I inherited my dads 1987 starcraft meteor in January and I'm feeling so much love and closure from him by rebuilding the roof and getting it ready for his birthday camping trip in June.
My fiancé and I got a 2016 Viking 1906St last winter. We spent 60 nights in it last summer and travelled all of Alberta. It’s so easy to tow. We get into a routine for set up a tear down. It totally did change our lives! And now we’re only planning on a travel trailer to go full time.
In the early years of 84 my wife and I had a popup camper sold it for a 1980 VW popup camper and it worked better for us. So seaarch before you buy. God bless. and visit America.
I wish I had heard this 40 years ago. Don't wait for next year guys, life happens while you are making other plans and you may wish you could do it over again, but you can't!
We bought our pop up 2 1/2 years ago. Coleman/Fleetwood Utah. It’s actually how I found you on RUclips. Love the pop up and love the vids. Thanks brother!
We love watching your pop up / Pensacola videos. We are old and retired and the tent camping started to become challenging..getting off the ground. We purchased a pop up in January 2021, had no idea what to do and our " walk thru" left out about everything. You're videos have been very encouraging. In addition, my wife is from Pensacola and we lived there for several years in the 1980. We had a small sailboat that we kept at Bahia Mar and sailed almost every weekend. I fished the bridges and beaches for years before transferring to Birmingham. We do miss Pensacola but you keep us in the sights. That's a lot of words just to say thanks for the videos.
Last summer my husband and I bought our first pop up camper. We went back and forth about whether or not to get one for several years, so glad we finally went for it! We still have a little while before we can bring ours out for the season (we’re up in Michigan), but we can’t wait! Also one of your older videos about pop up camping is how I found your channel last year. Thanks for making great content! Your videos always put a smile on my face. Happy Camping!
Jack I wish there was a "Love" icon you totally hit the nail on the head here. We have a 2005 Starcraft that we LOVE. It's my second pop up. With a little elbow grease we made it totally ours. Heading your direction in a few weeks for a week at Ft. Pickens. We can't wait. Pop ups are the best in my opinion. Easy to tow, easy to store, easy to remodel/update. I can't see myself moving to an travel trailer. They are the best. Thanks for posting.
I loved my pop up but the crank stopped working and none of the camper places wouldn’t work on it. I’ve had two both the cables broke. Now I have an RPod 195 only 3300 lbs and I love it . Pulls like a dream.
Watched your videos on pop ups. We live in Colorado and we 100 % agree the best decision we ever made. We bought one with toilet.. Haha. Wife said doing without a shower is ok a couple of days but toilet was not an option. We have owned it now for 2 months and have already used it 4 weekends. Your video what to load in a pop up was spot on. Thanks for your video.
Big advantages of travel trailers are no wet, humid mattress/sleeping area like a pop up. No set up. Just open the door. Pull off into a truck stop, shopping center, retail store, rest station...on long trips for a few much needed hrs of shut eye for zero cost. The fridges, AC and beds are made a little bit better and are more comfortable. They make light weight travel trailers. And as soon as she gets the bug to upgrade, ya'll have one . :)
We got our first pop-up for $300 at a garage sale when we were stationed in Grand Forks, ND. Best thing we ever did! We had a lot of fun camping with friends over the years. We eventually upgraded to a newer one and loved it. We are currently looking for another one now, so if you know of anyone, let me know. Love the channel brother!
We have been tenting it all of my life but in January we bought one. We haven't taken it out yet but my husband is doing little repairs while we wait for a good time to go camping. We are very excited
My first 2 campers were pop-up campers. I don't regret it, we now have a motor home. Had it from 1986 until 2018. Gave it to a friend of ours, nobody wanted to buy it. It is in great shape, my friend camps in his yard with his 6 boys.
I’ve owned my pop-up for 15 years now. Best camping comfort you can buy without breaking the bank and don’t feel bad if I only use it a couple of weeks a year.
The smell of the mild mold was the smell of adventure: said no healthy lung ever! Great video Yak I've been on the fence a while but I gotta pull the trigger and get one now. Thanks
Oh man, what a nice video ! I also own a pop up tent myself and I love it. I live in Canada and it's though to stay with a pop up because everybody tend to have big nice VR or fifth-wheel. Your video reminded me all the reasons why I love my pop up trailer tent that I also modified trough the years. Keep up and keep well 👍
Hi! Just found you. Our first two, and we’ve only two, have been Jaycos and love them. Our popup now is a 2015, so a little easier because we have electric now. We are considering moving up to Class C Jayco and only for having shower/toilet. I know that can be an option in a popup, but just can’t fathom that in a popup, but pop ups are certainly special!
I 1st found this channel On your pop up camper. I was looking at popups at the time. Ended up going with a sonic single axle trailer. Then I seen your video on how to make money with a pickup truck. Then bought the simplest biz from John wilker. Good channel good work have fun folks🙂
Last december I finally bought a pop up. Found an older 1978 Starcraft and it needs love. It's definitely retro!. Almost done rebuilding top. Hope to get it out next month! Thanks for the encouragement and the videos.
living in Florida is a dream that I hold vary close to my heart! Maybe one day! We are from CT and so excited to start our camping adventure! Thank you for sharing all that fun and amazing adventures. We got a 2002 Colman Westlake!
Love your attitude with the pop up. We like our pop up, it's a Rockwood. Just took the sink out, because we never use it and I would rather have storage room.
The wife and I are now empty nesters (except for the 18 year old dog and 19 year old cat) and have been discussing getting a camper. We do like to have our own bathroom though so were looking more at a small tow behind with maybe a bunkhouse style so we can kidnap the grandkids sometimes. As for traveling, we figured out it was better at this point to rent cabins and lodges. We don't have to spend more on gas or have the worries/maintenance of having our own but can still go to off the wall places whenever we want. I still want a trailer though but it seems less like a vacation when it's your own stuff. LOL. Great video Jack and giving me the itch again. See you when the bridge is fixed. From Navarre, --Brent
Just bought 2018 forest river 1706. Still waiting to pick it up since the place is doing a get ready on it. Plenty of places here in and around San Antonio to use it. Thanks for the great videos.
Still young at 73, I have just begun to "get out there" with a pickup truck tent.. While I might gravitate to a pop-up or small cargo trailer, it definitely won't be an RV, the giant hole on the ground where you throw your money....!! Living here by Lake Mead, NV is 'Da Bomb'...!
Jack, you and Sam should come up to Murphy North Carolina this summer and stay at the KOA. You'd be about 30 minutes either way to one of the two gorges to do either tubing or white water rafting. The KOA is actually next door to the casino. Give it a thought. Also excellent trout fishing!
Have had a pop up for a couple years now, I love it, I'm off grid where I take it. Has been a great time. I had to rebuild mine, nut it was fairly easy. Cost me more in beer than materials.
I bought a Palomino Mustang back in July 2021. I've been getting it ready for Halloween weekend at the Texas Ren fest. Before I bought it I was on the fence about it but I watched your video and it inspired me to take the plunge. Even after watching all the " reasons to not buy a pop-up" videos, I'm upgrading from a tent! How freaking cool is a pop-up? I don't even care that my friend roasted me for buying one. I feel great about it. And if some day I decide it has become a huge pain in the ass, I will name it " The Hoyt" haha (my friends name)
I would totally consider one, if I didn’t live in bear country!!! 🐻😳. These look fun, lightweight, easy to handle, and pretty affordable! But I definitely would opt for the “bathroom”! LOL. Love the reno Samantha did! Great job! Can’t wait to see your adventures this summer! Thanks for sharing! God bless you!
Seeing your first video about getting a pop up inspired us to get one and it's been awesome since we've had one we've done some TLC work to it and even added a solar panel to it so we don't necessarily need electricity for the nicer times of year and we can still have lights and fan's if needed
Just sold mine after a number of really fun trips. Time to upgrade to something bigger because I'm retired and need a newer piece and a little more room!
Hi Yak. I am a carer, so I need to get away every couple of weeks. But caravans are sooooo expensive. This seems like the ideal way to go! I was just wondering how they go in the rain? Thanks for the video mate.
Tent to Popup to RV to Really Big RV! Mamma loves RVing! Spent that last year driving back and forth to Florida from NC during this bug! Retired Squid who has a retired squid that drives him around in a RV!
We love our Popup camper and actually got it around the same time you got yours. Only negative we've run into is that some campgrounds have become really snooty about allow popups.
Thinking about a truck bed camper. Severe limitations when dealing with capaciy (which we view as a plus) and floorspace I'm some cases. However, the convenience far than makes up for that.
Quick question, the one thing stopping my wife and I from getting a pop up is we take our dog everywhere. However, there are many times when we want to go somewhere when we are camping that dogs can’t go. So the question is, can a dog stay in a pop up safely with the air conditioning on?
Tent trailers cause less arguments than a divorce tent, they tow and park easy. Had one for a few years they’re a lot of fun in a for a small amount of money.
I'm not sure where you live, but try to broaden you search area. You might have to travel a distance to get one. Check out different cities/states on Craigslist. My dad just happened to come upon a yard sale one day and there was our future camper. I'm also guessing that once Covid is a thing of the past that people that thought they would like camping are actually a little too "soft" and need a condo/house instead. Keep looking and never give up.
Thanks for watching everyone! What kind of Pop Up do you have?
I inherited my dads 1987 starcraft meteor in January and I'm feeling so much love and closure from him by rebuilding the roof and getting it ready for his birthday camping trip in June.
I got the realtor part, but lets don't destroy here by inviting the world, LOL
2003 Jayco. It's awesome!!
2003 Jayco Qwest
My fiancé and I got a 2016 Viking 1906St last winter. We spent 60 nights in it last summer and travelled all of Alberta. It’s so easy to tow. We get into a routine for set up a tear down. It totally did change our lives! And now we’re only planning on a travel trailer to go full time.

Time slips away doesnt it .
I just love this channel. It appeals to my interests and is full of positivity and common sense. God bless you Jack.
People that don’t camp are missing out on a lot. You don’t have to spend a ton of money to have a great vacation camping.
Best thing we ever did was get a popup , we're on #2 now and you hit the nail on the head with all the reasons why , more camping videos please .
We just bought a 2002 Colman Sea Pine. I'm so excited to take it out. Our first trip with it is in April 9th.
We bought our pop up 2 1/2 years ago. Coleman/Fleetwood Utah. It’s actually how I found you on RUclips. Love the pop up and love the vids. Thanks brother!

the "feet " at the end in the storage box had me LOL for real!

I agree with you on that, money comes and goes but memories is the most important thing.

Awesome message 🙏 memories are what it’s all about !!
I have a Forest River palomino public camper and I've had it for 2 years and I love it.
The smell of the mild mold was the smell of adventure: said no healthy lung ever! Great video Yak I've been on the fence a while but I gotta pull the trigger and get one now. Thanks

I love the interior! Sometimes just changing the dark upholstery makes a huge difference.
I love the smell of napalm in the.. wait it’s just a moldy pop up camper!
Hi! Just found you. Our first two, and we’ve only two, have been Jaycos and love them. Our popup now is a 2015, so a little easier because we have electric now. I enjoyed your video with y’all camping at Navarre where your lot was right at the beach. I like making walking taco’s too.
Most of us RV folks started out with a used pop up. Great & cheap way to see if you enjoy the lifestyle. Mine was a moldy oldie Coleman. Great times!
living in Florida is a dream that I hold vary close to my heart!
Awesome video as usual Capt. Motley. My wife and I enjoy watching yours and Samantha’s adventures. Please keep it up
You are in my back door folks, wish I could pull one with my Kia Van.....love these
The answer is, YES!
The wife and I are now empty nesters (except for the 18 year old dog and 19 year old cat) and have been discussing getting a camper. I love your camper rebuild!!! Best videos ever on this subject
I want what you said. The weekend trips. Hoping it'll be cheaper than flying, hotels... Worry about the storage.
3 years ago I bought a Jayco Qwest 10 camper 2002 I only use it once a week when I go on vacation but I'm glad I have it
Still young at 73, I have just begun to "get out there" with a pickup truck tent.. While I might gravitate to a pop-up or small cargo trailer, it definitely won't be an RV, the giant hole on the ground where you throw your money....!! Living here by Lake Mead, NV is 'Da Bomb'...!
I'm thinking about getting one of those High Wall series. They are so cool! Pricey, but cool!

Also excellent trout fishing!
Love the videos! Your helping make my decision 😊
We absolutely love our pop-up camper and its versatility, this is not the first one that we’ve ever owned we have owned two before this one.
I wish I was in your platoon, I served 27yrs in Australian military. I would like to have served with you. Thank you for your ideas on popup campers
Thank you Richard!
Should I buy a pop up camper...yes I should! I need to know the song at the end too please...
Have had a pop up for a couple years now, I love it, I'm off grid where I take it. Has been a great time. I had to rebuild mine, nut it was fairly easy. Cost me more in beer than materials.
Have had five different popups! Can be an easy fixitup project. Cheapest one I got was $70, fixed it up, used it a few years and sold it for $500.
I bought a Palomino Mustang back in July 2021. I've been getting it ready for Halloween weekend at the Texas Ren fest. I love your videos man, keep up the great work! Prayers for you and your dad as well.
Thank you so much
Agree with two points. First is a kayak. Love both of mine. Second, never had a popup, but i did build a little teardrop. It served like your popup.
I would totally consider one, if I didn’t live in bear country!!! 🐻😳. These look fun, lightweight, easy to handle, and pretty affordable! But I definitely would opt for the “bathroom”! LOL. We have a 2018 coachman clipper that I pull with a 2008 Jeep Wrangler JK and have not had any problems towing
I was on the fence about a pop-up... I'm doin it.
I’ve trashed 2 pop ups and have a 34ft camper now, but dang, you make me want a pop-up again......LOL
I still want to live around the block from y’all!! You make NP look like THE Place to live!
I love mine! More camping videos please!
Yak, if I ever get to a place where it's time to move back to FL, you are #1 on my contacts.
I wish I had known about kayaking when I lived in Gulf Breeze and Navarre, but at least we had snorkeling.
make more p'cola beach lifestyle vids
Have had one for 16 years lot of memories my daughters first b'day on the beach in popup
He’s 💯 percent correct
Hi Yak. I am a carer, so I need to get away every couple of weeks. But caravans are sooooo expensive. This seems like the ideal way to go! I was just wondering how they go in the rain? Thanks for the video mate.

Hey Jack! Awesome video. Just in time as we're getting ready to renovate the RV we just bought haha!
Awesome! Have fun with it!
We looked for one last year, couldn’t find one for any good price that was in decent shape, ended up getting a Hybrid. Shamrock 233s, it is incredible
Thanks for the video.
Buying a 2019 this weekend. Wife said last year no more tent camping.
Thinking about a truck bed camper. Severe limitations when dealing with capaciy (which we view as a plus) and floorspace I'm some cases. However, the convenience far than makes up for that.
love the doggy clips.
Watched all you pop up vids.... Awsm is all I have to say, thanks.... Mike t.
You didn't mention the hurricane/power outage/wedding functionality. Great video!!
I like this video, but guys the best Yak Motley video is when they cook the snake, check it out!
I like that song, do you have the name of song and band? Thanks for the video!
Thanks! Not sure.

Good video. 👍🏻 God bless and have a good weekend. 😎
Tent trailers cause less arguments than a divorce tent, they tow and park easy. Had one for a few years they’re a lot of fun in a for a small amount of money.
I'm convinced!
You ever going to do more kayak fishing videos?
Florida has some serious bad weather, hurricane city. Maybe winter will be better.
Time flies. It's been three years since you made that video?
Your message was articulate and obviously heartfelt. Message received. RLTW
Been looking for one for a year. They are definitely hard to come by.
I'm not sure where you live, but try to broaden you search area. You might have to travel a distance to get one. Check out different cities/states on Craigslist. Same here been looking for more than a year and before the pandemic. Very hard to come by
I was gonna say you should be a salesman, then I heard you say you were a realtor as I was typing! Lol does the AC make much of a difference?
There aren’t many for sale these days. I stalk fb marketplace daily for one
Yep been looking for years. They are hard to come by
Love it great video!!!
Fine, you convinced me 😁
Are you guys still using your pop up or have you upgraded, downgraded or just stopped using it?
Why not put the pop up on the baby barge?
Could be double the fun 😁
Perfect video !!!!!
Really !!!!
Go Braves!
Cool!
LOVE!
I love no tech getaways
Go Braves
Pop up campers are very hard to come by.
Where do your kids fit into your tacoma?
