The best small dog breed is the Coton de Tulear. Doesn’t need a lot of space, exercise or food. Just enjoys hanging out with owner but does not show anxiety when owner is out of the house. Best dog I have ever owned, just needs combing if you want to keep a long hair style.

I used to pet sit for two of these. They were well bred, but still incredibly anxious and obnoxious.

@AnimalFacts I rescued Desiree, aka Desi, April 29,2021, from our local Animal Shelter (pound). I am a volunteer with Kerrville Pets Alive! and our President had put out an APB about this absolutely terrified chiweenie that was an owner surrender. My almost 18 year old chihuahua, Paco, had just passed three months earlier. I had adopted a senior dog that previous November, and Dingo was lonely. When I got Desi was 2.5 years old and 14 lbs. She has been velcroed to me ever since.
In October, another APB was sent out about three chihuahuas that had been dumped on an extremely busy road in our town. They had made their way about 3 miles, and the male was caught and in a kennel at the KPA! office . I went down to "foster", and fell in love at first sight with Diego, el Diablito Tasmanio. He was about 10 months old.
I had taken Desi to the vet on Star Wars Day 2021 for a pre-op check-up to be spayed. She had a line on her abdominal area that looked like a spay scar. I asked the vet how would I know? He said wait 6 months, and if she didn't go into heat, she was spayed. See where this is going? I now had Diego at home (Dingo had crossed the Bridge in July from CHF at 15 yrs old) .He's a puppy, right? No worries, right? On October 29th, I woke up to the two of them mattress dancing on MY mattress beside me. Desi had gone into heat 5 months and 3 weeks after her initial vet visit. Same thing happened on October 31st (the weenie WASN'T hollow). I didn't know that male dogs could procreate at 6 months old. In the early morning hours of December 31st Desi birthed seven beautiful puppies, 4 boys and 3 girls. I have Dewey, the runt of the litter along with Mom and Dad. I found good homes for the other six. Diego got neutered the previous month, and Desi was spayed in March 2022.
Piranha Petey, the Perpetual Phoster Pothead Pup, came into our lives August 1st, 2022. His previous owner had died six months earlier, and he was rescued from a backyard neglect situation. He was semi feral, lacking any socialization, and I think abused by his previous owner's brother and nephew who were found squatting in her home by the landlady. KPA was called in to assist. Petey seems to be a chihuahua/terrier mix. He still is very skittish around strangers and is absolutely postal around men, vacuum cleaners, brooms, and mops. For the longest time he wouldn't let me touch him without him snapping at me. After almost 18 months, he is finally letting me pet him and comes up in the Morning Cuddle Puddle for his pets and kisses. I have already told our foster coordinator that I don't think that it would be wise to place him somewhere else for fear of Petey reversing back to his earlier behavior, I want to keep him on foster status in order to have assistance with any future vet bills.
You wanted to know about my Muttley Crew, so there you have it. 😊

Beagles are definitely not an ‘easy’ breed.

They’re pretty easy compared to a lot of other breeds.

High prey drive, barking, digging etc. what about Havanese, Border terriers, King Charles spaniels, cocker spaniel instead?
