Venus is so underrated because people think of the dub version of her and forget she’s the second in command and the most powerful of the inner senshi and she’s hilarious in the Japanese version lol ❤
I'd highly recommend Princess Tutu it's another magical girl anime but all of the fight scenes are portrayed through ballet it also takes inspiration from a lot of old fairy tales. It's beautiful, a little tragic and definitely one of my favorites.
Princess Tutu is absolutely amazing. Also for magical girl, Madoka Magica is also a must watch, IMO.

I first watched this show back in 1998, first, the DIC American dub then moved to the original Japanese series. I LOVE Sailor Moon -- the characters, the animation, the storyline, the villains, the music, EVERYTHING!! It's a show I've held to my heart going on 23 years now and it's now showing any signs of dissipating anytime soon. Right now I'm currently re-watching the first season and loving every minute of it! I think my favorite season is the third one--Sailor Moon S!

Hahaha, it threw me off a bit when you said Sailor Jupiter is your least favorite but when you shown her (the fans) choking Mamo (you) I was laughing at how hilarious the self awareness was, myself being a huge Jupiter fan. You have a very good sense of humor and an engaging video :)

Love this video so much. My top two suggestions for anime are:
Mushishi an episodic series with a character meeting people affected by different mushi. The episodes range from unsettling to heart breaking, but consistently the animation is beautiful and the music is on point.
The second is Death Parade, a series about people going to a midpoint after dying and being forced to play bar games to be judged if they are worthy of reincarnation. Again, beautiful animation, and many episodes that will make you cry.
got to this channel via the Into the Woods video (from Sideways, haha) and I was SO happy to see the latest one was of my favourite show. LOVE me some Sailor Moon appreciation. ESPECIALLY love the appreciation for the transformation sequences! no joke, they're one of my favourite parts of the show. (also, moon princess halation is the best attack. love the little musical sting that happens as its starting up)
also, if you're up for a real sad time, I just finished Iron Blooded Orphans recently and it messed me up. OR if you're looking for more good classic shoujo, Escaflowne is similarly a very pretty show with some, in my opinion, very good music.

This is what the manga and Crystal, Eternal meant by and this is something that Sailor Moon have to choose in the final arc of the manga. The quote of Serenity thing that happen during all five arcs of the manga and Crystal and Eternal accept the things I cannot change: when Usagi and Mamoru arrive at the restore Moon Kingdom after defeating Metalia Luna tells her that she's now the new queen of the resurrected Moon Kingdom, but Usagi denies, saying that she would rather stay with her loved ones back on Earth, where she now belonged and she realize that she cant's bring back the way they were of what happen 1,000 of years. Have the courage to change the things I can: Sailor Moon and her friends realize that it's too late to bring back does how already blessed their loyalty to your evil lord and master like Beryl, Demande, Dr. Tomoe, and Sailor Galaxia but they can at least stop there lord and master from destroying the world. And have the wisdom to know the difference. This is were Sailor Moon have make a choose of what you said destroy the Cauldron or let the war continue and she chooses neither she choose her own path and sacrifices herself once again is a major act that could save everything even if alters thing the risk seen worth it Sailor Moon now has the wisdom to know the difference accepting what she can't change and changing what she can.
This is something I through of imagine when I watch Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox and Justice League Dark Apokolips War what if Sailor Moon Crystal and Eternal is not just reboot but a new timeline is like I'm watching the DC Animated Movie Universe new 52 with Justice League: War through Justice League Dark: Apokolips War that is like Sailor Moon is just a reboot it like a new timeline so did something happen to original sailor moon timeline like Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox I love that movie so much it like imaging watching a fourth Sailor Moon movie or something that takes place after Stars that it focus on Sailor Jupiter story starts when Makoto Mother say to her "Makoto when I was I little girl grandma taught me a prayer accept the things I cannot change; Have the courage to change the things I can; and have the wisdom to know the difference." then this happens Jupiter goes back in time some how in order to prevent her parents death because she misses then when she wake up her parents are alive but then everything change creating a alternate timeline were Usagi was never been born Luna and Artemis were never awakened Uranus and Neptune had an affair that trigger a war because Haruka kill Mamoru because Michiru betray her by falling in love with him that both seek vengeance on each other cause a war , Mercury becomes a Cyborg and works for the government, Pluto became a lab experiment that left her cripple, Mars is not Rei and instead is her Mother, Nina is Sailor V but not awakend as a Sailor Venus and she die in a explosion attack and Saturn is use as bomb that will destroy everyone and Jupiter must go back in time and fix this then she encounter someone how has the same powers as Jupiter that prevent her from going back in time and tell Jupiter that you are responsible for this alternate timeline then Mars kill her so that Jupiter can back to her in time and stops her earlier self but again fractures time, creating another alternate new timeline called crystal and eternal Mako visits Rei to tell her about everything that occurred. Mako gives Rei the letter from her Mother, Rei cries and thanks her. Mako then leave In a post-credits scene at D Point inside the Dark Kingdom we see Queen Metalia begin laughing .
When I watch Justice League Dark: Apokolips War I it remain me of Sailor Moon Stars of the manga Darkseid remains me of Chaos were he began all out war ever sense Justice League War, Darksaid then unleashed the Paradooms to killed or placed some of the Justice League into Darkseid's slavery which Chaos use Galaxia and her minions to kill the Sailor Moon friend Chaos use the Sailor Guardians and Tuxedo Mask Star Seeds to turn against Sailor Moon is just just like when Darkseid brainwash some of the Justice League to attack them Flash said to the League after Superman said we to destroy Darkseid once and for all to end the war "that means earth could be ground zero in world war, look I know some of you don't believe the visions I have about the Flashpoint but a truly global war means death and destruction on a scale you cannot imagine everyone on the planet is at risk everyone we care about" which Sailor Moon said the Silver Crystal causing war in order to end the war she have to die and when Constantine convinces Flash to create a second Flashpoint, after knowing he created the first while freeing him, to undo Darkseid's work despite knowing the world will not be the same as it was before and this were Sailor Moon have to choose and she choose sacrifice herself inside the Cauldron and then Guardian Cosmos the small but powerful guardian of the Cosmos Crystal, resided within the Galaxy Cauldron saw Usagi in the Cauldron, she was surprised that Usagi and her friends could retain their physical forms within the Cauldron. She asked Usagi if she had come to the Cauldron to throw her life into it and start a new star's history, or if she wanted to live as she was. Given the choice, Usagi said that she wanted to live her life as she was, no matter how difficult it might be, to build a future together. Guardian Cosmos granted their wish, and as they were being pulled away, Usagi asked about Chaos. Guardian Cosmos told them that Guardian Chaos and the Chaos Seed had been dissolved into the Cauldron, but could be born again. 12:52 in Sailor Moon S, Usagi is the only guardian to become super (Sailor Moon Super). In SuperS all the other guardians become super. I chuckle when people say Super-S instead of Supers. I’d love to see a video of you covering SuperS and Sailor Stars.

About the seasons' names: SuperS means that there are now more than one Super Sailor Senshi (so it's plural). Sailor Moon R actually doesn't have a definite meaning, everyone can decide for themselves what it means. (Seriously, this is said in an official book. xD)

Venus and Mercury are also my favorites Sailor scouts, i like Mars too she's so cool especially her fire Phoenix :D Her fire Tiger is amazing as well and i like her small fire mandalas, very pretty!
There's a lot of fillers in this anime BUT unlike in Crystal were they aren't useful, cute or interresting; here they developped more the characters and are so funny. I never wanted to skip one, they are THAT good!

I may or may not have teared up at the recap of the emotional arcs this show goes through,,, nostalgia is strong gotta rewatch it again. Also, the last bit about learning to love anime again is very sweet imo. I had the same falling off anime due to cringe at my old self (and my art being forever branded as such lol) but after I started studying Japan studies and saw the genuine unfiltered joy of my new friends when they talked about anime, I realized how stupid it was to deny myself such enjoyment for no reason. Like a villain remembering his childhood joy and relinquishing to the power of friendship lmao
Anyway, Anime recs, have only seen the twilight Princess video so far so idk if these are too obvious but. Sk8 the infinity is a recent hit that I'm... Rewatching for the second time in two months rn. Just very pretty, very sweet. Mob psycho 100 (also recently rewatched back to back bc holy shit), jujutsu kaisen, JoJo's bizarre adventure, they're all big names ik but those all kind of stand out for one reason or another to me. Also PROMARE the movie, is just. Visually and musically stunning (and I'd be lying if the subtext romance wasn't a main selling point for me) . I realize this is very shonen heavy,,, so to contrast, my best friend loves magical girls and she adores revolutionary girl utena. Now in the spirit of not cringing at your passions I won't give in to the urge to scrap the comment altogether for Anime Crimes lmao worst case it'll be an algorithm boost ✌️

You should try to do a video analysing the upgrades systems from different games, I think that it's a really overlooked mechanic on games, and I think you would make an excellent job, either way, your content is great, feels weird that such a quality content creator has very few subscribers.

Sailor Moon was my first anime in the 90s and I loved it a lot. I still love it and hold it dear to my heart. I'm not a hardcore fan and now being almost 30, I no longer get that invested in it. But it gives me a beautiful feeling of nostalgia.

Okay so underrated show I think is adorable that is in the magical girl category is Inari Kon Kon Koi Iroha. It never really picked up a big audience (bc it was more slice of life mixed with fantasy instead of turning into an alter ego), but it’s very good!

Anime recommendation? Princess Tutu is an underrated classic.
Having finally started watching Sailor Moon last year and really enjoying it made me find this video and it was awesome, well done! Despite knowing about Sailor Moon since childhood when it was already very successful in my region during the late 90s-early 2000s, I didn't get too far beyond a few random episodes on TV as a kid and the Eternal movies when they first came to Netflix (which were quite enjoyable but also a bit confusing due to a general lack of context lol) because of the stigma that it was apparently "a show for girls" (even though I did watch some PPG on CN back then). The Guardians' character designs always caught my attention though, especially Venus and Jupiter.
Then I found out that some cable channel was randomly airing the first season last year (in my native language's dub, being the Latin American Spanish one) and I was like "ok then, I'll finally give it a shot". And fairly quickly, I got to understand why Sailor Moon is such a beloved classic liked by many, and your video really explains it very well. Been gradually catching up with the OG show ever since and I should eventually get to the reboot sometime later. And my initial liking to their designs (such as their hairstyles and colors) really meant something more once I got the know them because Venus and Jupiter did become my favorites, especially Venus (you hit the bullseye when talking about Mina and explaining why you love her so much, totally agree on what you said). Bummer that you didn't care for Mako very much, but at least we do share the same top favorite. So yeah, keep up the good work!
Buddy I'm with you. I binged all of Sailor Moon last year plus the movies and the Dic dub episodes and a couple of episodes of Crystal and 3 volumes of the manga once sailor Moon sucks you in, you can't escape. I might check out Card Captor for nostalgia. And yea Moon Prism Power is my favorite transformation theme. And check out Sailor Moon abridged on RUclips it's really funny it made want to check out the Dic seasons.

Maybe lol. It's cool to meet somebody on this Sailor Moon journey I don't usually do magical girl shows but SM always stuck with me it's weird but it's fun along the way. S, is my favorite season because of Uranus Neptune Pluto and Saturn. But Classic is pure nostalgia.

But in all seriousness, if you want a recommendation? STEINS;GATE is a great sci-fi series, with a terrifically written story that slowly builds into total epicness. Toradora is an amazing romcom with really great characters. And Trigun is an awesome western that suffered a bit financially during production, but is a super fun ride. My top three anime, and they are all 1 season long. Cheers mate
If you want an anime recommendation I CAN‘T STRESS ENOUGH to watch Mob Psycho 100 the animation is gorgeous and for 2 seasons consistently on the same level as a freaking ghibli movie (it‘s more leankng into visual comedy and great fight scenes woth that though), the characters are all incredibly likeable, it‘s full of wholesome and gripping moments and (in my opinion) great comedy. And at it‘s core it has a magnificently executed message about dealing with your emotions, empathy, relationships and improving yourself!
I don‘t watch a lot of anime anymore for a lot of reasons, but this show became on of my absolute favourites (if not THE favourite for me!)
It is important to know though
-that you won‘t get a typical shonen anjme with this one. A lot of ppl went in expecting this and were disappointed while watching because of that.
It might not be for everyone, but it‘s definetly worth checking out!^^

Great video! Glad you mentioned the style of the series. The whole ambience of it is just so romantic and elegant, but it kinda makes me miss older anime. Not that it disappeared or anything because that's what the Internet is for but the aesthetic of late 80's to 90's anime looked so much better to me. Everything now is bug eyed, shiny, which is fine for some shows but something about the older style looks better to me. Oh my bad, here are some recommendations if you haven't seen them already:

I haven't watched more than the first season of Sailor Moon Crystal, but those character based filler episodes were one of the things that was sorely missing and made it hard to keep watching. The audience doesn't get to know the previously introduced characters before they bring in the next. The original series really did excell in that regard.

LOOOOL that Super S bit is so true. Funnily though that season has my fav season finale of the series though... I started watching Sailor Moon last year and I am OBSESSED. It surpassed my expectations greatly. The first season is a magical experience, and S is just so amazing. It's too bad the filler and the "formula" gets SO SO tiring after S or even before, because it is so worthwhile to watch the entire series. Also Sailor Mars has the best character focused episodes and she hard carries the filler dont @ me. I also recommend watching the movies, the R movie is utterly fantastic. Also I'm sure you probably know this but the manga's story is very different to the classic anime (so the anime had to add a bunch of filler to avoid surpassing the manga and plot points were changed anyway). The manga was monthly so each arc (each anime season) is only around 14 chapters long lol. That's something the anime did better imo, with all its filler at least you have a chance to see the characters grow and interact.
P.S: PUT SAILOR MOON ETERNAL ON BLU-RAY ALREADY I WANNA SEE IT UGH.
NO THE MINAKO FILLER EPISODES ARE THE BEST. And I’ve seen the R movie which I really liked but not the rest. AND PLEASE PUT THE MOVIE OUT INTERNATIONALLY
Wasn’t expecting to watch this all-but, while I’ve been a bad fan for a while, this did perfectly capture what I loved about SM 25 years ago.

If you like Sailor Moon then I highly recommend watching Pretty Cure and giving it a chance. It’s another magical girl anime that has been going on for almost 20 years. Where every season they introduce a new cast and story. There are really good fight scenes and I mean really good. As well as excellent character development. The voice acting and OST is also great. Please give it a try. There are some seasons on Crunchy Roll.

Jupiter is underrated to me, I used to love her as a kid, maybe for shallow reasons because I was 5 and we both had brown hair and I was always a stubborn tomboy kid, so she was more relatable to me
But, my love for her hasn't stopped and she's always been for my favorite, even if it started with shallow 5 year old reasons

OH BOY ANIME RECOMMENDATIONS! Im a little late to the video but i have two anime recommendations that i absolutely love with all my heart. Made in abyss and the promised neverland season 1 (season 2 doesn't exist and i will explain that later) first made in abyss. THIS SHOW RIGHT HERE IS JUST MWAH chefs kiss. The the concept for the world is simple but yet so effective. The world building in this show is just so interesting and keeps hypnotizing you into being interested. The backgrounds and animation is just gorgeous and it never stays too long in one area except for one part but even then i didnt care because we saw more of the world. ALSO THE CHARACTERS ARE JUST SO LOVABLE AND GREAT WITH DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS AND MOTIVATIONS BUT WITH A HINT OF MYSTERY. This show can also get really dark especially near the end, but that was gonna happen due to how cruel the abyss is. Btw THIS IS JUST SEASON 1! IM NOT EVEN GONNA TALK ABOUT THE MOVIE. Ngl the movie actually broke me and i cannot praise it enough. Although i love made in abyss there are some iffy decisions between riko and reg relationship. Im not going to go to deep into it but it does bother me and thought i should mention it. Anyways watch made in abyss beautiful 10/10 loved it. This maybe an exaggeration but in my eyes The promised neverland s1 is a masterpiece. The pacing is just so brilliant and gets you invested. It wastes no time in introducing the tone in the first episode and gets you hooked. You care so quickly for the kids and it's so cool seeing how they try to play psychological games with the obstacles facing them. There are so many variables to consider but they never overwhelm you and when they do something smart you cant help but just go "YOOOOOOOOOOOO" also, without going i to spoilers, THE VILLAIN IS GENUINELY ONE OF THE BEST IVE SEEN IN MEDIA. They are so threatening and just a huge menace but have their motivations that line up so incredibly well. I could go on and on about the animation, voice acting, side characters, foreshadowing, etc. Etc. But please watch just watch tpn s1! DO NOT WATCH S2! season 2 was such a huge disappointment in so many ways. The first 2 episodes are actually pretty good and everything after is just garbage. Im an anime only watcher so i dont know what i missed from the manga but i have heard it was so much more painful for manga readers. I dont wanna get into why it's so bad,because im not in the mood and i don't wanna spoil. Just read the manga. I hope you end up watching made in abyss and the promised neverland s1 though and have just as an amazing time as i did! If you read this all thank you and i hope you have a good time with these two shows!
