  • Alfa Romeo Stelvio LED headlight bulbs swap.
    This is my 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio. I’m upgraded the OEM headlight bulbs for LED bulbs. This is the process I took to get them installed. I got to say, I love them. Better than OEM.

    Hi, any recommendations on what to use to Jack up the stelvio (2022 stelvio veloce and the wheel well covers appear different) and where the Jack point is? Sorry a rookie here. But would appreciate your advice!!

      I used a regular 2ton jack. Once you get under the vehicle, you’ll see some arrows pointing to the Jack stand point.

    Hi,
    I've taken out the two screws and the push pin clip but the cover barely moves. It seems to be set inside the plastic trim on the outer edge of the wheel arch. Do you know how the trim can be removed to give the arch cover more flexibility? Does it just pop off and pop back on?
    Thanks for the video. It's the closest I've managed to come to changing the bulbs.

    • @RonDIYMods
      @RonDIYMods  2 года назад +1

      Yes you have to pull on the cover to get it out of the wheel arch trim. It will looks likes it bending it but trust me it will go back. You have to use a bit of force to get it out of the trim. Once your done all you have to do is just push it back in with a bit of force.

    Have you changed out the daytime running light bulbs? Can you show that. No one has it on RUclips. That would be awesome thanks

    • @RonDIYMods
      @RonDIYMods  8 месяцев назад

      The daytime running lights are integrated into the headlight. Those are not swappable bulbs the only way to change the color in those is to get them, retrofit it and open up the headlight itself.

      @RonDIYMods oh ok I was just wondering if the daytime running lights go out how to change it. So if they go out just change the head light. They work together right?

    Any recommendation for how to get the new bulb to sit correctly in the light? I got the old bulb out, but the new one (and the old one) won't go back in properly. It's like I can feel the guides line up, but the bulb won't turn a full quarter turn, just a few degrees. What am I doing wrong?

    • @RonDIYMods
      @RonDIYMods  Год назад +1

      Once you line up the bulb make sure you press it in before you turn it it need to lock in before you turn it. if you look at the LED bulb it has a channel at the bottom of the housing it more like a lip. That lip needs to be aligned before you can turn it all the way.

    • @hughdunn6486
      @hughdunn6486 Год назад

      @@RonDIYMods thanks for the reply - I've tried pressing it all the way in. I can feel the bulb align, it goes in a bit, but then it only turns a few degrees. What's crazy is that I took a pic of inside the light housing where the bulb goes and there's nothing there that would catch or get in the way. Do you have to turn it really hard?

    • @namir91
      @namir91 8 месяцев назад

      @@hughdunn6486 I know this is really old but yes its pretty snug so if you push it in and it feels flush, go ahead and give it some good elbow grease and itll go. the reason it feels hard is theres no rubber gasket its metal on metal.

    Is this the same process for the Giulia

    • @RonDIYMods
      @RonDIYMods  Месяц назад +2

      Procedure:
      1. Turn the steering wheel completely to one side. This allows entry to the headlight bulb cover.
      2. Remove the 2 retainer clips from the top panel.
      3. Once you remove both clips, the panel comes out easily.
      4. Remove the Rubber bulb protector. It pulls right off easily.
      5. To remove the bulb, turn counterclockwise 1/8 turn, and pull out gently.
      6. Disconnect the wire from the old bulb and plug in the new bulb. The wire connecter only fits in the correct direction on the bulb.
      7. Gently replace the bulb in the housing, turning clockwise 1/8 turn so that the bulb is secure and the connector is pointing down.
      8. Replace the rubber cover and plastic cover.
      9. Repeat for the other side.

    HID you have as OEM are brighter technology. Yes it takes some time for them to warm up but I really can't see you gaining anything from LED other then maybe whiter color. And you also used some Chinese LED bulbs. In my mind a complete mistake.

      In this video I’m showing how I changed the bulbs out. The LED bulbs I used are from Amazon. At least for me they seem brighten that stock bulbs. Maybe in the future I’ll change them again for some name brand ones and see a bigger difference.
