Good cars. They should have been turbo from the factory tho. My brother has one drifts great in the snow tho where u dont need any power :) its got a real torsen diff wich is nice
Congrats on the Valvoline involvement. We ran their VR1 oils in our Oztruck & TA2 Camaro. Their VR1 Brake fluid is fantastic as well. Certainly as good as SRF!
Warming an engine up to change the oil is counter productive. If it was hot when turned off all the oil that can drain out is in the sump already and starting the engine pumps it into all the galleries etc where it has to drain from again so you end up draining out less than you would have had you not started it. If on the other hand you had to move it to a hoist then warm it up but if it's already on the hoist just drain it.
Well done Benny. New sponsor and show going from strength to strength. Good music too. Is the Sigma build complete or are we going to see more? Hope to see more! Keep up the good work
Benny, buy a smaller pulley for the m62 supercharger. The one you have right now is ~94mm diameter and can be machined down to 86mm without getting rid of the magnetic clutch. also the pulley is super duper easy to replace, just one bolt and its off. get a 75mm one and you should be at 1 bar boost with your current setup
Thanks for the vid Benny! You convinced me with your previous videos so I'm fitting one of these supercharger kits to my car. I'm using an intake from an is300. I think I can get a power steering reservoir from a Nissan Sylvia to fit in nearly the same spot as the factory one.
@@BennysCustomWorks im glad, the IS is my favourite project on the channel because its a realistic entry level car, I'm keeping an eye out for a dirt cheap is200 for my first project track car myself because of the channel (although an RX8 is tempting because rotary, lol).
heya :) im also in the need right now to convert my lexus is200 1gfe to e85 but mostly because of regular gas prizes... what injectors and adapters exacly did you use? do you got a link for me? :)
I'd like to see an abs delete on the is200 and possibly a "cheap" dual rear caliper setup for your skid pan antics. These cars (1gfe variants) are being used more in the last 2 years and the aftermarket support is coming along now.
@@BennysCustomWorks I asked just to see if you came up with a mad bracket to run a stock set of calipers dual. I know you don't want to pile money into this car but your doing heaps for the people that do have this car and engine. What do you think about decompression plates for the 1gfe and camcon? I'm piecing together a gt3071r setup currently. I've done zero horsepower mods all chassis work so far lock kit/arms/suspension/polybush/sways/autodiff/short shifter/wheels and seat.
@@JasonSmith-lq6pl that’s what I mean though, you don’t need a dual caliper setup. We’ll be doing a hydro install without second calipers. De comp plates are never a great idea imo.
@@BennysCustomWorks the internals are weak and there are a few EU cars (turbo) with decomp plate managing 260kw with support mods. I don't know how freely 1ggte internals are in Aus, they're nowhere to be seen in GB but they're the cheapest option to forging.
Interested to see how much power it will make with E85! Just a random question, what would you do if that 1G decides to say goodbye someday? would you swap it or just get another 1G?
@ Benny, how much cash would it cost you to get the Cresta up to a late 6 second early 7 second time over the 1/4? Are you allowed to go that fast or do you need a different car to go into a different class? I guess you are limited by the size of turbo & lack of Nitrous?
Another big limiting factor is the vehicle itself. You need a way different cage to break into that bracket, and that kinda cage makes it just about impossible to have anyone but the driver in the car. It's why things like Drag Week style challenges don't see a lot of such vehicles in them-it's a lot more restrictive and you can't bring all your mates. Mike Finnegan (over on Finnegan's Garage) is building a new drag car, and one of the big requirements was to be able to have a back seat. That limited not only what cage he could put in, but ultimately a lot of the rear suspension and even the wheels/rubber he could load into it. It really is a whole different level to get another second or two off your time.
I searched for one for mine but doesn’t seem like anybody makes one. Probably not worth it since you can just get a larger water pump pulley, once you put a 165mm pulley on you’ll also be pretty close to the limit for charger rotor speed. If you needed more boost than an m62 with 165mm you’d have to make a custom m90 charger setup or change to turbo

I have one as well. I'm loving this slow build and can't wait to be able to supercharge or 1JZ swap mine.
Congrats on Valvoline sponsorship. Been using their stuff almost exclusively for quite a while.
“You know what I mean” congratulations Benny. Fantastic partnership
Engine sounds great. I love seeing those freer flowing headers put on, makes the engine much happier.

The bung for O2 or wideband sensors are the same as for a common 18mm spark plug. Any decent auto supply has the thread chaser (Tap).
Thread chasers only work if there’s material to fix. These literally had the threads torn out
I'm running the rank one return system along with their lightened flywheel with the 3sgte clutch on my turbo build, their stuff is amazing quality!
Their gear and after sales support are both fantastic

The music in this episode was excellent. Do you credit it anywhere? I wanna find it and more!
Might be Moog?
I also noticed the smooth and comfy music. A nice touch on the video.
It's Firefly by Oliver Michael, Shazam is your friend.
Congrats Benny on the sponsors. You're a legend mate!
I’ve definitely used exhaust gasket In a can before too lol

Just be done with it and chuck in a Cresta spec'd Barra in it!!!😜🤘

Do Rank performance make a smaller corresponding supercharger pulley ? Or is that size set in stone due to the clutch ?

ABS delete 100% as well as a hydraulic handbrake. You don’t really need a second set of calipers either tbh
