    Aside from potentially more lore on the Endless, by far the thing that has me most excited about this book is Thel wanting to unify everyone. Damn near every conflict in Halo’s been caused by the Mantle and the consequences of giving one race absolute power. I’m excited to see if Thel’s plan leads to a complete rejection of the Mantle in favor of something better. Breaking the never-ending cycle of subjugation once and for all is the best way to conclude the saga, imo.

    The Infinity can't have destroyed the Guardian. Not only does that not marry up with the audio logs, but The Banished arrived at Zeta first and set up camp on Zeta. Either they or someone/something else had a means of bringing down the Guardian, otherwise The Banished would have never made landfall on Zeta.

      Having the Banished find this secret “weapon” on Netherop and using it on the Guardian at Zeta Halo would be really cool 🤔

    This has nothing to do with this banger video, but I love how the Endless OSTs are like a sort of inversion of Forerunner chants and sounds. Instead of soft “oo” sounds, it’s these sharper “aa” sounds.

    I don't know what to think of this Guardian-killing artefact. It smells really fishy, especially considering that by December 2559, Cortana was still very much in power. So either this artefact ended-up being destroyed or never existed in the first place.
    A third, but remote, possibility is that the UNSC/Swords learned to how to use it only after Cortana's death and use it to deactivate the Guardians. But is very unlikely. A fourth possibility is that the artefact ended up in the hands of the Banished, who during their attack on Zeta Halo used it to deactivate the Guardian stationed there, which would explain the crashed one we saw in Halo Infinite.

    9:17 In Halo Warfleet it says this about the Guardians: "Guardians and Preceptors monitored and fenced off the activity of lesser species within pocket empires. Though their connections to the Domain's overwatch network, the Guardians reflexively countered many threats to the Ecumene long before they rose to the attention of Warrior-Servant commanders" (88). It also says that their weapons were useful at fending off fleets of "primitive" ships but provided little resistance against Forerunner warships infected by the Flood. So it is likely that whatever this species was, they would likely only require technology that would be considered as a legitimate threat to minor Forerunner warships to be able to take out the Guardian. It doesn't even need to be anything mind-bogglingly advanced, it could be that they had weapons like the Covenant's spiky antimatter bombs that the Chief got out of Cairo station, except a lot more of them and they could fire them out of missiles or magnetic or gravitational launchers, which are coincidentally exactly what photon torpedoes in Star Trek are.

    My theories are:
    1. The Banished/Allies. They want revenge for Doisac.
    2. BB/Osman. BB infiltrated the Created to stop Cortana, is working with Osman and the Rossbach's world AIs and possibly remaining ONI personnel like Annabelle Richards.
    3. Surviving prophets. Excellent at manipulating elites still have loyal kaidons. Want revenge on the Arbiter.
    4. Gao/Nyeto/Outcasts/Arlo. Gao could some serious power if they could control a Guardian killer. Its thin i know.

    I had not even considered half of the things you brought up hear and now I'm even more exited for the book. I am however personally more inclined for the netherop aliens to be original/new as I feel that the Halo universe could benefit from having it's array of alien species broadened. Not gonna complain if it is the Xalanyn though.

      Halo has way too many story threads hanging or abandoned imo, so I feel it needs to be The Endless.

      @@elliotjohnson9415 that makes sense, though my mind is drawing a blank on any more than a couple loose threads. What abandon plot lines were you thinking of?

      @elliotjohnson9415 Год назад +1

      @@rohanthomas4134 I'm more talking 343's constant change of direction when I say abandoned, but there's many narrative threads that I feel have been neglected and need attention hopefully in the near future - The Created, the Guardians (slightly being addressed in this book, but no doubt just to drop a MacGuffin weapon to make the Guardians useless), the Prometheans, the Didact (the upcoming book will no doubt end his story), Chief's Librarian interaction in Halo 4 and the impact of that, the status of all Halo 4 and Halo 5 characters that are currently AWOL/whereabouts unclear, the status of the Infinity, all the Halo Wars related stuff... and there's more. It's kind of okay that this stuff is in limbo, it can't all be addressed at once, but my point is that 343 have a history of starting plots and dropping them/sidelining them, so I feel they just need to focus on the lore and narrative they've got right now.

    • @rohanthomas4134
      @rohanthomas4134 Год назад +3

      @@elliotjohnson9415 all of that makes sence. Back when 343 where pursuing there “ten year plan” for infinite, I figured they would have all the Time in the world to incorporate every loose thread into one big story. I have a Infinite are seemingly being abandoned, who knows. We can only hope.

      @@rohanthomas4134 I totally agree. I thought with Infinite originally being intended as a platform that we'd get DLCs bringing in these different story threads, different playable characters etc. It could have been really cool. A big shame, but I'm looking forward to Outcasts.

    I don't think people should be too surprised if the Banished shows up in this book in a big way. Afterall, we've already heard about how the Arbiter acknowledges Atriox and the Jiralhanae as a looming threat. This is furthermore the case with pretty much an undoubtable Banished presence on the world of Suban mentioned in the encyclopedia, where the Swords of Sangheilios are struggling to help local Keeps fight off these rival factions vying for control of the planet's resources (blamite crystals.) So the Banished trying to get more involved with Sangheili affairs on other Sangheili worlds, including Sangheilios, shouldn't be too surprising if it happens. Suban, specifically, already has two Subanese-based Banished groups at its core, being the Bloodbrave Guardians of Suban as well as the Warriors of Malaston that have their Keep on Malaston. The potential for them to be assisting the Banished with their efforts on Suban is most definitely there and ready to go.
    Other Keeps, mercenaries, dishonorable and outcasted individuals, or even respected groups with their own reasonings to work with the Banished all can definitely add up to become a serious situation for the Arbiter that will keep growing if not dealt with quickly. I wouldn't even be too shocked if Crei 'Ayomuu himself was hired by a Banished-aligned Keep to speak with the Arbiter about finding this Guardian-killing artifact on Netherop. It might seem counterintuitive at first until you realize that Oath Wardens can't be hired as outright assassins to kill rivals of another Keep and what not. What if Crei 'Ayomuu ultimately ends up going with the Arbiter and Vale to Netherop and some Banished forces actually follow them there in secret? That way, once they know the location of the artifact, the Banished forces that are brought to Netherop would be the ones that would kill the Arbiter (we know he's probably not going to die) instead of Crei 'Ayomuu himself.
    What I could see happening then if that happens is the Arbiter and whatever forces he brought with him would eventually stumble across Nizat Kvarosee and whatever he has left, and would have to work with him and even Petrov to try and fend off the Banished. Either way, we know that Crei 'Ayomuu must play a big role in the book since he's on the cover art and his pose doesn't seem particularly friendly or welcoming. I believe that something along the lines of this would be a great way to include the Banished in this plot and overall, building up that rivalry and conflict that can furthermore continue on other Sangheili worlds and ultimately, even Zeta Halo between them and the Swords of Sangheilios as heavily implied by the encyclopedia.

      I always look forward to your paragraphs long comments on these deep dive videos!
      If the Banished showed up I would be absolutely ecstatic. Either way, Halo is setting itself up for an amazing future that rich with chaos across the galaxy. Between the warring keeps of the Sangheili, the Prelate/San shyuum we know of in divine wind, the endless, the banished, and the UNSC, we are being set up for something amazing. I’d love to see all those factions meet up in a book like this

      Also, is it possible Atriox is the one who hired Crei?

    • @lethalterminus5018
      @lethalterminus5018 Год назад +1

      @@haloguy Hmm. I'm not sure if Atriox would've been the one to have hired Crei 'Ayomuu if it ends up being the case where the Banished hired him. I do think the Banished is quite large at this point. Larger than people often give them credit for, especially with the new additions of their presence seen on multiple worlds. And I think with that, a lot of the times, some of these things will actually come down to other Banished leaders of some kind, and I think in this case, it might be a Banished-aligned Keep or something of that nature that hired Crei but perhaps the general order for the occupancy and operations on Sangheili worlds came from Atriox, which would make sense since it'd be a tall task.
      What I would say is that while Atriox has certainly directly convinced Sangheili groups to come into his fold, more of the innerworkings that go into a task itself would be up to the Sangheili group in question. I think Atriox knows that the best chance to get a domino effect and having more Sangheili work for the Banished would be to allow these Sangheili groups he's convinced to utilize their connections and stances. There's certainly no shortage of outright mercenaries for hire, but mercenary work alone doesn't always cover all the bases. Having actual Keeps with some form of influence allows the Banished even more reach and control. Having someone like Crei working for the Banished would be a decent card for them to play, but the way I see it, having a Keep means that you have someone that can deal even more cards.

      Whoever the client is, I have a feeling that it’ll be an “end of book” type reveal and that it’ll be a name we recognize. I think the fact that they are trying not to reveal the client’s name is a foreshadowing that it’ll be revealed and we’ll recognize them
