I agree Clint, just be honest about the error and do what they can to make it right for both parties. As a businessman you know mistakes happen and you get to eat profit once in a while to be right with customer. I wouldn't ask another business to lose money because of a legitimate error but lying is no way to gain trust. If they'd just been straight, I bet you'd have no problem buying the side boxes. On the other hand, if it felt like a bait and switch attempt, I'd likely never darken their door again.
Clint I have been selling parts since 1989 and have never lied like they did to you, we have asked people to please work with us if it was marked wrong but if they thought it wasn’t right they got it for the price they showed us. I would have called the corporate headquarters for the dealership and told them the situation and how they treated you.

In my opinion Clinton you called it straight on that bed.
Only thing I might have done different if I thought it would do a bit of good was demand to speak to the owner of the company as one businessman to another, or maybe set Bridgit on them!
I would’ve walked out when they lied. But your time is valuable too! Awesome truck regardless!
For what my opinion is worth I think you did exactly right. you stated that they should not lie to you and you got the bed for a little bit more. Quite rightly, he would have felt shame, shame that he was forced by his management to lie to you. I think we all know that would NOT happen at C and C equipment. If anything you would say to your customers "Hey, we screwed up, we will make it right with you though". That is what sets you guys apart from the competition 👍👍

I would probably try to negotiate a price somewhere between the website price and the $4900. Gotta say I am impressed that you squeezed that engine in there. I wouldn't want to work on it, to tight for me. Sounds and looks good. Can't wait to see it painted like the Semi.

They should have honored the website price, they can’t use the excuse that the website wasn’t updated yet because obviously they can do that pretty quickly seeing on how they changed it when you were there. Mistakes happen but most reputable business will honor listed price and not try to lie about it.

Great video Clint. I loved story time with Clint. You should 've negotiated with the dealer, maybe split the difference or something. A nasty review will also help in letting other people know the dealer is dishonest. The performance looks great and sounds even better. Nice truck!

Don't forget to stop by the dealership where you bought the flatbed from and show them it fits just like a glove
Hopefully that was just that one employee..my dad was a NAPA jobber for over 50 years we had a strict way of doing business and anyone treating a customer like you were would get marched up to the office and a check cut and send them on their way period. That kinda crap hurts a businesses long standing reputation.🔧🇺🇸 Truly enjoy your channel and all you do.

You should name the dealership so the consumer knows what he's embarking into! We as a society should start punishing these practices.
A simple search of Zimmerman dealers near nashville in will give you a surprise!!! 2 min search and they are EXPOSED. 👍👍
Absolutely, what Paul K. said. Offer the dealer a chance to make it right for both you and him-split the difference and an abject apology or names get named and that he was offered a chance to be a stand-up guy or let the chips fall where they may.

In California you could call Dept of Weights and Measures and they would be looking at fines and would be forced to sell it to you at the listed cost when you walked in the door. That department is fast and getting results, like in hours. They didn’t lie to just a customer, they lied to a business owner who knows the rules.

Awesome job on the new shop truck. Enjoyed the build. Hope you can find the tool boxes. I had a similar deal at a big box home store years ago on shingles. The price they had listed was great but when I went to order them the young sales clerk said you know that's not the right price. Long story short after he called for help I got that price and he was told to change it right away. He learned a lesson and I got a great deal.
I would have to tell them "Have a good day and keep your bed".

Spencer nailed me on a spare tire. Brand new Diamond C trailer, went to pick it up, spare tire on the build sheet was in the tongue box where it belonged. Dude pulled it out in the midst of hooking the trailer up to my truck and said "oh, we forgot to pull that out.. those are extra .. happy to sell it to you if you'd like". It's not a big deal, but like ya say, kinda leaves a bad taste in a guy's mouth.
