@@ooaktree Actually, a tutorial sounds really fun to make, so I think I might actually do just that! Anything specific you wanna learn about or just generally how I move around these stock photos? lol
@@ooaktree Alright, bet! I'll make sure to cover all those if I do end up making the tutorial which I'm pretty sure I will cause that sounds like a blast! Just so you don't have to wait however many months though if I do end up making it, I'll try to answer you to the best of my abilities in this reply. -For cutting up the image like 0:30, what I did was find a picture of a slice of pumpkin pie that was showing it from that specific side view angle. I then opened it in photoshop and just isolated each specific part I wanted by using a mask, so that they were all separated from each other! There are a few issues with that though, namely, it'll just look really flat since the dollop of whipped cream covers quite a bit of the pumpkin pie filling itself, and the filling itself covers basically the entirety of the crust, so what I did was find like other images of pumpkin pie filling and (I guess you might call the floor of the) crust. I then stitched the image of the floor of the crust with the crust of the pumpkin pie image to make it look like it had like a little bit of depth and not just like 2d. Then with the top of the pumpkin pie slice, I did basically the same thing to make it look like it wasn't covered by the dollop of whipped cream. (TL:DR: for this, I cut out an image of pumpkin pie slice and then I stitched a bunch of images together in photoshop) -For 2:34, making him surprised was actually a very similar process! What I did was take that one image of him, cut him out in photoshop so that he has transparency behind him. I then used the spot healing brush tool or content aware fill tool on where his eyes are and just tweaked it until it looked like just skin where his eyes were lol. And then I found another image of him where his eyes looked more shocked (Which, fun fact, that image that I took it from, he was supposed to look like he was angry and threatening lol) and then basically just stitched those shocked eyes over where his regular eyes were. A tip I'd recommend to make it look a little more seamless is to try to find like harsh lines (like the bottom of his eyebags) that you can use as like I guess a border and then just feather it by like a few pixels. Fun fact, it's actually the same type of method google maps uses! (TL:DR: Find eyes from another image and just paste them onto the image you want to change in photoshop!) -For generally just moving the images around, I first, in photoshop, cut out all the images I need so that they have a transparent background (Though, sometimes I get lucky and the images I want to use already have transparent background). I then bring those images to After Effects and use the keyframes to move their positions around the screen. To make them as smooth as I have them, I use Bezier Curves to give me more control over the velocity of the images! Also, I use Photoshop and After Effects, but you don't need to!! Admittedly, I'm not very knowledgeable on programs other than After Effects to use, but for Photoshop there are a ton of free and cheaper options, like GIMP! Also if you want to use Photoshop and After Effects but it's too expensive, you TOTALLY SHOULDN'T pirate them among other Adobe products. It's way too easy to ACCIDENTALLY look up information to download these pieces of software online for free, especially on the r/piracy subreddit. Just letting you know for EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES! You don't wanna take away precious potential money from the poor multi-hundred billion dollar company who is currently being sued by the US government for their alleged shady practices, do you? Sorry to give you this essay length of word salad jumble of just a ton of words, but once you get the hang of it, I think you'll find it surprisingly simple, albeit, very time consuming! But yeah, if you do want to know of some actual video tutorials on how to get started using After Effects, I would 100% recommend watching School of Motion and Ben Marriott! Their tutorials gave me the start I really needed to really get started learning this intimidating program. A good video of Ben Marriott's I'd recommend watching is his video titled "Quick & Easy After Effects Shape Morph Tutorial". It's technically not a tutorial on learning After Effects, but it teaches so many basics in one small video and I think it's a great place to start!
how on earth does this only have 8 thousand views??? like genuniely, this is THE best lemon demon animation ive ever seen outside of aimkids, it deserves way more views
Man, ever since I started on this, I've been just waiting til I finished this so I could show you! It's taken such a long time, but man am I glad to see you here!
filthyramenking has unfortunatly stopped making videos for the time being it seems like but this reminded me of those Copyright free JJBA videos and honestly if i may say to a much higher quality excited for that tutorial!
Oh my gosh, as a giant fan of both JoJo and shitposty youtube animations done with stock photo, how have I not seen their videos before?! Thank you so much for showing me them and for the compliments as well! It means a ton!
@DavidTheMeow oh you are in for an absolute treat the running jokes are hilarious 🤣 Hes done episodes 123 and 5 (because he did 5 first) And then stopped uploading in the middle of working on 4
absolutely obsessed with this video at the moment so I'm just gonna waste my time and list shit about it that I really adore: - the way the visuals for the chorus follow the same format, altered a little bit the first time it repeats and a lot for the final chorus. like how the instrumentation in a lot of neil's songs develop each time the chorus repeats. it is so satisfying to watch - the ending visuals of each chorus is revealed to be the way they finally kill the pie salesman - little details like the wine in the glass the man drinks from swishing back and forth. or the fact you even bothered to make the inside of the pie crust at 0:30 visible. you didn't have to do that. but you did. and god do I respect it - everything written on the guy's driver's license lmfao - why did you go all out with the subtitles AGAIN. they look AMAZING you are INSANE and I mean that in the best way possible and then the sick ass callbacks to other lemon demon songs, there's probably more but these are the only ones I recognized: - 0:22 atomic copper claw in the dumpster, along with maybe a replica watch with custom inscription?? I have no idea what the gold thing is if they're all meant to be references lmao - 1:08 the pizza heroes callback. god bless you for that - 1:19 he loves his crayons and he loves the way they taste :) - 2:12 they torture him by trying to turn him into a mellified man. which is certainly one way to do it tl;dr i was fucking floored over how good this one was after just watching the pizza heroes one again and I will be there frame 1 the second you make another one of these. thank you so much
@TheCappuccino04 Oh my god, thank you so much! These types of comments are some of my favorite and never fail to give me a giant smile! I think you were actually like the first person who noticed and commented on my Pizza Heroes video about the small hint I put in the infomercial section that my next animation was gonna be for Pumpkin Pie. Btw, also big fan of your art too! lol
Pizza pie heaven to pumpkin pie heaven is so genius. I love the reference, I giggled at that. This whole video is amazing!! 1:19 Woah also more references!! Including my favorite, httjb! I love that you included these.
This has to be one of my favorite videos on the platform. I always rewatch it whenever it comes up in my recommended. All the little references to other projects, the subtle visual comedy in stuff like the guy pulling away a skeleton mask to reveal he has skeleton makeup, the jumpiness and joyfulness of the animation itself, the effort to always add detail even having the chorus change gradually while the song evolves to keep it fresh, THE SUBTITLES, I always forget just how much you can do with youtube subtitles. It's such a shame it didn't get nearly as many views as your past videos but I'm still very excited for whatever you do next
Im so glad you made this, literally one of the best LD songs ever!!11!!11//1!!!!!! (Also just realized the end of the video is the start of "when robots attack" I think its bad I noticed that)
It was more than absoluetly worth the wait, you truly make it look all so lively and fluid despite it being animated with pngs lol. Also gotta love the small references to other projects of yours.
can you make a tutorial on how you make these?
also if you're gonna do another i recommend doing marketland ^v^
