    I gotta try this sometime! I bake corn dodgers to go with my greens but having the cornmeal dumplings looks like a good way to make a sop for some of that good pot likker.

    My grandmother made this for me once and I never forgot it. She called them corn “dodgers.” It was something they ate in the early 20th century. She never made it again. It should be revived.

    The correct name is hot water cornmeal dumplings. My grandmother made them too, so I’m very used to them. They’re not new.

    What is the name of the cookbook your husband bought you?
    I love collards and cornmeal dumplins. Never had dumplibs in turnip greens, just cornbread cup cakes. Yummy.
