I just got my WLJH Blue lights. Tested them with a 9v battery and the positive is on the right of the T. Thought I would throw that out there. Probably should check yours before soldering them all in. Great video bro!
just got a set of blue ones for my Toyota Camry .. coming in the mail now . mine are a 194 bulb .. the just insert into a holder and you rotate them in .. easy .. it just makes it look so much better . love the look of yours
Just finished mine. I also changed my AC controls to blue too. Looks freaking SWEAT. Thanks for the vid! It was super helpful. (Love how the truck is looking btw!)
I did this to my 05 2500. I did the entire interior though window switches, 4x4 switch, etc. also changed the gauge needles to white. Matches the blue better than orange imo
Your video is super easy to follow! Thanks!!! Im trying to do my 03 yukon, but I live in another country, so I was wondering if you know what size or voltage these LEDs are to try n find them on a local shoop in Mexico! 😬
Looks great, about how long did that take you? Did you have any trouble with the old lights, like taking them out? We're they soldered from the factory? Or just a push and turn type friction fit? Anyway looks a bunch better! Thanks for the update 😀. 👍✌🏻❄ 🇨🇦 😎.
@@warnerbu7lt thank you. I did mark them. Swapped the cluster LEDs for some I desoldered from my spare golf cart brake light bulbs. Worked perfect. Now my 04' Colorado has an all red dash!
Thanks for the video. Is there different dash inserts for the cluster? Also I have a 06 truck but cannot find the bullet style antenna to work for my truck. I'm definitely changing to these LED's
Hey. I have an 06 too and I just changed the antenna to a Bullet one. There 2 black adapters that comes with the antenna, you just gotta put them together and attach to the bullet antenna. Easy! Hope it helps!
I recalibrated the cluster after I got everything all buttoned up. However if you don’t have the tools to do so, I’d advise marking where each needle is naturally before removing them, that way you can install back to the proper position.
Looks great. I found the link for the lights on Amazon but I did not see the link for the diagram you found on a forum. Did I miss something? Can you still provide?
Thanks man! I also wish I lived in Texas haha. Honestly it’s way easier than you think, you can absolutely diy this as long as you’ve got a soldering gun and a few spare hours of time 🤙🏽
You can purchase aftermarket needles if you want to change the colour of those as well, but they share the same backlit LED’s as the rest of the cluster.
In any case, great video and very helpful. But yeah I feel like the red color option for these LEDs is just not bright enough to really be usable. I'd assume the same to be true for pink and green. But the blue looked awesome in your truck. Glad it worked for you. I'll probably go with that instead.
Just to let people be very cautious using those tall skinny leds that come with stepper motors... they are total shit. They short out inside very easily and then you are chasing after which fuse is blowing and figuring out which light/s are shorting out. Go ahead... ask me how I know. I just ordered some more. I had ordered stepper motors because my tach motor was messed up and I got these lights with them and I thought why not... blue lights in the dash. Kewl!! Many hours of fun for this fubar situation. ;-)
Unfortunately not. These are only designed to upgrade the backlighting for your gauges. I’d advise sending your cluster in to a reputable professional to have your circuit board fixed.
It is hard to see, but on the top of the LED there is a small T shape. If you're unable to see it, you can just test them all with a battery like I did and then label which side is your (-/+). Hope that helps!

That’s awesome, I plan on doing a full LED swap as well on my current build. The orange needles definitely need to go!
Are the same lights going to work in other vehicles though? I have a 2015 Toyota Tundra
Looks nice right after installing but how are they doing now? I am a bit leary cheep jungle leds.
Still going strong, no complaints on mine.
Thanks for the video so direct! Definitely doing this to my silverado
Nice work! I'm about to do the same job, so this video was really helpful.
Glad it helped you out!
I hope this is the same removal procedure with my 02 silverado, the guage cluster on the cateyes is a little different
Thanks for the link, these worked great!
Right on 🤟🏽
Great video very helpful and finally someone that leaves a link of the bulbs
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Great vid, thanks for sharing!😅

I really appreciate the polarity chart. Everyone else is selling it.
No problem, I had to search a lot of forums to find it, but figured I would save you guys the time & money!
now 2 years later how much have you used the truck and has any of the LED broken?

Thanks Marie! The whole job only took me about an hour or so to complete. The original bulbs came off super easy and were soldered from factory.

Good video, Cluster looks nice .
Thanks!
2:20 in your light is working. It's a miracle.

If you don’t have a recalibration tool, I’d suggest marking the needles position so that you can properly position them when you reinstall.

@@henrykaiser8809 It worked for me, FM very clear, I believe only the AM stations are not good with this type of antenna. FM should work normal!
How did you remove the old LEDs , just use needle nose and rip it off ?
Did the mileage display just not work on this truck? Should have just bought a different cluster
I was worried these bulbs weren’t even going to work on this truck so I feel relieved
I was sceptical myself, but they’re still going strong!
what do you do for a living ?
Beautiful mod great job! What offset tire set up you got?

Hi, nice job there. I noticed your fuel gauge needle was reading something when you were removing it. Did you had it put on again at the same reading?

How is it rescheduled again?
Bro that color base color is sick what's the paint code
Was the kit you linked, or very bulb? For the dash
Looks great. I found the link for the lights on Amazon but I did not see the link for the diagram you found on a forum. Did I miss something? Can you still provide?
I did not link the forum where I found the diagram as I show it in the video @ 5:00
I screenshot it. It's a little fuzzy, but you can make out what you need to know. Black dots are ground, and brown dots are positive.
Thank you so much I have a 1992 F-150 I’m looking for mods and this is a must
Hey! I was wondering were you dim the light from because I’m getting my dads 99 Chevy silveraldo for my first car !
There should be a vertical scroll/wheel dimmer on the left hand side of the instrument cluster 👍🏽
Very good job bro thanks. For your time
Wow that really looks nice
Appreciate it!
My guy, that looks insane!! Makes me want to do mine so bad now.

So are the t3's the actual light? Alot of t's popped up on the link i clicked
Yes, the T3’s are the correct LED
Why didnt u do the mileage blue. That's possible rite
Do these same bulbs work for the hvac controls and light/dimmer switch?
I’m not sure to be honest. I haven’t done those before.
Great video. Very helpful
Glad I was able to help!
Do you know the positives and negatives for cruise control, tow haul light etc? I cant find a diagram anywhere
I've listed each pin's positive terminal in the description, hope that helps!
Why do they need to be soldered in?
These clusters don’t have a plug and play like others, so you have to solder the new LED lights just like the OEM bulbs came.
Do the indicator needles have their own bulbs too? Is it possible to swap those out as well?
You can purchase aftermarket needles if you want to change the colour of those as well, but they share the same backlit LED’s as the rest of the cluster.
@@warnerbu7lt Ahh okay, so does each needle get its own LED?
Is there a possibility neg diagram on the circuit board I can follow thanks

I no longer have the link however, I've listed each pin's positive terminal in the description, hope that helps!
What year cateye do you have?
Do you know which is positive and negative on DS29?
I don’t unfortunately, however you can always use a digital multimeter to check the polarity
I bought those lights in red and they just weren't bright enough. Are yours bright enough?
Ah that sucks, the ones I installed were ridiculously bright.

What type of person that can do this specific job? A car electrician? Technician? I want to change mine but Im want to hire someone to do it for me.
What seats do you have in there they look nice
Just the OEM leather buckets my guy! They are in great shape though.
Would this work on a 02?
Do you know what kind of ledlights goes in a chevrolet express 2005. I hope you can help me. Thx
I don’t unfortunately, sorry.
I changed my lights on my 00 gmc sierra but the gauges won’t go back to normal, do I reset it?
If you didn’t mark exactly where the needles were prior to removal then you’ll need to recalibrate the tachometer.
How do I find this for my 2000 chevy silverado?
i've never soldered before....lol..but maybe ill give it a shot!

Did you test the LED’s before soldering?
🔥
Gotta do that to my truck!! Thanks!
You gotta get some red ones in your pickup! 💯
I can’t find the small t that you say
It is hard to see, but on the top of the LED there is a small T shape. If you're unable to see it, you can just test them all with a battery like I did and then label which side is your (-/+). Hope that helps!
What is flux
Flux removes the oxide films on the surface of metals and helps the solder to flow more uniformly rather than just balling up.
Would you do mine
They say they won’t ship to my address n I’m in California
You can also try and source another brand of LED’s, just read the reviews and ensure they’re compatible with the cluster
We’re just going to let it slide the gauges go to 200MPH?👀😮👀 ain’t no way
200KPH , we in Canada bro haha

Well they’re still going strong as of today! 🤷🏽♂️. I also obviously recalibrated my cluster after reassembly, just didn’t include that in the video.
Guess that is why it's wrong
Lol
This brand sucks I bought them and they didn’t last 2 months before I had to change them
Must have gotten a bad batch, cause mine are still as good as the day they were installed. 🤷🏽♂️
That's way to much work for color lights
It's not though. Like at all. Learn something new and challenge yourself ❤
