What are your thoughts on gaining weight for fat loss and health? Also let me know how your Care/Of experience is!!✨

I actually want your opinion on this. I'm a college student & stay in the hostel. I usually try to eat food in the mess. But sometimes the food they give is too oily or just tasteless. How should I follow a healthy diet there? Like ofc I can buy fruits & healthy stuff but I'm too tight on my pocket money.

@@PassionTink u actually don't want lose weight. At least I believe so cuz 90% of the population is fat or skinny fat.what u want to loss is FAT that is a part, a portion of the weight that is WATER, FAT, and MUSCLE compose = WEIGHT.
Some ppl do great with ketosis but most ppl do better with an anabolic diet. YES diet is just the proportional component that ur food is made of. Anabolic is high protein, carb and low fat.
If u can buy chicken, turkey meat weekly, getting protein powder maybe beneficial cuz it is cheap and u can just make juice and get the protein that help ur muscle to rebuild [in a microscopic level], you can then get carbs, bread, cake to help u get carbs. It is all about find the appropriate calories for ur body weight.u want to know ur weight in the beginning to have a starting point, as u do cardio. 30 mins daily and lifting weight 30 mins -1 hr every other day[3x weekly] u will see that after 1 -2 months, u will lose weight a d I. Ur third or fourth month ur body recomposition journey will begin (some other people begin sooner or later).
You will be leaner but then u will see u are "gaining weight" BUT is mainly muscle cuz u are losing fat. U want muscle cuz muscle is 1/3 size of what fat is ut demand ur body to burn more calories. So in one year, u will gain "weight" but in really u are saying, u gained muscles. People don't know nor educate themselves nor schools that weight is fat, water , and muscles, and people should want muscles.
And yes lifting help and don't worry, muscles takes forever to build a d evemore for women cuz muscles LOVE testosterone and sadly women has 1/3 testosterone than men so even if u make a lot of lifting u will ne er gain the muscle size of a man at least u take more than regular supplements. Supplements can help u boost ur muscle growth but won't be a lot like those banned ones.
Calories intake is different for everybody. U can take notes and try to make similar healthy choices as others, but always adjust it to ur body.

Just try to open a new view of your body. Worship it. It keeps you alife, every second. I like listening to talkshows about health and try to give my body what it deserves. Don't focus to much on losing weight. With that said, I wish you to be happy with yourself and have a great life.❤

I'll emphasize the point here: you can get leaner and smaller, and SIGNIFICALTLY heavier when going from not exercising to doing regular exercise. I remained the same size, but got 30 lbs heavier when I began exercising. The shape of my body changed a lot, even at the same size, and so did my confidense. Exercise is good, disregard the weight and monitor your shape and body composition instead 👍

How did your body shape change? What did it become more like?

    • @lollsazz
      @lollsazz 2 года назад +18

@@nin-nin24 I became MUCH happier about my body. Before, I had been skinny for a long time, and although people said I looked good, I felt bad. My butt was flat and painful to sit on (getting through a school day was painful). My arms looked a bit "noodle-like" - thin all the way, then the hand, with long fingers. My stomach barely had any fat on it, but still stuck out in a way I found a bit weird (it kinda sagged a little, I guess?). My legs were so thin that the knee part was the prominent part. Also, it was really difficult and awkward to hold a good posture - it felt unnatural. The overall shape of my body was rectangle, and I felt "wide and flat". Not saying that a rectangle shape is bad, but since my skeleton is wide, being a rectangle gave me a strange shape.
After implementing regular strength exercise my posture changed. I did a lot of core training, which kinda helps to stack the vertebras of the spine correctly, and you don't have to think about having to hold your posture as much (and it takes barely any energy). My stomach became completely flat (but that is also due to how my uterus is positioned - not all girls will have a flat stomach due to this - you can find VERY fit women with kind of a sharp peak on their stomach). My arms became much more shaped, and same with shoulders. The thighs became the widest part of the leg, and I also gained a lot of muscle around my hips and butt. I was unaware of it, but my measurements became as Kim Kardashian's (but I'm much taller) 37 inches around chest, 27 around waist, 42 around the butt. I wore the same size clothes (except pants, where I went up a size), but they fit totally different! My shoulders went from sloped down to more straight.
The main part was that my brain began working much better though. I felt much more confident (occationally I still have a day where I think I look really ugly, no matter what, but I guess it's hormonal) anf I felt much stronger. When I was younger I had a lot of joint pain to the point that I sometimes had to wear wrist casts because any movent around my wrist hurt really badly. ALL my pain went away. It no longer hurt to sit with all that muscle padding my butt 😁 My memory improved too! I was also always cold prior to starting exercizing, which totally changed, as muscle generated heat and insulates pretty well too.

Make sure you watching videos and looking at people who don’t trigger your ED but encourages you. Keep going and don’t give up! Okay, that dress looks amazing on you!! For me weight loss has always been associated with health (I have PCOS), I was always the fat kid but it never affected me growing up until my health got really bad and I went to a dietician and lost about 13 kg then i understood before me was having a really hard time, my body was tired, slow and really heavy and later on when I gained weight and lost it with weird diets I did myself it never felt as good as the time when the dietician helped me. Than I understood more than restriction it was about the way of eating. You didn’t have to go out of your way to lose weight you just need to look food as it is, and you don’t really need all that fast food to survive.

I’m 14. 5’0 and 51kg. For a couple of weeks I put tremendous strain on my body, exercising when I wake up, when I go to sleep. Not age friendly exercises, stuff that took my breath away and clearly weren’t meant for my age. I skipped meals and I hated the entire process because I was torturing myself and the results weren’t immediate. My parents didn’t argue because they wanted me to lose weight just as much. Thanks to zoe and a bunch of other youtubers I have given up on exercises I’m not ready for yet. I’ve given up on fast food except maybe once or even twice a month. I drink tons of water and as for exercise I climb 10 flights of steps thrice each day. I started this day before yesterday and I’m already at 50.7kg. I’m motivated and excited and I hope no one my age even tries to adopt such a habit, ever. Thank you so much
Edit : Dropped to 50.5 kg in two days? Is that even possible?

I was your exact weight and height when I was 14! Always felt too heavy, too. Like my body wasn't capable of whatever it was before, and it was my weight that was dragging me down. I had grown up skinny and athletic so the performance decrease really affected me.
I maintained 51 kg till I was 16 I think, even though I tried hard to lose. But it's possible! I'm at 45 kg now at 20 (been this weight since 19) and feeling the best I've ever been.
Some tips: get your thyroid checked once every 6 months if your family has any history of thyroid problems. I developed hypothyroidism during puberty and it went undetected till I was 13, and I was on and off the medication for years because it kept coming and going (now I think it's staying for good, I probably have hashimoto's). Pretty much 90% of my weight gain was due to that.
If you live within walking or cycling distance of school, do it. This is 100% the thing that helped me lose weight. That extra 30 mins of walking everyday is totally worth it. It's so refreshing too, it helps clear your mind and wake you up. I'd also go on cycle rides whenever I felt like it (2+ times a week). Slowly build up the distance you can cycle and walk. At first it would be 2km, then 5 km, then 10km. Now I can cycle 25+ km comfortably and walk 10km in one go it's amazing.
Protein and fibre!! These two fill you up. And protein is important for maintaining our muscles. Learning to like fruits and veggies is also one of the best things you can do for your body.
Check your vitamins! Sometimes we have unreasonable cravings because we lack a certain nutrient. If you aren't really hungry but you really really wanna eat a particular thing it's probably your body telling you you're low on something. Try searching it up! The link between cravings and nutrition is very interesting. Make sure you're getting all your vitamins and minerals.
Also, exercise - you don't need to do intense workouts, you don't need to lift heavy. The most important thing is to enjoy exercise. Try out a variety of stuff till you find something you like. Adding weights will let you see faster progress and will help you tone and build muscle. Me personally, I always thought exercise was torture because I kept doing HIIT workouts and cardio. And then I discovered weightlifting and fell in love. And I joined the athletics club in college and discovered that I actually do like running but only if it's done with other people. So now I have exercises that I enjoy and look forward to doing :)
      Good luck on your journey!

I'm actually working toward weight loss because of being just over 200 lbs (woohoo having kids) but this is still great advice since I'm the sort to up my workouts intensely and add weightlifting to avoid TOO much food cutting. Mostly because food cutting alone actually gives me migraines, so if I want to lose quicker than a couple lbs a month I gotta work my ass off with my free weights and treadmill lol. It's easy to forget that my weight loss may be a little belated when upping my workouts by a lot because of muscle gain replacing fat at about the same rate at the beginning.
Never fear weights, y'all, whether during intentional weight gain or loss. They're your friends!

    DIET
★processed food occasionally + moderately ;) enjoy and look out for stop signals
    - appreciate whole food
    - get enough protein e.g. fish, eggs, yogurt ,
    - carbs: white rice, bread, ...
    * balance!
= eat mindfully with less restrictions & less cravings
    EXERCISE
    - resistance training: alternate leg days + arm days
    (gym equipment used)
focus on form (not the actual weight lifted)
-> gain healthy weights , toned up, feel stronger
    --
im surprise to find some people also having similar experiences as i do! i gained nearly 20 kg in one year... i guess its because of the lack of exercise and my excessive intake of processed food, as well as stress in daily life (which leads to poor sleep quality and nope its not gd) im especially worried during exam seasons / holidays / whenevr i need to meet people bc 1. i looked horizontally larger and there must be ppl talking about it and im just so self-concious lol 2. i dont feel very gd myself either

I am personally someone who struggles with binge eating (keep in mind this is what works for me and may not work for others) I managed to break my never ending cycle of restriction and binging but still I binge eat sometimes. After I got rid of my midset the less you eat the better and started to focus more on slow fat loss than quick fixes. I started counting calories but in a healthy way, I struggle with identifing hunger ques and for me counting calories is a tool that helps me understand the food I eat better. I use an app called cronometer which also shows me all the nutrition values of food. For me counting calories is helping me stabilise my hunger and craving (system?) because it is completely wrecked from years of crash dieting. I'm curently learning to eat in maintanence before I go into a slight calorie deficit and so far it's going really well. I think counting calories can be a great tool but it needs to be used wisely and not obssesed over. So if you decide to do it make sure you're going in with the right mindset.

    • @MissMoontree
      @MissMoontree 2 года назад

I think the most important thing about counting kcal is to gain consciousness about the foods you eat and how much kcal you use. You can cut down a few kcal and find a balance. Knowing you can eat the whole box of strawberries and that you would still need lunch afterwards if you plan on having an active day. But also that one scoop of icecream is X amount of physical activity in kcal. It can help you find balance even without counting everything the whole day.

You guys have to understand that even though she lost weight in a “healthy way” both 101 lbs and 108 lbs is underweight for her height. She even mentions how she lost her period, which can still happen if you’re a female with a healthy weight but lots of muscle and exercise frequently, however I have no doubt she lost per period due to her being underweight. The absolute lowest weight to still have a healthy bmi at 5’7 is around 118 lbs, which she is still 10 lbs from.

Changing your mindset is so important! ☺️
I gained weight more than two years ago (from 57kg to 62kg, I'm 160cm tall btw) and I just felt uncomfortable in my body. I hated my body before and after gaining weight I was just the unhappiest I've ever been when it comes to my body and looks. I cried in front of the mirror, feeling bad for my clothes not fitting anymore and tried to lose weight so hard... Started working out, but with an unhealthy mindset - lose weight, be thin, be perfect. I wasn't happy while working out and forced myself every day. I tried to eat less. And less. And less... Counted calories and I still couldn't lose any weight.
Now, June 2022, I'm 20 years old (turn 21 in August) and my weight is 73kg 😬 I started changing my mindset and my diet, still work out and gained "muscle-weight". My stomach is more flat but I still have a little roll 😅 My thighs are bigger (I don't only work out, but I walk every day 'cause I don't have a driving license and just walk 😂 Like 1-2 hours a day). But I'm so much happier with my weight and my body. Some clothes still don't fit me, but I don't care anymore. I'm healthy, have really good blood results (went to the doctor for this because I wanted to know) and I am so in love with my "curvy body with a bit of muscles" - I work hard for this big thighs 😂😂

Videos like this really re-assure me because I still lowkey suffer from the anorexia mindset that if the scale isn’t going down, despite me being able to tell my body is changing, then I should still be unhappy. Also this fear that I’m gonna be buff and and macho if I keep lifting weights keeps eating at my soul 😭😭 like I do wanna tone down and I know the fear is all in my head so I’m gonna keep doing it. to be honest I like to watch people realise that gaining muscle is okay and that you don't have to starve. I was aware of this for pretty much my whole life because my father does a lot of sports: goes swimming and runs and in each participates in comptetions. he always told me and my siblings that it's okay to eat unhealthy foods if it's in moderation and if we exercice to compensate what we eat.
I'm really glad that you told people about this and that you explained your own journey in discoreing this!!! 😊😊😊😊

I really feel the old you. I am in the same situation as you were, it is horrible: overthinking, crying every night, not feeling good enough, making LOTS of mistakes…I try to follow you, because you skipped these kind of things. You are such a powerful person, amazing, and I will try following your tips and tricks. Everyone calls me skinny, but I don’t feel so…I do this for me. I just can’t control snacking, I am obsessed😭This is the reason why I cry and overthink. I wish, one day, I will be like you. For me, it is much easier, because you are my guide. I really need to reduce my thigh fat, honestly, I must do it if I don’t want to overthink anymore or being depressed. I am so lazy to workout, like: 2 or 3 months ago, I worked out happy and excited, now, bc overthinking and wanting results fast and quick, I am too lazy. Thank you, Zoe, for being with us! Hope I will reach my goal soon, I can’t handle this for too much. Zoe, I feel that you are my key to success❤️ Tysm!

Gained over 30lbs in quarantine but also grew like 3 inches to 'make up'. Now at 150 and 166cm I'm on the heavier side ;-; BUT I am getting to work out and start eating a normal portion every meal. My plan is to go lose the weight I've gained for more personal reasons and build muscle to get stronger. The fluctuations early on were awful and now I've learned lol-

My biggest mistake was not doing resistant training because of fear that it would make me look bulkier. I reached a point in my weight loss journey where I was no longer making much progress and people were telling me to stop losing weight since I was starting to look unhealthy (I was skinny fat). I then took resistance training seriously. I was able to do things with my body that I have never been able to do while also losing inches off my waist. I hope people recommend resistance training more to women.

It is really so important to not fixate on the number on your scale!
Best way to track your progress is to use a bodyscanner!
If you do not have access to one then you can use your measurements + weight to calculate your fat percentage!
You can get scales that do body scans. However, the results are less trustworthy so focus more on changes in the numbers and less on the actual numbers!

Around 5 months ago I did well on eating right amounts of food that made me feel good and exercising enough so I had a consistent weight loss, but during 3 months later I made a mistake of overeating and punished myself to restrict. Which caused a messed on my overall schedule, started to binge, cry and hate myself as I slowly gained weight. It's even harder when you have a family that you can't share this to cause you fear of judgment and unnecessary comments. Food just became momentary comfort, but then I can't stop even when I feel like puking. An endless cycle really.
Overall, I'm going to fix my habit and return to what I did the first months. It'll take time and I might fail a bit, but I'm going to remind myself the reason I did this was to achieve a healthy body and lifestyle and that I can try again!! To everyone out there struggling as well we're all in this together

I was super unhappy with my body. Because of COVID and everything, I had gained a lot of weight. I tried dieting but I was basically just starving myself. I lost 4 pounds in five days, but after I started eating again, I gained the weight back. I didn’t really know what to do and I was stuck. After a while, I started researching and found a better, more healthy way of getting skinnier. Even though I gained a bit more weight, I got a lot skinnier and I feel a lot better about myself. I gained muscle, and have a much healthier lifestyle. During the beginning of my weight-loss journey, I was doubtful and scared that it wasn’t going to work, but I found your videos and found myself loving them. They gave me more motivation and I love your humour. Thank you.

someone needs to make a video debunking all these how to be skinny videos.. I'm really tired of this "moderation is key" bollocks. To be this skinny, you have to eat a lot less than you think and exercise a lot more than you think. Most people are not skinny because this is difficult. Those who are skinny are either obsessive about what they eat, OR they have little interest in food, thus they eat less. Every skinny person I've ever known barely eats anything - they might eat 2 cookies for dinner and that's it. Or they skip breakfast/lunch because they're not hungry. Skinny people rarely finish their plate, their portions are what most would consider miniscule. No one wants to admit this anymore because it's considered disordered eating, but the reality is it's not about moderation at all
