This is truly a work of art, I'm already so into this series. Bro if adult swim were to see this they would immediately greenlit it I can't wait for the next episode 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
On Ed, Edd n Eddy, the first scene showed Double D labeling things in his room. Now Peach Creek begins showing all the labels removed. Nice and clever tribute to the show.
@@sirconrad8328 sense all the characters are older i assume the edds hormones start acting up so double dee would feel some romantic feelings for marie even if hes confused why he does
This really hits home for us who grew up with the show. With a more dark mature tone. A metaphor for growing up. Leaving their fun and goofy childhoods behind and entering the lonely and depressing adult life. Sometimes I wonder where all my old friends are now but the other part of me tells me I should leave it in the past. Such is life and the yearning for the good old days.
I tried so hard to keep all of my friends. I thought I was a good friend. I used to have a lot of people in my life. I guess we don't choice our road, all we can do if feel what it has to show us. Maybe learn a thing or two then move on. Ps I'm stupid enjoy this dribble.
brother I'm there with you. Sometimes you just have to cut people off. You don't owe anyone anything, protect your mind and spirit. Those people if they wanted to be around would play a present role in your life, vice versa (reciprocating) @@macgreeze8287
"Johnny 2 by 4, did we ever call him that in the original show?" "Season 1 I think" Perfectly nailed that occasional 4th wall break humor the series had.
Seeing this as an adult and understanding some of the messages of what was happening to the characters in the original show feels like a suckerpunch... DDs parents being simultaneously absent but hyper-controlling, Ed being seen as nothing more than a burden/caregiver to his sister, Eddy idolizing the sibling who abused him bc of his parents absence... can't wait to see where this goes
"Ed being seen as nothing more than a burden/caregiver to his sister" Sarah accepted him by the end of the movie. I don't think the cause of Ed leaving is Sarah but instead his parents. The dream sequence had a flashback to the scene where Ed had his stairs removed. Regardless of how strong Ed is, trapping a kid in a basement like that is child abuse. And what kind of a parent would make their child sleep in a basement?
@Naruxos07 I agree! It's more that his parents viewed him as nothing more than am additional coparent. He was left stranded in a basement & his only value is "I have to help Sarah". She's probably very grateful for him, but to his parents his only saving grace was helping care for her
@@Naruxos07 as a kid, I thought that Ed's parents were just really carefree. Letting him live how he wanted, I never really thought too much about it. But watching back as an adult, it's very clear the Ed's parents wanted a girl and they since Ed wasnt one they didn't really care about him.
I personally think that Edd's Parents are the perfect example for "helicopter parents". They are travelling a lot due to their jobs and therefore they are extremely worried about Edd and that something might happen to him. So they are using the notes to "control" and "protect" him from the dangers of life. It could be a typical single child thing, if he is the only child they have, they want to make sure that nothing bad happens to him. All in All, i would say that Edd's parents might be the most normal parents in the series. Ed's parents are simply abusing and neglecting him and I think this is the saddest part of the entire lore. Normal parents would never put their child in the basement and remove the stairs. A "perfect" case for Child protective services.
As a child, I was always sad for the Eds as they were socially isolated and had crap family situations. I felt that and related to them so much. A lot of my peers saw the funny side of the show, but I always felt slightly depressed for the main trio (especially Double D) after watching each episode. I think I was only around 7 at the time I started to have those feelings. This episode captured those childhood feelings of mine perfectly.
It’s so amazing how the human psyche works. I was socially isolated and had crap family situations and it only made me feel better about them, made me feel like I was able to be happy despite it all.
@ my family situations were crap too. Every day I’d come home from school and these guys were my best friends. The cul de sac was my neighbourhood! I knew it better than my own street. This show really was one of the best things. I go to a cul de sac most nights and watch episodes online while smoking a joint or blunt. Good times!
Well, it has been a while. First, want to start with saying how sorry I am it's taken this long for episode 1's release. I could chalk it up to a huge number of reasons, but the fact is at the end of the day those reasons are irrelevant to you, the audience. You were expecting something, and I had failed to deliver it in the timeframe I was expecting. However, I want to thank you all so, so much for your patience while this has been worked on. A lot of tinkering, changes, last minute additions, design changes, and rewrites have gone into this, and I hope that it will have been worth the wait. From here, we're starting work on another minisode, and episode 2. A lot of learnings have been taken from the production of episode 1, as well as a lot of...well, shortcuts, I guess, to speed things up. Minisode 2 is currently entering the animatic stage, and episode 2 is in the storyboard stage. HOPEFULLY the wait between these will be significantly shorter than the wait for episode 1. Thank you all again, sending you all good vibes
First off, I just want to say I don’t care how long it took. Second, I want to say I really don’t care that this took a while. Third, I want to say Thank you.
I cannot explain how much Ed Edd n Eddy means to me. It is such a monumental part of my childhood that watching this has me laughing and crying at the same time. Thank you so much for not giving up. Just remember the community tab here on RUclips to give us updates in the future!
Watching this as an adult who grew up on the original series is trippy. The art direction is different, but it works and I fell right back into the world. Very well done.
@@mymysterymysterio The dream sequence was a good throwback to the original animation and even the HD quality in streams of reruns of the show you see around.
It really is crazy, I'm 7 minutes in but it just felt so comforting so far, but also kinda profound because most cartoons usually keep the status quo, but this fan-made sequel allows for actual growth of the characters in a real to life kinda way. Like in the original show you almost see Plank as another character, then here you hear Johnny grew out of him and it almost feels wrong. . . Then you remember when you were 9-10 years old you knew a kid or 2 with an imaginary friend and you had a similar reaction to Double-D and Eddy when you find out he grew out of it, and you feel kinda sympathetic towards that person for being so quiet now because they weren't quiet back then but they were lonely and used that imaginary friend as a crutch. Man it's insane how this fan animation brought back memories like that for me. That's how you know it's good.
I had a buddy named Talon who was a big fan of the original show, sadly he left this world behind before this version came to fruition. I'll be watching it in his memory.
Peach Creek already got the attention of the creator Danny Antonucci, the voice actors of the Ed Boys and AKA Cartoon Inc, the studio behind Ed Edd n Eddy and so far they are okay with this The only thing the current creator of this unofficial sequel needs is a blessing from Antonucci himself Episodes 2-6 has already been planned and currently in production
@@nil981 Abingdon (Peach Creek creator) had podcasts with The VAs of the Ed Boys and they are aware about this project Antonucci is quite active in social media and it’s impossible that he hasn’t seen this AKA Cartoon Inc had re-posted this in fb
Watching this feels akin to running into an old friend you haven't seen in a decade or two and wondering what the hell happened to them and if they're okay...And I mean that in the best possible way. Everything from the writing to the general vibe is marvelous.
Except they aren’t okay at all, and they’re actually trapped in purgatory and now all we can do is watch them be tormented knowing no salvation will come 🙃
As someone who grew up hopelessly obsessed with Ed, Edd n Eddy, this unofficial sequel project gives me the same feeling as the original series, just with a strong drop of maturity added. The accuracy of the characterization took me by total surprise-the voice actors for the Eds all sound damn near _identical_ to the originals. It’s easy to tell just how much love, care and passion was poured into producing this first episode alone, and I’m already craving more. This is the perfect continuation for a series as beloved as Ed, Edd n Eddy. This project feels like it truly does come after the end of Big Picture Show, like a half-decade time skip. From kids to teens, I’m fully on board to see where the Eds’ lives take them next, and this team of creative minds are more than cut out for that job. Super excited to see what comes next in this series!
The really high energy jazz being replaced with low intensity and almost depressing blues music is completely spot on. This was worth the wait. You guys have something really special going here!
@@midnightfire9277 agreed, glad to see others out there who are also fans! it's really underrated! One of the most emotional and interesting TV shows out there, let alone just anime. And as depressing as the show can be, for someone who has felt similar to the main character, It can actually be incredibly sweet, happy and inspirational as well! Idk the scene at 3:20 instantly reminded me of it, the music, the solemn and quiet atmosphere, the character dragging on a cigarette, just contemplating. The only difference really is that it's 3 guys talking instead of just one man's inner monologue to himself lol.
I'm 27 now, hitting 30 in 3 years, I grew up with these guys, watching them brings me middle school and high school nostalgia, I'm glad I had an awesome time in my teens with ed edd n eddy.
Thats it. That's the way I was trying to describe it. I couldn't quite place it, but that was 13 minutes of a roller-coaster of emotions. But just like those Saturdays as a kid, I wasn't worried about anything else.
@@LessThanKona i think it’s because as a child we and them the characters weren’t aware of how dull their world is and now with the perspective of an teen/adult the junkyard, the trailer park, the neighborhood etc is depressing scenery to be around lls idk where i was going with this comment
I love the way it just sets the mood and focus on Double D. A somber, quiet, and melancholic teen accepting his parents are always going to be out of his life. I do love the characterization of the other Eds: Ed is still the same dumb dork with a lovable heart and Eddy still has that proudness, but he definitely seems more reserved. I liked that he kept the changes after the events of _Big Picture Show_ too.
To me Eddy redemption arc was handle well in the big picture show it gave us hints over the series Eddy was faking his jerky ways and there was hints in the show that Eddy parents knew about his brother behaviour and why they bury anything related to him and why they treat Eddy like the golden child
@comicbookreviewer4856 eddy was acting like he didn't want to go home. He was acting like he couldn't be alone. Like something us wrong at his place as well. All of them kinda acted like this when they were going home. They they all had a little something at home thst wasn't right and they were all ashamed of it. I dont think eddy is the golden child.i think he's just about in the same boat DD is in but possibly worse? I'm interested in seeing his situation
I'm speechless. As someone who grew up with this show like many others. This is just amazing. The voice actor for Double D did a fantastic job of almost sounding like the original Double D. Which surprised me. The artwork is amazing and the story catches you. I can't wait to see more and where this series takes us.
I wish that a network would give this snow a change the ominous feeling that this episode Gibbs off makes me want to know what brought these three young characters to the Future
Double D: Can it be an original story and not a rehash of something else? Eddy: Don't get meta on me, sock head. Love the fourth wall breaking follows them even into a fan series
OMG! I'm so happy. All of my friends thought this was abandoned and left. I'm so glad that I stayed behind and never gave up hope. Thank you for taking your time and making this.
Fuck, I couldn't agree more. It honestly makes me tear up about how beautifully they transitioned from the original show's childhood innocence into a coming-of-age tale of realistic teens.
I believe they’re doing something very incredible with this show it’s like a fever dream to me. It’s crazy cuz I literally stumbled upon this randomly going back down memory lane remembering how I loved this show🥹. It was one of my favorites and it was so relatable because they actually aged the characters throughout the series up until 2009 when it ended they are both visibly older and behave as if they’ve grown a little like we all did during that period.
The melancholy setting for me when I saw plank amidst the junk in the junkyard. It was so unsettling because this ain't the cul de sac we remember anymore. The kids are growing up, alongside the audience.
I can't say I ever wondered what Ed, Edd, n eddy would be if you took away the life, color, energy, humor, and fun, but it's surprisingly engaging and well done.
So much of this feels laid back. Like the feeling has matured with the characters. What once was full of cartoony energy now feels chill and melancholy. It makes me feel a unique emotion that I can’t describe.
I believe it’s the fact we are no longer children. Just like with the new ICarly, the creators (and fan creators) know that the kids that use to watch this show are no longer kids.
“I have to help Sarah with her homework.” That is amazing foreshadowing right there because it’s so subtle. At first it just seems like one of the ways Sarah pushes Ed around to do whatever she wants. But when you start to think about it, the statement is a bit weird: why would Sarah want Ed, the person she regards as a complete idiot, to help with her homework? He’d probably end up getting in the way. Fact of the matter is, that was a lie on Ed’s part to cover up what he was really doing.
I don't know if anyone else has brought it up, but I really love the choice of animation style you've made. I didn't realize it was a deliberate choice until that final sequence, but keeping the outlines steady and darkening the color palette really emphasizes how much they've grown, and the return to classic animation during a dream was chefs kiss.
I randomly found this and didn't intend on watching it immediately. But I was sucked in. You stole my attention and I am fascinated with where this new adventure is going.
I liked how double d actually seemed to feel genuinely bad for johnny and what he had to go through, really shows that he was his friend in the original show.
That dream sequence was Absolute Perfection. Some shots almost look ripped straight from the later seasons and the movie even when they were original pieces. Well played.
@@Ultralink1001 The last shot with Ed looking at his stairs gone, that's new. And I wanna say that shot of Eddy's Brother smirking looking down at May was new too. A lot of specific elements were new shots for that dream sequence. If anything, I'm really impressed they got the paper fish puppets in there nice and crisp.
@@HeyJoeCool I know, but what I'm saying is that shot specifically with Ed standing there and crying putting his face in his hands is a new animation these guys made.
...that's actually a pretty good description, ngl. Without the Eds creating any wacky conflict... things just grew to a stale. And stayed like that for years.
@@TheMetalwolf77777 2000s was a weird time, on the surface there wasn't allot to be pissed about, but you could still tell something was off in the background, like we were living in a fever pitch that could snap at any moment. This first episode was phenomenal. So many Easter eggs from the original, open plot lines for different characters, the characters staying true to self even with the time skip. This is a great project and one that I’ve honestly been waiting for. Can’t wait to see the rest of it
I never knew this project existed and only stumbled on it while unable to sleep. And all I can say is this: I am blown away and extremely excited for the future of Peach Creek!!! When so many other reboots and remakes seem to lean on being overly vulgar or edgy, with constant sex references or drugs or swearing to the point of it feeling obnoxious instead of shocking or impactful, this episode did what I think is the best choice for an EEnE continuation- keeping the characters and the personalities recognizable while also matured, and leaning into all those partially/pretty untouched things that as kinds it’s harder to notice. All wrapped in this (for me, at least) really relatable, bittersweet nostalgia. I could keep gushing, but I really gotta sleep. So I’ll leave with one last thing- Bravo to all the people behind this project, you all did great!!!
@@Iuvfortnite Oh no, I didn't mean 'other reboots and remakes' of EEnE specifically, I meant reboots and remakes of shows in general- like how they did Scooby Doo so dirty with the Velma show, for example. Sorry about the confusion, and to disappoint. ^^;
Thank you for this masterpiece. My heart breaks for the "Foolish Ed boy", with DD distancing himself from others and just seeming burned out on life and Ed feeling heartbroken because hes only ever been a caregiver regardless of being mentally behind his sister. Ed loved his friends and family even after they would do the most horrible things to him, and he truly deserved so much more love and care from others in the original show instead of being a joke to everyone around him, they exploited Ed's strengths and then always looked down on him for his mental state, which we can see he was neglected by his parents with them going so far as to put him in the basement and take his stairs away, in high school even now hes having to help his little sister with her homework when he probably doesnt even understand it, the pain in his voice when he says that could either be because his friends arent listening or because he knows that he probably wont be any help for his sister, that hes just been ordered to do it. Sorry if im digging too deep but lord help me, you made a work of art here. Im eagerly waiting for more.
My dude you just sunk your claws deep into the lore of the show and you hit my feels pretty hard with your comment. Could not have summarized this better myself! Ed, Edd, n Eddy was one of my favorite shows growing up
The references are just amazing. Like Double D’s mom saying his friends shouldn’t use the screen door, a nod to when Ed and Eddy ran right through them. Or when May calls Jimmy “Dutch,” a reference from the movie. This really just touched my soul. It’s amazing to see this, years later after the audience has grown up, now so have the Eds… Fantastic work. Truly inspirational and I hope we see more. I’m a little afraid that this might receive the same treatment Total Drama Reunion received in terms of CN stepping in, but I’d like to think Antonucci wouldn’t let that happen. Anyways, this was a wonderful episode that really shed some light on the Ed’s world. We have quite a few unanswered questions, so spoiler warning… Spoilers!!! What happened to Double D’s parents? It’s October and they’re not back yet, seemingly. At the end of the movie, it seemed like the Ed’s became friends with everyone, but now they’re separate again. Eddy mentions what happened to Double D, to which he replies back with the same to him, did something happen to Eddy? Johnny was missing, but why? And what happened to Plank and their relationship? Where is Lee Kanker? Is something going on with the Kankers? Did Ed decide to run away from home? Or was he kicked out? Seems like at the end of the episode, it shows a life of abuse he might have lived, being stuck in his basement. We have so much to learn and discover!!!
Not to mention someone writed it May have PTSd trauma with eddy's Brother.. In this case ..So when the Kanker sisters dragged Bro into he's apartment building at the end of the movie, then Eddy's brother somehow he woke up and overpowered them and raped them?
As a huge fan of the original cartoon, this is a strong nostalgia trip. Well done guys, it's been worth every day since the trailer came out. Hats off to all of you.
Also a sense of sadness were all grown up now and we'll never get those days back :( sure being an adult is awesome but your hit with the reality of everything sometimes you wish you could just go back to a stress free existence
I can see why this took two years to make, the amount of work that has been put into this episode alone is astounding. From the characters to the music tone, heck even the use of colors, you can tell that this is a more somber version of the original series which makes sense considering they're all grown up now. But it's done so authentically that it feels like a natural extension to the original series. Fantastic job to all of you guys who have busted your backs to make this possible. As someone who watched the show ever since he was four, this is an A+ job.
I just wanna say i appreciate how well done the voice acting is done in this. They really do sound like how they would if they were grown up and im just grateful it isnt really cheesy. I hope to get more of this
I was born 1995. Every Friday nights cartoon network I would watch every new release. This trio were my only friends growing up. I stumbled on your channel just the other day and rewatched this episode over and over. Please keep making more I needed this series in my high school years. I don't know how or what you do to make it happen. Please keep it up I'll watch every episode just like the original Ed, Edd, and Eddy.
This is a treasure, and I hope it receives the recognition it deserves. You have no idea how many of us 90s kids are rooting for this series. Well done.
This turned out better than I thought. I especially liked the _Twin Peaks_ homage at the end. The amount of detail and passion that went into this is self evident. Looking forward to see where this goes. Keep up the great work!
can someone explain the ending please? never watched twin peaks. the stairs to the rest of the house are gone, he's leaving with a suitcase, did he get kicked out? running away?
i bet danny is humbled that hardcore fans still make these awesome tributes to ed edd n eddy over 14 years later. the sound memes, the ed singing meme, the gem gem and gemmy steven universe cross over and now your on take on ed edd n eddy and your attention to detail! i quite enjoyed this! well done!
In a way i kinda like how they sound slightly older, similar to how the characters in Hey Arnold changed voiced to reflect the fact they were growing up. It's a nice touch.
I really like what's done with the atmosphere here. It's hard to describe, but it's like a cold October wind from a nostalgic time, somewhere between chill, chilly, and chilling.
Feel like the script would definitely need some reworking for a major network. Came across this video randomly and am not feeling it. Don't know how to phrase it. It's close, but feels like it's missing that slight charm. Might just be like with most things it's becoming tiring to see old properties that were fun and light hearted trying to be turned into something more edgy and dark. This series as other comments have pointed out definitely is one worth exploring that route with. Seeing how messed up everyone was with their childhood ( like that one OffSpring song: "When we were young the future was so bright (Whoa) The old neighborhood was so alive (Whoa) And every kid on the whole damn street (Whoa) Was gonna make it big and not be beat Now the neighborhood's cracked and torn (Whoa) The kids are grown up but their lives are worn (Whoa) How can one little street Swallow so many lives". Think that could describe the series perfectly lol). I remember there were rumors/ talks about doing such stuff with shows like Hey Arnold and Rugrats, but such routes were decided not to. Maybe it was a lack of lines. Eddy's comeback didn't seem as whippy as it should have been ( while I get what he was referring to it didn't make much sense in context). Double D didn't seem as nerdy ( should have been listing off facts about nicotine and dangers that addictions could lead too lol), and Ed... ... ...butter toast? Definitely see they put work into this, and will follow for episode 2 out of curiosity where they go.
That would be great for this guy but due to my own selfishness I’d hope it wouldn’t, cuz then he’ll have little to no say in what would happen in the show, especially with the climate were in rn they ruin every old cartoon with there re makes and spin offs
Everything about this was absolutely incredible: the animation, the soundtrack, the voice acting, the character designs, the plot…amazing! Really blew me away
In the second season’s episode “Hands Across Ed”, Edd addressed Johnny as "Johnny 2 by 4”. I loved the tension between them as it hints that their teenage life would be the last time they’ll be regularly hanging out with each other. Loved the hand-drawn animation and how the outlines moved. Surprisingly well done and looking forward to the next episode.
that is very on, Edd is knowing of this. well Eddy wants to still throw back to the days of just him and the guys. with a touch of Ed, wanting to and most likely will wind up hanging on on and off with them but no longer together.
i believe there was also one episode where they just call him 2x4 and not add the johnny in front of it, it was during one of there scams but i can't remember which one.
Honestly, Eddy has grown a lot. He could easily make new friends at his work (maybe he will?) and fall back into his scamming ways with them. But instead, he subtly treasures Ed and Edd if you listen to his words and actions carefully even if he isn't one for emotions.
Wow I can't believe they turned Ed, Edd, n Eddy into Twin Peaks! In all seriousness, you really captured the small town loneliness of the original and used it to your advantage tonally. It makes the world feel so small, like a dead end, you could say like a... cul-de-sac. There's so much charm, but with a pervasive underling sadness. Great job. Can't wait to see how these characters make like Double D's labels and get unstuck.
@@animefan2454 The ending stretch of the episode. May's dream sequence plays out similarly to the Tall Man talking to detective Cooper, the Red Room segements, or in similar fashion the ranchhand in the "dream" sequences of Mulholland Drive.
I love how for the majority of the animation, the style doesnt really reflect that of the original show and we're led to believe that its simply due to a lack of quality derived from this been a small fan project. But then in Mays dream sequence, the animator shows they are perfectly capable of animating in the original shows style almost perfectly. Which makes me believe now the change / uniqueness of the new style may be indicative of their maturity and morph into becoming teenagers. The design does also seem more grungy and edgy which is fitting for their age. Very well done to the animation. I cant wait to watch the rest.
I am oddly loving how you get a sense “Big Picture Show” seemed like a turning point for most of the characters. You get a sense Eddy is now more mature and willing to actually work, taking on a real job, even brushing off Double D Jabbing at how he’ll probably just slack off. You even get a sense he still values his friends considering he insisted on hanging out with Double D. That ending was a trip and is one heck of a cliff hanger. Is Ed running away from home or is he being sent away, or is it a misdirect that he just has to take the bus to get home?
My jaw DROPPED. This was so good. Like when they were kids, everything was fun and goofy. Now their teenagers and really getting a grip of what the real world is like outside their cul-de-sac. Brilliant, absolutely Brilliant.

I actually like this a lot. Going from wacky slapstick to something more down to Earth isn't what I'd expect from an EE&E follow up, but it still manages to call back to the spirit of the original with a few fourth wall jokes, and the voice actors for the main three nailed their roles. Two years well spent, and I'll be fine waiting another two years for the next episode if it's as good as this.
Can't help but wonder if the water droplets happening right after we see a chunk of what remains of Plank is a hint of whats to come with Johnny. With the water drops referencing the torture the Eds caused him in the very first episode. He very well may still be a looming threat. Hope to see more of this series, good work!
I love your use of silence! It reminds of what Phil Lamarr (a man who voices just about everyone in the 2000s) said about the first episode of Samurai Jack. How at the time cartoons were constant noise to keep people engage, but the first episode of Samurai Jack has 11 minutes of silence. You really needed to say very little to capture our attention and it leaves us with tons of questions that we’re just begging for answers. Truly, thank y’all for giving this beloved series some love
Continuity on point, voice-over perfect, ambience insane, animation on a professional level, the pace is a little slow but I believe that's what you guys were going for. This is exactly what Dan would do if he had the chance. You guys go on and make more please, this will be huge. Congrats
(❤) I agree with u but its also important to notice that the slower pace was needed for episode 1 to be this good... especially when the big picture show was showing a darker tone. I feel the transition into teenagers would make so much sense. They can't scam anymore because the kids are growing up and no longer stupid and naive. It makes so much sense!
@@SophiaBlossom- I'm also glad they didn't go back to the status quo after Eddy's breakthrough in BPS. The scams were fun, but it'd feel wrong to undo such a wonderful ending, rather than look forward.
Taking these characters in a more serious in tone direction is a nice way of reintroducing them to a new audience. I grew up watching "Ed, Eddie N' Eddy" as a kid and seeing this new take as a 26 year old has brought me back to my childhood. This proves how much the creators are fans of the original. Seriously cannot wait for episode 2.
Literally 55 seconds into the video and I immediately got hit with two gut punches of nostalgia, this gave me Mission Hill, CN City vibes. Awesome work!!!!
Man seeing Edd's basement again as a grown up after all these years... with the stairs STILL missing caught me off guard, that truly brought joy to my heart❤😂
Bro why ? its literally part of his child abuse due to him having a learning disability The parents are literally treating him like a pet at home which is why hes always out with his buds seeing that basement broke my heart. seeing anyone elses house basement or shit even the goddamn cul de sac which could easily be done since its generic and not trademark that would have added a good bit of nostalgia for me
Can’t wait for more to be released. This is so comforting but in a sad way. Like none of us will ever be a kid again and now our favorite boys grew up just like the rest of us
I'm honestly surprised of how you managed to make the characters feel the same as they were in the original show, it's just like watching the continuation of the old ones. Shit dude this gave me a lot of nostalgia. Not only that, the art, the voice actors, the ambient, the way of how they look and behave is just mind blowing dude. Can't wait for the next episode man, don't give up on this project you have created dude. I want to see this work of yours grow, who knows if you end up in the big leagues. Thanks for this man, I wish you the best and a lot of blessings
Brilliant and amazing. First episode tells me this is going to very different from the original. I hope Danny sees this loving tribute you guys made. Thank god CN didn’t reboot this show because you did more justice by giving us a passion project that has an adult feel as those who watched this show are in their adult years already.
It really is crazy to realize how Eddy really is the normal kid out of all his friends. Sure he's had it rough, but it seems like his parents, for all their harshness, raised him right in the end.
The references and little details are INSANE!! Sticky note about the screen door Jimmy in eddys brothers body (she called him dutch because thats what they called Jimmy in the movie) And if you put subtitles on during the dream sequence, you can see one of the voices was johnny I also love how eddy isnt plotting any scams anymore ever since he and the gang were finally accepted by the kids and he has a job so hes making money! 😂 OH!! and during the hallucination! Three macaroni noodles on on the side, which was Ed's art piece!
This is a perfect example how continuations are able to have a chance being great, and this episode delivered it, loved how they all matured, possibly a year or 2 since they're still in HS and can to take on more serious approach on their lives
I don't know if anyone's ever mentioned this yet but notice how Marie is heading into AP Art? Looking forward to seeing how much growth she's had as a character.
She was painting at the AP Art class in the Hanky Panky Hullabaloo special, so I guess the creator of Peach Creek decided to use Marie’s taste for the arts on his show.
Oh hell yes George. I am so proud of you and the team. I know how much this meant to you and how intensive it was, you are all incredible. The animation is insane, the attention to detail is incredible, the sound design perfect, and the voice actors did not come to play. This is such a nostalgia trip. God, amazing work everyone. GET IT BROTHA!!!!!
This actually brought me to tears. I remember being 5 years old when Ed, Edd , n Eddy aired for the first time on CN Fridays. It was the first time I stayed up all night watching them replay it over and over again. It was one of the few shows I kept up with from start to finish when I was growing up. I'm 30 now and this just hits so close to home. Thank you so much for the time, effort, hard work, and dedication you and your team poured into this. You guys are incredible and I can't wait to see the next episode! ❤️🙏
Same here dude. I'm 29 now and I loved the show, the back-to-school ones really hit me growing up that's real nostalgia pretending it's August when it's actually September. The animated movie and btw do you remember the special cereal box DVD Cartoon Network special? On the disk was the Valentines Day eps. Years later I think in the remembering time capsule eps they referred back to it or was that one of the other episodes the ironically referenced the Valentines Day thing?
I like how when we get to see the locations and hear their voices it sounds like meeting old friends you've missed for a long time. It hits home seeing this. Brings back memories.
Please keep this series going guys. I actually got teary-eyed watching this. So much childhood nostalgia rushing back to me. So many years wonderimg about the Ed boys, you guys answered it. Thank you so much for this. Truly.
There's something about that opening montage that felt so... nostalgic. But nostalgic for a thing we never officially got. This feels like seeing new photos of an old friend you haven't seen in the long time.
I love how the 3 second-long segment with Marie Kanker at 2:37 is the most-replayed part of this entire episode. Means people definitely want to see more of the Kankers in episode 2!
I legit hope there are episodes of them just hanging out and chilling together. Maybe even make an episode where Eddy is pissed that he's spending more time with Marie instead of him and Ed. That would fit perfectly honestly.
She and her sisters are what I’m hyped for most. Especially seeing Marie with double d, aka the best pairing. Hopefully their interactions will lead to them getting together.
@@nighttime-mime nah not yet it's too soon I still want to see him be distant from her but I want her to really want him but I do think that eventually in the future I want to see your idea come to fruition in future episodes.

I just finished the episode and holy crap I didn’t expect something like this. So many amazing things the backgrounds, the characters still have there charm, and the story is really interesting. Amazing work and I can’t wait for more to drop.
Oh god. The 4th wall breaks. 😂 And the whole episode and dynamics... I didn't realize how much I missed all of these until now. Fair to say it's been more than a decade since I finished the episodes and the Big Picture Show. 😅
I like how the 4th wall break is still there. And it's also nice seeing some in-depth lore for Ed with his family, since that's been something a lot us fans have now been noticing from rewatching the show. My fair salute to you and your team, keep it up. 😊
Wow, after years of waiting...that was something all right. I like how the tensions were set up, some fractures in the Eds' relationship with Double D's restlessness, Eddy seemingly being content with a dead-end job and Jonny's return, but it's Ed who tries to leave? I couldn't make sense of May's dream portending Eddy's brother, who I appreciate seeing again, but we'll see!
May I just say, the Fall feel was real, this teleported me back aesthetically back to the original show, but feels up to date and sad. But in a beautiful way, I'm very excited to see where this goes
Late to the party, but I'm so glad to see the first episode finally. You guys have done a great job at keeping the characters true to who they are, and a realistic idea of how they would be in their late teens. The departure from the whimsical children they were and diving right into them facing their parental and social abuse is a good take. It was very well known that the Eds parents families were all broken, and seeing them broken apart emotionally is very realistic. I can't wait to see how you guys touch on this more, and how the humor the show was known for compliments it. I like the 4th wall break, very very Ed, Edd, n Eddy. As someone in the comments said already, this feels like catching up with some old friends I haven't seen in years. Can't wait to see the next episode, will be patiently waiting.
Well done all those who brought this to life, from the artists, the voice actors through to the sound designers, you all did a wonderful job taking us all back to Peach Creek after all these long years... Also, for those wondering, that "story" which Ed was telling Double D & Eddy is actually Attack of the Alligators, an episode of the 1965 show Thunderbirds.
No doubt, there will be some mad character arcs for these people in this series and I cannot wait to see them! This team really did a good job of simultaneously keeping the personalities of the original show and growing them up.

On Ed, Edd n Eddy, the first scene showed Double D labeling things in his room. Now Peach Creek begins showing all the labels removed. Nice and clever tribute to the show.

This really hits home for us who grew up with the show. With a more dark mature tone. A metaphor for growing up. Leaving their fun and goofy childhoods behind and entering the lonely and depressing adult life. Seeing Ed's childish innocence alongside Eddy's and Edd's melancholy really drives home how much they've grown. And growing up can suck.

Dude stop
Seeing this as an adult and understanding some of the messages of what was happening to the characters in the original show feels like a suckerpunch... DDs parents being simultaneously absent but hyper-controlling, Ed being seen as nothing more than a burden/caregiver to his sister, Eddy idolizing the sibling who abused him bc of his parents absence... can't wait to see where this goes
"Ed being seen as nothing more than a burden/caregiver to his sister"
Sarah accepted him by the end of the movie.
@TielMama777 Kankers, there is an implication that they all have different dads, and ran off in the original show.

I was socially isolated and had crap family situations and it only made me feel better about them, made me feel like I was able to be happy despite it all.
its all brain washing they did to us
@ my family situations were crap too.

Take your time and don’t apologize! I already can’t wait to see the next episode!

I get that. Personally Ed is my favorite character on the og and most likely be my favorite here
This comment encapsulates my feelings and thoughts on this.
My dude you just sunk your claws deep into the lore of the show and you hit my feels pretty hard with your comment. Could not have summarized this better myself! Ed, Edd, n Eddy was one of my favorite shows growing up
Me too! Waiting for more episodes from this new secuel version of the show
I can tell from this comment alone that you’re a very insightful person.
The references are just amazing. Like Double D’s mom saying his friends shouldn’t use the screen door, a nod to when Ed and Eddy ran right through them. Or when May calls Jimmy “Dutch,” a reference from the movie. This really just touched my soul. It’s amazing to see this, years later after the audience has grown up, now so have the Eds…
Fantastic work. We have quite a few unanswered questions, so spoiler warning…
Spoilers!!!
Im assuming Johnny went to an asylum or camp or something to get rid of plank.
Not to mention someone writed it May have PTSd trauma with eddy's Brother.. In this case ..So when the Kanker sisters dragged Bro into he's apartment building at the end of the movie, then Eddy's brother somehow he woke up and overpowered them and raped them?
If you watch the mini episode, Lee Kanker is still around

I can see why this took two years to make, the amount of work that has been put into this episode alone is astounding. From the characters to the music tone, heck even the use of colors, you can tell that this is a more somber version of the original series which makes sense considering they're all grown up now. But it's done so authentically that it feels like a natural extension to the original series. Fantastic job to all of you guys who have busted your backs to make this possible. As someone who watched the show ever since he was four, this is an A+ job.
Lol you dont remember watching this when you were four
I just wanna say i appreciate how well done the voice acting is done in this. They really do sound like how they would if they were grown up and im just grateful it isnt really cheesy. I hope to get more of this

I stumbled on your channel just the other day and rewatched this episode over and over. Please keep making more I needed this series in my high school years. I don't know how or what you do to make it happen. Please keep it up I'll watch every episode just like the original Ed, Edd, and Eddy.

I got a feeling they probably did
These voice actors nailed the roles so easy! They sound remarkably similar to the originals! Job well done on both the cast and crew! 👍
In a way i kinda like how they sound slightly older, similar to how the characters in Hey Arnold changed voiced to reflect the fact they were growing up.
It's a nice touch.
they really did do a great job. they sound pretty much exactly like what everyone from the show would sound like as 16-18 yr olds
@@TielMama777 there was a hey Arnold television movie that recently came back in 2017.
I really like what's done with the atmosphere here. It's hard to describe, but it's like a cold October wind from a nostalgic time, somewhere between chill, chilly, and chilling.
This! Definitely got this melancholic autumn vibe
chil, chill n chilly
Life is Strange Core
This is perfectly described. It’s especially perfect when I remember a lot of Ed Edd n Eddy episodes took place during the fall.
The original show had that vibe too imho probably just nostalgia and how seasons changed in the show and watching it during Halloween time
This was absolutely astounding, I hope this gets picked up by a major network at some point. The Ed boys need to make a return.
Seeing how messed up everyone was with their childhood ( like that one OffSpring song:
"When we were young the future was so bright (Whoa)
The old neighborhood was so alive (Whoa)
And every kid on the whole damn street (Whoa)
Was gonna make it big and not be beat
Now the neighborhood's cracked and torn (Whoa)
The kids are grown up but their lives are worn (Whoa)
How can one little street
Swallow so many lives".

@@envisioner007The only thing keeping them together is Ed … and Ed finally can’t take his family’s abuse anymore … so he’s leaving
i believe there was also one episode where they just call him 2x4 and not add the johnny in front of it, it was during one of there scams but i can't remember which one.
The craziest part is where Eddie is actually listening to Ed's story
That's his homie
Eddy clearly learned to enjoy Ed's stories. That boy's creativity and imagination is boundless.
BUTTER TOAST!@@StarforceOnAir
What part feel like Twin peaks?
The tone matches the kids who grew up with the show because we are all adults now with more settled depressing lives
@@greenbanana1001 ain't that the truth? 😢😢😢
@@greenbanana1001 speak for yourself, there's a small subsect of people who are having the time of their lives swimming in money and possibly extending their youth all the while kidnapping orphaned kids to be used for their private leisure activities
Better question where can we fund the next episode so it'll come out faster and improved even more?!
It suits it because the kids who grew up with this show aren’t kids anymore and have settled down more
Can't help but wonder if the water droplets happening right after we see a chunk of what remains of Plank is a hint of whats to come with Johnny.

After watching this, I can only say one thing:
No matter how long it takes for new episodes, I'll never unsubscribe. This was worth the wait, period.

Wow, after years of waiting...that was something all right.
