? Or does it only go off when you brake ?
Hey man I have a question for my 2001 Chevy I got a 3rd break light similar to yours but mine came with 2 wires and I’m not sure how to make it work any ideas?
1st I would make sure the knob to turn cargo light on is off. Then I would turn it on to see if the light turns off. Sometimes things get wired backwards.
either cabin light switch is all the way on, which would also turn on dome light in cab or you have a short some where. also try unplugging the wire from New 3rd BL and turn it 180 degrees. some less won't even come on unless wire is plugged in right way. MAY not do anything but worth a try
A question when you put one of the reverse gear does it have to turn on the reverse light on the 3rd or it has an independent swicth l have 2012 silverado and they don’t turn on only 3rd brake .
Third brake light is just a brake light and bed lights. My old truck had a switch to turn on bed lights. The truck in the video. I have to turn the knob to turn on all dome lights to turn on the bed lights.
I just recently installed those same break lights and a different but similar third break on my 07 Chevy. For some reason the white back up lights don’t turn on tho, does anyone know how to fix this?
@@packwoodperformance4x474 On the third break light. The outside white lights won’t turn on or anything. Even when backing up. They work on my tail lights
Great video. Sucks that I cant removed the 3rd brake light on my 95 tacoma. Seems like every one could just unscrew it and it comes out easily. I was there for like an hour till i gave up. The housing wouldn’t come off. 😔😔
Mine came off easy too. But I've seen where some people have siliconed "Glued" them on, when they start to leak. Instead of getting a new seal. I've had to run a plastic razor blade around one 50+ times to get it off with the hopes of not breaking it.
@@packwoodperformance4x474 in order for me to take the third brake light off i had to break it. There was no silicone to hold it in place. Once i broke it i had access to the back of the screws that actually had nuts holding it in place. It was a pain in the butt, but i managed to get it out.

Nope. Just plugged it in.

Thnx for the video! Much appreciated !
Can the bulbs for the reverse lights be used for the brake lights so you could have both LED brake lights and LED reverse lights?

That's crazy. They must have wired it backwards on light. I'd send it back or just cut and re wire it.
try flipping the wire you plugged in 180. I know so of the less don't work unless you plug them in right. just a thought before cutting wires
Literally have the same break lamp that arrived today, but with a second wire for the outer lights. How would I get those hooked up with out anything else to connect to besides the connected clip for the brake led?
That's weird. Just a loose wire by itself, no plug? Unless it's a ground wire to be connected to the body I'm not sure without seeing it.

Someone else posted something like this. Mine is different being newer but should only be 3 wires. Ground, hot for brake, and hot for cab light.
Hey Would you like to take an installation video for the High Mount Stop Light I sell? I will be happy to send you my product.

Your reverse lights on the taillights or the bed lights on the 3rd brake light?

On the third break light. The outside white lights won’t turn on or anything. Even when backing up. They work on my tail lights
And the 07 silverado doesn’t have a separate button to turn it on manually so not sure what’s going on
They don't turn on when in reverse.
Your dash light dimmer switch. Roll all the way up. When the dome light is on, The 3rd brake light bed lights should come on.
what fuse is it for the 3rd rear brake light. 2007 chevy silverado 1500
my 3rd light was staying on continuously although I set it off please help
Did you learn what fuse it was?
Just bought that 3rd rear brake light, idk why but those rear view light just aren't working, am I doing something wrong?
The bed lights? You turned them on in the cab?
roll your inside dome light switch all the way up till it clicks, that turns on cargo light off 3rd brake light

How do you turn on the cargo lights?
The turn knob that makes your dash lights bright or dim. When it is turned all the way for dome lights to come on. The cargo light goes on.
I think. I don't have that truck anymore
hey could you give me a link to where to buy the exact cargo light and the taillights you have thank you. your truck is vey nice by the way..
Thanks. 3rd brake light is in description I think I'll look for the tail lights.
U can find those tail lights on Amazon just have to look for them i have the same ones but smoked...
do the license plate lights fit for a 2010 Silverado ?
