Black housing lights for sure. I would say, match the fogs too. Another small upgrade that I’m sure you have looked into would be black factory Escalade door handles. Big difference
You should pick up one of those tailgate struts. Pretty cheap and simple upgrade but really nice especially when youre used to the soft opening on the new trucks
Super clean setup man. Just a suggestion for future content on this truck would be a black logo, maybe vertical or mesh grill with black and milled snowflakes. Color matched flares and chrome handles only. Not critiquing, just sharing the passion man. That black gmc in that body style has always been one cleanest trucks to me.
Cant wait until im done with upgrading my 04, new bumpers, front with a brush guard, new tailgate with tailgate cap, new headlights, new tail lights, new radio, remote start, new battery, 2nd battery, new cold air,
Just got one of these for $1,000 from a good friend, interior and exterior in perfect condition and everything is stock. Ive been watching all of your videos, ready to copy all of your ideas! lol keep em coming!
I just took orange marker housings off my S10, put in some black ones and it gave a much more aggressive look to the front. Replacing the bulbs to LEDs is a necessity for older trucks for sure. I went with Sylvania interior and exterior, solved the hyperflash with a Novita Flasher from Advance.
Those orange corner lights are t10 bulb size, the same as your tag lights and door lights. Put some white led ones in to match the switch back and it’ll look so much better
Bought my 2000 with a cracked windshield, i was surprised to be able to get a brand new shield for about a $120. What a difference a clean new shield makes! Its like there is no glass at all without all the little chips and scratches.
Might consider a good grease on all hinges, bit messy but the hinges will last forever. Squeek control and last forever. I get the tubes from any car place and load it on. The truck might one day be gone but the hinges will still be perfect. lol
I always spray all my hinges and latches with WD/40 when I buy a new (to me) truck! I like the chrome look personally, I have a 2018 F150 magnetic gray and all chrome… actually just added chrome mirrors over the weekend! Chomper looks good with the black/chrome combo for me… keep up the incredible work 👍
You should definitely look into the fleece light control for the 4 high mod I think they make them with a 6 high mod for these trucks with the fog lights
don’t unplug those amber lights in the front just buy some pure white ones to replace them. i have switchbacks as well and it looks sick when it blinks
Truck would look even meaner at night with some pure white rock lights to tie in with the leds, I had mine all decked out with the led lights and the relay to turn all the lights low high etc on at the same time
100% regular WD40 is one of the worst things you can use on truck hinges and door latches. There is a reason GM recommends super lube, it’s a silicone based lubricant. WD40 also makes some silicone based lubricants. WD40 won’t last more then a week keeping that hinge squeak free, and because it’s oil based it will attract dirt and can actually damage the latches and hinges.
The little light you said you was gonna unplug jus buy a switch back LED they're marker lights, you can buy a fuse thing from Fleece that'll turn on all the lights at once
I don’t even watch ur videos because I want to learn about what ur doing but your videos are exciting and you always learn something keep growing man!!
I like the black housings on the front headlights better to be honest. I run them in my 92 OBS Chevy even tho people tell me to put chromes in. Just my personal opinion.
Super sharp truck by the way! I've had from the 97 z71 (2 of those), 05 crew cab z71 smoke grey years ago that i kick myself for selling, a 09 z71, 2014 z71, 2017 denali, to a 2018 duramax, now a 09 duramax and a daily 4x4 06 tahoe, Those 99 to 06 models by far are the best, comfortable interior, easy to work on and the best motors by far! Wouldn't sell my tahoe for the world. Y
I only wish I could add WD-40 to everything on my old truck. Problem is I live in a desert and the oil only collects more dirt which makes it squeak even more. PB Blaster works better as it cleans up nice without any oil residue for dust to collect on.
Spray the door on bottom where the water drains out of door should have 3 on each door. How is the head lights at night any difference? Fog lights keep as same
I recommend the all on lights upgrade for the hi beam headlights now, I like the black headlights best, my '04 GMC has factory smoked lenses on all the light housings with the chrome grill
@@kadensheard3853 you can buy a little chip the goes under the fuses in the engine bay fuse box that just basically connects all the lights together. It’s about 20/30$ by fleece performance. They have a 6 hi which is lows/highs/fog and a 8 hi which is lows/highs/fogs/daytime running lights too for a couple bucks more
Having grown up in and around these trucks, that rear door squeak is factory 😂
My 04 Tahoe rear back door does it too 😅
@@nep639 my dad had one, both rear doors did it too😂
Yep my 02 crew cab has the same squeak in the back😂
Yeah, I even got scared when I got a project tahoe to lower it. It didn’t have any creaks on the doors. I was used to it.
Just needs some white lithium grease. Wd-40 isn't gonna do crap
Black housing lights for sure. I would say, match the fogs too. Another small upgrade that I’m sure you have looked into would be black factory Escalade door handles. Big difference
what year escalade handles work on the 01 silverado
Probably my favorite truck on RUclips. Clean and simple.
Silicone spray is great for those doors💯
You gotta do the 6-hi mod. Them body styles are sick when you have every light glowing at night🤙🏽
I agree
They sell a piece that lays in the fuse box for that.
You should pick up one of those tailgate struts. Pretty cheap and simple upgrade but really nice especially when youre used to the soft opening on the new trucks
Hey bro where can I get some or what is a brand I can look up? Thanks
I got that and it really is nice.
@@ARdave311deezee ez tailgate assist
My mom gave me one off Amazon for Christmas and it’s been sweet, super worth it, just a nice little thing to have

You should do a rear bumper swap on chomper from stock to the 2014+ chevy bumpers. Did one on my cateye and it looks amazing.
actually i think the 07-13 bumper looks better it goes better with the round look of these trucks
@@Tr3ygocraa actually I think the 19+ look better
Nah those little steps on both sides looks absolutely disgusting, I agree with 07-13 bumper them are nice
You are 100% right. Because of all the chrome, the black housing breaks it up. Looks awesome!!!
Love the videos. On my previous obs I had an adapter that would allow fog, low, and high beams all at once. Easy install
Hey. Here’s an idea. Keep the dark lights on chopper and put the clear lights on the red gmc.
Cant wait until im done with upgrading my 04, new bumpers, front with a brush guard, new tailgate with tailgate cap, new headlights, new tail lights, new radio, remote start, new battery, 2nd battery, new cold air,
I would like to see it with the clear headlights and a color matched grill, leaving the top strip of the bumper chrome.
Just got one of these for $1,000 from a good friend, interior and exterior in perfect condition and everything is stock. Ive been watching all of your videos, ready to copy all of your ideas! lol keep em coming!

Those are the only windshield wipers I buy and absolutely love them and I’ve since then switched over to the rain x windshield washer fluid as well
The squeak is a keeper give it that good ol truck feel
Ngl I think chomper is my favorite truck in the fleet rn I love the look of that black and chrome
Put the tool box and whip on. Put clears back in and get some chrome door handles

black gmc badge will totally tie it together
Black housing looks great. I’m an old school clear light halogen bulb guy but I might change my mind after seeing this
Vote for the black headlights... They tie in with the black tail lights... Some black fog light housings would really be the move
Can you post what lights you got for the inside and out. Which ones and where from. Thanks.
You should get a shock on your tailgate so it’s a soft open, I just got one and it makes it feel like a new truck
Rice family he is a very very great hard worker

Do a ranch hand brush guard🔥
black in black sierra and clears in red sierra!! on chomper you most definitely gotta tint those fogs!! looks awesome man
I always spray all my hinges and latches with WD/40 when I buy a new (to me) truck!
I like the chrome look personally, I have a 2018 F150 magnetic gray and all chrome… actually just added chrome mirrors over the weekend! Chomper looks good with the black/chrome combo for me… keep up the incredible work 👍

Black housing for sure.. looks badass

Just another follower Just got 2005 gmc sierra from older guy pretty much all stuck in the truck so excited to make it looks like yours
PLEASE consider a Denali grill, I think it would look amazing
Do you by chance have a link for all the bulbs you used?
did you ever find them?
don’t unplug those amber lights in the front just buy some pure white ones to replace them. i have switchbacks as well and it looks sick when it blinks
2001 Sierra reporting in. I simply accepted the driver door squeak.......I now consider it a bad of honor lol
Also recommended one of those under the tail gate brake lights with turn signal. Really improves viability and looks cool.
Do you have a list of the items purchased? I don’t see it on the description.
I did all the same light upgrades in my 2002 suburban it’s looks awesome. Makes everything super bright inside lol

No link for them black housing headlights?
Don’t unplug the front side marker lights they look good. You can get white LED for them also.
You should get rock lights. It would look great in my opinion.
This truck looks stunning 💪
what brand of led lights do you use on your trucks?
I like the black housings on the front headlights better to be honest. I run them in my 92 OBS Chevy even tho people tell me to put chromes in. Just my personal opinion.
You need to do the “6 high mod”. Allow you to use lows highs and fogs all at once
I think I like the chrome just a little bit better, but both look great.
Aye bro what leds did u use for the interior lights
What the lift setup? Truck looks amazing
3 min mark is exactly why i love those trucks. My 08 wants you to take off half the front or have small japanese hands.
where did u buy the interior lights at
I believe there is a graphite type spray that is better than wd-40. WD-40 attracts dirt and it the hinge can get gunked up.
Black housing looks good
Im go with some on my 2015 Chevy Silverado
You should start selling shirts with the saying “what’s goin on guys” on it I def buy one! Love you stuff man!
May want to fix that squat next
I love the black better than clear they stand out better and I love the black on black look keep up the good work look forward for more on chomper
Bro. Do you have part numbers on the bulbs you used?

What headlight leds you using? I don’t think you replaced them so I didn’t see what brand they are
Can you give us an update on your moog suspension please and if your satisfied with them can you please give us a link to them!
Tint the fog lights, I did on my 14' sierra and it ties it all in nice
I unplugged my corner lights. Definitely the move with switchbacks
Light bar behind grill!!!!!!!!👌🏽💯
Hey nice truck I have just like yours but I like it know where I can get the LED light’s
Can you please send the link of the Amazon shop you bought the lights from?
Spray the door on bottom where the water drains out of door should have 3 on each door. How is the head lights at night any difference? Fog lights keep as same
What kind and where did you the leds for the inside ?
Apparently I missed this part but what brand headlight and foglight bulbs?
where did you get the bullet antenna?, they keep sending me the wrong one for my 06 chevy
Put the black housings on the red truck and keep the clears for chomper
Where did you get the black housings from? I’ve ordered a couple of different versions and they fit like crap.
I love the color match headlights personally more then the chrome, but at the end of the day it's you're truck brother LMF for life 💪✌️
Where did you get all the bulbs any links?
Can I get a link to the interior bulbs you used and also the tail lights
Do you have a link to those switchbacks
The clear ones looks better IMO but with the black housing I would tint the fogs.
Keep the black housing,
Love them, they look tons better!
What is the part number for the turn signal
Clears the way to go always
I recommend the all on lights upgrade for the hi beam headlights now, I like the black headlights best, my '04 GMC has factory smoked lenses on all the light housings with the chrome grill

@Kaden Sheard i was trying to link the product from Amazon, i think youtube blocks linking LOL glad you got it figured out tho
Clean truck bro 🤙
Rubber silicon spray is a must for ALL VEHICLES
New lights look great
Do you happen to have the part numbers for all of the bulbs you used? That would be really helpful to those of us wanting to do the same upgrades.
I need to do that to mine. thanks for this.
Just curios what Rim's do you have on that truck. They look real good
Id use some white lithium grease, it will help lube the area constantly and keep it from squeaking
what headlight bulbs are those?
You can swap a Escalade flasher in place of the original and you don’t have to worry about resistors for turn signals
Keep the black housings and put the clears in Clifford 🤘
