Powerstop is what I put on mine - great pads. Fair warning to all, def use the original pins in the front because the Powerstop ones started falling out on mine after a few days. Luckily I kept the originals and fixed it with no issues.
Love the video great information! I just bought a 2018 Stelvio sport and it’s coming this week generally I do all the work on my own vehicles but never on a foreign vehicle. How did you learn how to do all this can you point me in the direction of where to find a repair manual like the might use in the shop …how to take thing apart and replace them and exploded views of components and such. Any info would be greatly appreciated…again thank you for the videos and keep up the good work !
Hey thanks for watching. I way I learned working on my own cars is by doing some research and looking up the parts. I don’t have a service manual for the Stelvio which it would be nice to have. But I can tell you that the forums really help like stelvioforum.com. A lot of member like me share their experience and how to knowledge to make it easier to own this type of cars and not resort to the dealers for fixtures. If you got any question let me know and if I know the answer I will definitely let you know.

Thanks for the comment in regards to the rotors I would go with slotted drilled. The only reason I haven’t done that yet. It’s because my stock rotors are still good. Once I need rotors I’m definitely going with slotted drill rotors for sure They will performed better and keep the brake pads cooler.
Awesome video man. Just to make sure, I don’t need a scan tool to reset anything? I’ve been reading all these horror stories from others that once they did their brakes, the whole car threw crazy codes and went into limp mode. Thanks in advance man
@@RonDIYMods The issue is that if any air is allowed in the braking lines the cpu will throw an error code. In that instance you need a tool to redo the learn routine after bleeding the brakes and removing all air in the lines.
@@user-io4sr7vg1v when changing your Brake pads, there is no need to disconnect any brake lines so you won’t get any air in the system. you just need to make sure is that your brake reservoir is not running low and if it is just top it off.
So when you’re getting ready to do the rear brakes, you have to go through the car menu to service the rear brakes what that does is it gets the brake caliper or piston, ready to retract it. It disengage the E brakes. But you still have to manually push the piston in. At least that’s what needs to be done in my 2018 Stelvio.

I kept the car on but it actually turned off while I was working on the car. Once I came back I press the start button once and reset it the rear brakes to get off the service mode.
As long as they are the correct one for the Stelvio you can but I would recommend to stick with the ones with the sensor to make sure everything works properly.

No I did not get any faults on the system I did not takeoff the negative battery terminal as some people suggest. If you follow my video everything should run smoothly no faults at all.

To each his own. This a video on how to change your brakes not what gear to wear. Ive done this type of maintenance on several occasion. I feel confident enough on performing this task and others while wearing sliders. I’m doing this video at home not jiffy lube. 🩴🩴

No need as you can see in the video i didn't use any reset tools or software.

Check out another video that Had a Service info to change pads where they Retract through the service menu settings.
So when you’re getting ready to do the rear brakes, you have to go through the car menu to service the rear brakes what that does is it gets the brake caliper or piston, ready to retract it. It disengage the E brakes. But you still have to manually push the piston in. At least that’s what needs to be done in my 2018 Stelvio.

What is the recommended torque setting for the guide pins?
The guide pins are tapped in into its place they’re not screwed in or screwed out they’re tapped in.
So you didn't have to bleed the brakes just remove the fluid reservoir cap then replace?
I did not bleed the brakes just opened the cap to release pressure.
Yeah, opening the cap works for most vehicles. Haven't bled brakes in a while after learning that.

You keep the car in accessory mode the whole time while doing the rear brakes, or turn the car off while in brake service mode?
You can turn the car off.

Yes. Mine is a 2018.
Can I use brakes on the rear end that don’t have the sensor?
As long as they are the correct one for the Stelvio you can but I would recommend to stick with the ones with the sensor to make sure everything works properly.
