My grandmother made this for me once and I never forgot it. She called them corn “dodgers.” It was something they ate in the early 20th century. She never made it again. It should be revived.
Hello, I really appreciate this video I have been looking for this dish for 30 yrs. I was with my cousins visiting a friend of theirs when we were teens
I gotta try this sometime! I bake corn dodgers to go with my greens but having the cornmeal dumplings looks like a good way to make a sop for some of that good pot likker.
It is a fantastic dish. My first mother in love introduced it to me. Love, love, love it!!!! Thanks for the comment, and sat hi to mother for me❤️. Blessed to still have mom. Like, share and subscribe 🥰
What is the name of the cookbook your husband bought you? I love collards and cornmeal dumplins. Never had dumplibs in turnip greens, just cornbread cup cakes. Yummy.
The first time I didn’t use an egg like if I was making hot water corn bread. But it was delicious. Enjoy!!!!! Subscribe!!!! And Happy New Year to you❤️

The correct name is hot water cornmeal dumplings. My grandmother made them too, so I’m very used to them. They’re not new.
Actually the recipe came from my mother in law. Thanks for your comment ❤️ And don’t believe I said they were new!!! If I did that was a mistake.
