This video just sealed the deal! I've been stalking popups online for months. I've always wanted to be a camper but I HATE sleeping in a tent. I looked up renting a popup and it literally costs the same to buy a used one vs. renting one. We are in MN and can drive a couple of hours for a weekend trip. So pumped!
Hi want to thank you for your popup camping videos. Im 60 years olds an bought my first pop up camper last month after watching your videos . My wife an I have camped twice this month in Saint Augustine. We love it!And it's all because of you. Thanks
Captain Jack - PappyDC1 here. We are HERE at the wonderful "Hideaway" campground in Navarre. Wife and I paddling our kayaks all over the Santa Rosa Sound. (Ok- maybe just 1/2 mile back and forth in front of the campground) Throwing all kinds of plastic for speckled trout but am told it's too late and the fish are not back here in the bays. Anyway, saw some dolphins or porpoises - they swam near our kayaks - glad they weren't sharks! (they weren't sharks - right?) We are from Indiana - everything "could be" a shark! Met a guy on fishing on the gulf side of Navarre Beach. Said he was having lunch with you tomorrow (Dec 8) His youtube channel is FishOutLoud..... Out here...Pappy
Last year I got a 12’ Viking and we have a lots of memories in just 1 summer, this year more adventures is on the way for sure . I love people like you guys , just enjoy the life without spend a lots of money, we are in the same way. Thanks for the video.
We love our Jayco 1207. It's surprisingly spacious. We used to tent camp and find this setup and storage so much easier and better. Plus I sleep better. We bought a 6" foam mattress to upgrade. Had to use an electric kitchen knife to cut it to size. I take sugar and half and half in my coffee. It's real dairy milk! Can't leave it out. "Creamer" is synthetic. So nice that you live close to beautiful scenic places. If you like being out in nature - buy that pop-up! Can usually find them pretty cheap on marketplace.
I love this video because the pop-up is how I found your channel… I was searching for information on tips when buying a pop-up camper..... And now I get to see all the different parts of your life that you share here, it’s awesome!!!
Now that's what I'm talkin about! As long as I have A/C and a grill outside, I'm good. Enjoy moments. We haven't missed a beat with our water life here in NC. Who ever came up with that taco in a bag idea is a freakin Genius! Might do that tomorrow. I wish you, Jack and Samantha the best with those wedding plans! Glad you linked those other videos to this one. As always, thanks for sharing your thoughts and your adventure with us!
Thank you!! I love your message and really needed to hear it. I had to buy a new car, so ensured that I looked for good towing capacity. Next is to get the hitch and the camper. Pop ups have been the top of my list.
Ive been popup camper camping since 2000, its great changed out to a high wall Rockwell, it's luxury popup worth the money. Love the way you can open up the camper and feel like youre in nature. Its great
I showed this video to my fiancée who I have been trying to convince to get a UK version (which are slightly different) of a pop-up camper for months, and this is the only thing that’s finally made her agree! We have been camping in tents all of our lives, but I’ve had enough of sleeping on the floor and wanted to switch things up. Trouble is we both HATE caravans. The UK types are all timber made big white boxes with about as much appeal as a wet lettuce… I’ve been thinking for ages that a fold-out camper would be a great alternative for us, but trying to convince Lucy that a 20 year old trailer is the way forward has been an absolute no go. I showed her this video on Sunday and it was like the penny FINALLY dropped! She could see what you can do to re-decorate and clean them up, now long story short our first ever fold-out camper is coming home tomorrow! We’ve spent what would have been our honeymoon money on this because we were also meant to get married last weekend and couldn’t - feeling for you Yak! Thank you Yak for getting through to Lucy where I couldn’t. We love your videos on the camper and how you did yours up, it’s inspired us to throw caution to the wind and have fun with our new project!P.S. - Absolutely love the walking-nacho’s ideas! Right on the top of my to-do list when we’re able to take the camper out on her maiden voyage.
We went from tent camping, to pop up, to travel trailer. Kids grew up, we sold travel trailer, moved to Florida and started over. Tent camping didn’t last, so back to a pop up! Refurbished it using some of your ideas and are loving the “adventures” again! Keep up the vids Yak!
Navarre is terrible, there’s no reason anyone should ever go there. If someone wants a real Florida beach experience, then they need to go to Daytona. They should definitely not go to Navarre or the Gulf Islands National Seashore. Ever.
Mentioned this video to my wife who was looking for beach trip ideas. Just got back from 4 days in Navarre. Wife and kids loved it. Pretty laid back compared to Fort Walton and Destin. Navarre should add you to their tourism campaign!
Dude we have had 2 different pop ups with our kids growing up for 20 years ! 3 years ago moved up to a 23 ft Rockwood Roo hybrid still have the canvas but a full bathroom microwave 8 cubic ft ref with a freezer that MAKES ICE ! AC Heated mattresses, 23ft weights 6800lbs our daughter just bought a 19 ft rockwood all the bells no slide weights 4500lbs ! Love the beach video If you get ready to upgrade a Hybrid is the way to go !!!
Great video! We absolutely love our pop up camper, this will be our third summer with it. We just got back from a grand adventure "social distancing" on a lake in TN and at 2 spots in FL. So much better than a hotel room with 4 kids. 😳 Making great memories. 💗
I come from a family that has ‘gone camping’ for generations. From tarps to tents to popups to RVs. When sitting around the campfire, someone always asks “I wonder what the poor folks are doing?” Camping makes you richer.
Best time EVER!!! I wish I could share pics here. The big expense trailer we had was a different experience then the pop up by far. This kind of camping makes us have to rely on each other more and brought us closer together as a family.
@@jeffyoung9747 Awesome. I'm glad you guys had a great time. We just got back from a week long beach vacation for the first time in our pop up and it was a great experience. We learned a lot.
We have some of our best memories in our Pop-up. Nothing is a wonderful as the sound of raindrops on the canvas. We have moved up to a 5th wheel and have talked about going back to a pop-up
This was a really good video, Yak. I really liked the tone of it. Your camper looks like one of the tents from 1001 Arabian Nights on the inside after you guys re-did it. Sorry you and Sam couldn't get hitched this weekend, but the only thing you're missing is a piece of paper at this point. You're living good - keep being awesome.
Hello..and thanks for your videos. They have given me the idea of what I need to relax and how to achieve it on a budget. Your lenses allowed me to see a world I knew nothing about and for that I thank you. I bought me a 2007 Dutchman Pop up camper for $350 and now remodeling it!
Darn it, Yak, now I want one! I borrowed my neighbor's old Palomino popup camper back in 1998. Had to get a hitch installed on my 1991 Olds Ciera to pull it, and it did a good job of pulling the camper without any big mishaps. I had two small sons at the time and we pulled it to the Badlands of South Dakota the first day. It was really hot there, but it was an adventure. Will never forget the thrill of camping where there were rattlesnakes to look out for. It all added to the memories we came home with.
70 years old and have did much camping in our days and over the past 6 years have ventured to Newfoundland to Alaskas and the the great west in our converted 2014 Tradesman Van with great success but thinking about being a bit more stationary and considering a pop up for the future. Thanks for the look at your great family time.
I see a lot of you tubes on pop up remodels but I like your approach. Some remodel just to have a channel and followers but you do it to document your experience with your family and actually use the pop up . Thanks for your channel
My best family purchase was our boat. The whole family loves it. If I want to go fishing with the guys in it I have to sneak out before the family wakes up.
We had a beat up pop up trailer...upgraded too a new pop up with air conditioning. When we retired we bought a travel trailer, then a larger travel trailer. We have been on many expensive vacations and cruises, but camping beats them all. Freedom & the pup can come along!
We bought a 1985 sunlight pop-up with our wedding gift money for 600 bucks. Best 600 I've ever spent. The canvas needs replacing bad after all these years but I keep patching it with gorilla tape. Thanks for sharing y'alls adventures with us. Peace!
Hi, I really love your popup, I have a 13 year old daughter and we have been tent camping for 13 year with my husband and now husband LOL. Ready for a popup will be getting one next summer. Will continue to watch you, keep enjoying life.
Best video ever! Wife and I are looking for one for next year up here in Nova Scotia! Pro tip: make sure you double check the canvas where the bed meets it at the end of the camper where the hitch is. As a child I fell out of the bed and missed the hitch by inches!
I’m a desert dweller. Our available water is a couple hours away. But my wife and I just retired. We’re both disabled but we also both just got kayaks. A pop up might be what we need!
I just put a deposit on my first camper and I'm so excited! I've put off camping alone for so many years, and I'm finally doing it. Driving 825 miles to Mississippi from Texas to go get it and even had to buy a new car to tow it! I'm hoping to use it while squirrel hunting too!
I binge watched your popup camper playlist just because I stumbled across it. My husband and I have a pop up and we bought last year, redid it, and went camping once. We have a trip planned for the Fourth and just watching these videos makes me want to book more camping vacations!! Thank y’all for sharing!
Glad your area is no longer in lock down. Here in California we're still locked down, somethings are opening up, but most are still closed including state and national campgrounds. We bought a class C motorhome and we still have not used it.
Only in Florida are people talking about an overnight low of 80 not being too hot while dressed like it is in the 40s! Y’all have me a laugh! Nice pop up.
I just bought my first RV! it's definitely going to change my life traveling around and fishing. I totally agree with you on the trade money for experiences!
The best investment I've ever made was in a camper, the memories and experiences are unexplainable. You just can't fully understand until you take your camper out with friends and family. There is no explaining that can do it justice!
I love camping and love campers. But this sentence, and u can insert anyone’s hobby into it, shows insecurity and people trying to convince themselves more than others. That’s why salesman say the same phrase. Ha ha. Again, I love camping any way possible. But there are lots of things in life that speak for themselves without convincing salesman phrases ha ah
We have a 32ft camper that we have to leave at the lake because its a pain in the ass to haul. I finally convinced my hubby to buy a pop up this year and wow its been amazing just going where we want. Debating on selling the big camper now!
I have learned alot with my pop up it's a Coleman Bayport got it about a year ago in a auto Auction in Atlanta I am not going to reveal price because it will make people sick it was in incredible shape outside and even better inside it was bumped in the rear and bent crank handle it was loaded with everything inside love yalls camping content
I'm wanting to purchase a pop up camper and your video has encouraged me. I love how you tried to capture the feel of the experience. Exactly what I want for my family. Ty for video.
How am I just now finding this channel?? My husband and I have 2 RVs waiting for the day our youngest gdaughter graduates and then we r hitting the road full time. My husband has already been using the smallest one and a van he outfitted to travel nurse!! What a wonderful channel! You reminded me of some dreams I had put up on a shelf...time to dust them off, and make memories happen!!
Wow!! Saw this video while we were in the throws of deciding to buy a camper similar to yours (but only one pull out bed, it’s only me and my hubby). This was just what I needed to get me out of my comfort zone. Seeing and hearing your enthusiasm for camping has given me the confidence and confirmation I needed to just do it! You’re spot on about money verses experiences, and the walking tacos were great fun too. Life is meant for living, and you are an excellent example of that. Cheers from Australia.
He definitely pushed me over the edge and we purchased our first popup camper. Renovating it has been an awesome experience and the kids are excited for our first trip next weekend. Hope you found a good one.
Nice channel guys. Just picked up a Coleman Taos for cheap and good shape. We are in the Jacksonville/ St.Augustine area. Many easy nearby destinations. Take care and thanks for the videos!
Hey you guys have been an inspiration when it comes to pop up camping and renovations. We got a lot of ideas for your channel and applied it to our old but new to us Starcraft pop up. Maiden voyage is next weekend and we are super excited. 9 day trip here we come.
I love you and Sam's videos. You really do a great job of pointing out the great things in life and have a become an inspiration for my wife and I to just sit back and enjoy the same things. Thank you, it has really meant a lot to us.
We always have Walking Tacos our first night. Easy meal that I can prep before we leave home and have ready when the kiddos start staying their hungry. Another great video, thanks for sharing! -Mrs.Hunter
I’d have to say looks Like a lot of fun. My suggestion is tell your friends to bring their own camper or tent. Unless we r sharing everything inside that camper, get your own place.
love it......PBR.....Walking taco (thx for the Recipe).....PBR.......pop up info........PBR..... this Milwaukee born (home of PBR) old guy, turned 71 this week, is seriously considering a small pop up , would like to be able to travel with my Topwater 120 PDL on the top of it......not retired, work at an essential Printing co. here in DFW......
Great video, great time!!!! We pull the trailer and I have the yak on top of the truck! Wanting to make it up and over your way soon.. Enjoy that camper and life!!! That is what we have always done!!! Thanks for sharing w us!!! W
Reminds me of days my 4 sons were younger and we went everywhere in a Starcraft 12 foot pop up camper about 20 years ago. We actually hauled it to Florida keys one summer and stayed at Bahia Honda state park. You got to take your camp there sometime worth the ride
Great video capturing the popup camper life...It's now on my list of things to get in addition to moving to Florida at some point in my life! Thanks for capturing the camping life so well! Oh and I forgot to mention...Samantha did an outstanding job on the interior...It really makes it feel like a place you want to be in. Great design!
New sub! We just bought our 2008 Fleetwood Cheyenne and ofcorse my wife is in the processes of changing all the decor. Hope to get it out ASAP, just waiting for the parks to reopen. Hope you folks are staying safe there and can't wait for the next vid!
Great video. We started out tent camping, then bought a pop up. Then upgraded to a small travel trailer. Your right, camping is awesome. Were trying to go to our local lake next weekend. Kayaks and all. Best wishes to you and Sam in yalls future together!!!
Nice! My wife and I have been talking about getting a pop up and I think think year we will be buying one. We’re from NYC and live in an apartment with no yard. We love camping and a pop up would be great. Subscribed to your channel.
Bill Gates and The Rockefellers may be extremely wealthy, but I view people that can just live life like this as unbelievably rich. It’s some of the most simple things that you can do to get some of life’s most enjoyable moments and the memories made will carry with them to the grave. Some of us could only wish to be so fortunate. Thanks for sharing y’all.
Weather is still unpredictable up here in N/E Wisconsin. Can't wait to hit the road in our pop-up! When did you paint the galley-kitchen blue? Last I saw, you guys had those stick on tiles and used a spray on coating on the counter. Looks good!
I've own a travel trailer then sold it and bought a popup trailer. I liked the popup much better because it felt so much more open when camping and when it got to hot I would use the roof top air conditioner plus it is so easy to park.
Haha we do walking tacos everytime we go camping. You passed right by our favorite spot at begginingbof video. Santa rosa rv park, we will actually be there in 3 weeks
I have owned a couple campers. And it is great to get out. Been thinking about getting another one. Life is short enjoy it. You two are awesome. Thanks for the video.
So pumped!
people that value life more than money. perfect.
I totally agree. It’s not the money hat counts. It’s about getting out the house and creating memories that your family will remember forever.
Just bought a 1994 Jayco (usually tent camp) for 300 dollars and I can’t wait to use it! Currently cleaning it.

We love our Jayco 1207. It's surprisingly spacious. We used to tent camp and find this setup and storage so much easier and better. Plus I sleep better. We bought a 6" foam mattress to upgrade. So nice that you live close to beautiful scenic places. If you like being out in nature - buy that pop-up! Can usually find them pretty cheap on marketplace.
I love that you guys are appreciating what you have, to the utmost. That is the way to enjoy life, my friends.
You know how to make life good. Money doesn’t always give joy!!! Keep smiling!!!!

After the new year we’re getting our first pop up! I cannot even wait! After tent camping, the kiddos wanted more!! So a pop up it will be. ❤

You’re spot on about money verses experiences, and the walking tacos were great fun too. Life is meant for living, and you are an excellent example of that. Cheers from Australia.
Bet it smelled wonderful in that camper after those “walking tacos”
Can't get enough of this video, just can't wait til I get one, want to live that pop up lifestyle.
I've been shopping around for awhile now and stalling on purchase but I think you helped with my decision. Thanks for sharing. Happy camping !

Really Enjoyed the freshness and "as we are" aspect. Go get Life!

Like a lot of fun. My suggestion is tell your friends to bring their own camper or tent. Unless we r sharing everything inside that camper, get your own place.

Love our popup (2001 Coleman Cheyenne)!! We are headed to Tomoka State Park next month for some weekend getaway!!!
A place to sleep and prepare meals is all I really need
Yep. Pop up is just a temporary stop between adventurous days of fun.
Reminds me of days my 4 sons were younger and we went everywhere in a Starcraft 12 foot pop up camper about 20 years ago. We actually hauled it to Florida keys one summer and stayed at Bahia Honda state park. You got to take your camp there sometime worth the ride
Best memories in my first pop up, also called stinky camper, moved on to new ones, love the memories.
after climing the upsizing ladder, now I want a popup again. thanks for the push, GO TIGERS.
We just bought this exact model '06 Jayco model 1007. Good to see your updates!

Great video. We started out tent camping, then bought a pop up. Then upgraded to a small travel trailer. Your right, camping is awesome. Were trying to go to our local lake next weekend. Kayaks and all. Best wishes to you and Sam in yalls future together!!!
Awesome...I grew up w a camper like that and traveled throughout the US and Canada!! Great video..I felt the vibe Jack!!!
Looks good!
The camping vibe is everything!!! You are creating such good family memories!!! Love this video....🤗😁☀️🏕🚣
Santa rosa rv park, we will actually be there in 3 weeks
...HAVE to try your "walking taco"... GREAT camping idea...😃😷👣

Less is MORE! Keeping things simple rocks. It's the ''little things'' in life that make it worth living. Thanks for providing the video evidence.
