    All you need to do is turn wheel lock to lock for steering fault and drive the car for esc light and service and stop start. They should go away. The service light is on bc of the start stop. The battery rest the state of charge in the computer of the car. Driving it clears it. Was a afla tech.

    do not do this I repeat do not do this!!! after replacing battery or disconnecting battery wait 10 seconds. after 10 seconds turn key on but not engine, the first time you will get codes, after it turn key on wait 10 seconds, turn off car then open the door and wait 10 seconds this should clear the codes off, check engine may still be on, turn car on and drive around normally, after a while the computer should get programmed and the check engine should turn off by itself, I REPEAT DO NOT TURN CAR ON AND OFF REPEATEDLY THIS IS ONLY GOING TO SHORT THE COMPUTER!!!! these cars with high tech computer systems are fragile and take time to boot so by rapidly turning on and off could potentially cause another code to trip!!! plzzz dont do this unless you want to end up at a dealership service department!!! I've been working on an Alfa for quite some time now 🍀🍀 stay safe and enjoy the car

      Cars great. This just happens after battery swap. Happens on most modern cars that lose battery voltage. You have to clear the faults from it.

      @@bhvrdr I would highly reccomend getting a battery setting saver that connects to the OBD2 port. Connect the battery setting saver to the OBD2 port prior to disconnecting the old battery, replace the old battery with the new battery, then disconnect the battery setting saver from the OBD2 port prior to starting the car. Do NOT start the vehicle without removing the battery setting saver from the OBD2 port first.

    I really don't understand why people think cars run with the aid of computers is making things easier. They're great when they work, but if one thing goes wrong, it is linked to everything else. Codes are thrown that are just symptoms of a whole different issue . Mechanics have to also be computer geniuses now. Mind you I was raised during the " starter is bad..go to APS and fix it yourself " Era. But I'd rather spend my time enjoying driving than googling all day or watching videos to find a needle in a haystack😆

    • @mr.wabbit5874
      @mr.wabbit5874 3 года назад +1

      @@bhvrdr this would indeed damage the computer and solenoid systems in the car, these cars have sensitive computer systems and required 10 seconds to boot after starting, when starting on and off rapidly this only cuts booting cycle, the car system would eventually break down over time if done this over time. please dont do this

    • @bhvrdr

      @@mr.wabbit5874 this is not true. Its actually alfa romeos protocol. The solenoids were designed to turn off and on, off and on their whole life's. If you believe different honestly you should let alfa romeo know as they engineered this routine to clear faults and reset modules

    • @mr.wabbit5874
      @mr.wabbit5874 3 года назад

      @@bhvrdr yes you are correct the solenoid or components that move from the computer are design to move during the cars lifespan but when you turn on key nd quickly turn of key without waiting at least 10secs to boot then you are pretty much intercepting booting cycle. the 2.0 turbochargers have a VGT system which calibrate upon startup.

    • @bhvrdr
      @bhvrdr  3 года назад +1

      @@mr.wabbit5874 the alfa romeo routine requires it must be cycled very quckly 10 times within 10 seconds. This is per alfa romeo and multiple other manufacturers that ask for resets this way. Youd want to take it up with the engineers who designed this routine if you feel they did it incorrectly. Ive never seen it cause a failure in 25 years but let them know your thoughts. The reset literally requires it be done quickly. If you wait more than a full second between each cycle the routine forces you to start over.
